Spirit Legends: The Aeon Heart Collector's Edition is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Is OK Enough? Uncle kidnapped by presumed bad guys. You are the darling nephew that chases after him. Luckily, as usual, the villain waits for you to catch up. You manage to get uncle out of a cage in time to have a few hours left to live. Lucky you. Good stuff: Usual standbys from a fork for nails to a pin for a lockpick, as well as an assortment of collectibles and other bling with the HOPs and mini-games as expected. Bad stuff: Everything is done in darkness or semi-darkness to provide an excuse for the overwhelming use of dark blues and greens. The lack of logic is as normal as sewage. The less said, the better. Bottom line: My ability to see where this is going, worries me. I am undecided as to whether I want to go there too. Please play the demo. Is average good enough? Only you can decide!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A Necessary Change Of Heart Well, I didn't get very far into the adventure. The demo was full of menial tasks that really hindered my progress. As soon as I entered the gates I was confronted with obstacles, broken and missing items and had to locate the knocker to enter the house. Right off I'm not feeling much like continuing the journey because tedium is already tugging at me. The Task Book was found in the bag in the coach and the Map popped up a little later which very quickly transports you to your desired locations. A Bestiary is used to banish the monsters, I dealt with 2 in the demo. I'm not a fan of this gimmick that to me is an annoying time filler. I didn't like the puzzles I had to play but they were easy enough. A Harmony Guardian magically appeared, entrancing Uncle Jodac and whisking him away to her kingdom. She was aggressive and had an overly emphasized gruff voice. Didn't seem very harmony-like to me, maybe she was just having a bad day! Sorry I can't give more info on what seems to be an entertaining storyline. All I can give you is...the graphics are really sharp and full of rich color, not much of Domini's trademark neons. The scenes are somewhat cluttered with broken stuff to muddle through to find the items needed to progress. The 3 characters in the demo were well rendered and the voices were strong and synced with lip movement. Good facial expressions. The one HOP I played was dark but items were easily found, a couple were interactive. I tried the Match 3 game which had unpleasant sound f/x and big clunky tiles. I don't recall any mini games other than the ones associated with the Bestiary. There are 18 HOPs and 20+ puzzles. A good balance. The games can be played in Easy or Hard Mode. Hint and Skip times can be reduced to zero seconds in Custom Play, always ideal for the demo. The collectibles are typical for Domini with 70 coins, 15 potions, 15 morphs, 15 inventions, 30+ achievements. An Indicator Bar keeps tabs on the collectibles for you, a great feature. The music was tolerable and volume adjustable, no tech issues. The Cursor was so huge, I used my own small one which always works smoother than game cursors. I'm not very enthused about this game, mainly due to the demo being bogged down with so much to do before I could delve into the adventure. I would hate for the whole game to be that way. It's a storyline that piqued my interest, but I'm reluctant to buy at this point. Will likely be on the fence awhile or at least until a better sale comes along. The game should definitely be a winner with fantasy fans who love enchanted kingdoms, forest spirits and magical beasts.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just OK This is another ok game; nothing new, a repeat of other games (you know, put out fire to get stuff, climb a ladder to get stuff, use a magnet to open a latch, replace piano keys etc...). We have a magician's nephew on a visit to have his magic heart checked, and his uncle is taken before that happens. I did not actively dislike the game, but I was bored with the gameplay. The HOPs were mildly interesting, there are coins and morphs to find in scenes, and indicators for them (though what's is the point of the coins, you really have no choices, you just buy what's there). Again, I had no voices at all, the music was really warbling and bad, so I turned it off. The other sounds worked ok. I just found that over all, the game was just bland, and in some places just silly. It is well put together, well drawn, works ok but, there really isn't anything that I can say wow to. I am tired of game after game set as fantasy. I think it is a cop out. It is the same game with the same tasks in just a slightly different setting. I am bored, with them, feels so repetitive. I would rather go and play the Maze series again...at least those are original. So, if you like these types of games that are repetitive, then by all means buy it. This one is better than most of the ones released since the beginning of the year, but I am not going to spend money on games that are not nearly as good as the ones I already own.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ran slow on my Mac I thought the game was rich visually, although the storyline was pretty standard fare. But my Mac (running Mojave) couldn't handle the gameplay...my mouse lagged behind and lots of items had to be clicked more than once to register activation, especially in the HOGs and mini-games. I also wasn't a fan of some mini-games, it felt like there were lots of maze-like puzzles to solve. Maybe I would have liked it more if it hadn't been so tedious to interact with.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sucks Up All My Memory & Processor I played this game. In slow motion. This game is such a hog on my MacBook Pro, it took eons to get through each chapter. Usually Domini Games do just fine on my machine, but not this one.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from dull.. I am not sure if people who have scored this game so highly are playing the same game as me. I found it unbelievably dull - so much so even thought i'd bought the collector's edition I couldn't be bothered to play the bonus chapter - I just uninstalled it. It's a one dimensional story with very few games - those which there are in the main are pathetically simple and not at all challenging. It's just backwards and forwards searching for objects, there's nothing new in this at all. Deeply disappointing.
