Customer Reviews
Forest Riddles 3 is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reading reviews, I almost didn't bother trying this. I've really enjoyed the other games in this series, but after reading the reviews about frustrations with colors and backgrounds, I wasn't even going to bother downloading the trial. I finally decided to see for myself what all the fuss was about, and I'm glad I did. Yes, some of the colors are quite similar, but one way to deal with that is by switching to either a lighter or darker color to possibly get some breakup between the similar colors. Unless it gets more difficult past the 1-hour mark, I haven't had an issue with the puzzle and background melding together. If you've enjoyed the first two Forest Riddles, you won't be disappointed by #3.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautifully Challenging For those of you who like the artistry of a game as much as the puzzles, you should definitely give this one a try. The developers have used shading to create pictures that are 3-D in appearance when you are done. So, yes, the colors are very similar which is the challenge of the game. But, by going back and forth, 3 stars is easily obtainable. If you are looking for the same easy nonagram puzzles that are churned out every couple of weeks with nothing new, this isn't for you, but I hope you give it a try, because this is a fabulously illustrated and rewarding game!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MY NEW FAVORITE!!!! Easily my new favorite. The " x " made all the difference! Very easy to see where one starts or stops. The color scheme is fantastic. But I will admit the shades are too close to each other. I actually ENJOYED playing, when normally I play to pass the time. Super job on this one. You should definitely try this game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Satisfying game play I stopped the demo after solving only 3 puzzles to purchase game. I love the colors(I didn't have problems) and the music is soothing. The colors are vibrant and the sound as you tick off each tile is satisfying. If you love griddlers/mosaics, you should enjoy this game!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Improved, but I still have display issues Based on demo: The first version of this game was nearly impossible for me to play, and this has many improvements. However, some problems still remain. Black, white and grey tiles are often so close to one another or the background that it's nearly hit or miss. And while an excellent point was made about these subtleties providing more of a challenge, I really don't want to have to squint and tilt the laptop to find differences. That said, I'm glad I went beyond the first few nearly monochromatic levels to reach those where there were actual colors like reds, greens and purples that were more saturated, enabling the gentle gamer to detect their finer details. I do appreciate the effort made on puzzles that are more interesting to play, and will likely include it on my coupon list.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from LOVE THE FOREST RIDDLE GAMES SO GONNA' CHARGE ON THROUGH!! I did have some difficulty with colors being almost identical, but I really enjoy the game and the music. I figure it just adds to the challenge. I noticed that if I raise the front of my laptop just a teensy bit for a second, I can see a subtle change in the similar tiles and continue on to finish each beautiful game! I really hope others can find a way to be able to enjoy and appreciate this game too!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I liked it but I love these games but this one the colors were too close to each other to make it better than okay. Hard to distinguish between them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Would Be Top rated If Color Issues Were Addressed I have to agree with other reviewers who say there are issues with color differentiation with the tiles. It just makes it too much like hard work to play the game. It's a shame as most other aspects are top notch. Fix the colors and this would rate higher I'm sure. In the meantime, if you are tired of the penguin and want more challenge and innovation in a nonogram, then try any of the 'World's Greatest Cities Mosaics', especially 3 and 4. They have introduced some innovative aspects which work very well, and are a joy to play.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This COULD Be a FANTASTIC Game If Only! Wow, I love these types of games and this one would be at the top of the list if not for the colors. They all blend together to the point that it actually hurt my eyes trying to make out the differences. Everything else about this game in my opinion is top notch. At least give it a try it might be okay for some of you.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I COULDN'T SEE THE FOREST FOR THE TREES I love everything about this Nonogram Griddler game, but none of that matters if you can't see the cells! The colors are too identical, I couldn't tell the difference between the dark green cells and the black cells, which is even more confusing when the dark background fills in when a row or column was completed. I couldn't tell where the tan cells started at times because of the similar colored blank cells. I love the features, I love the pictures, I love the music, but I love to solve Griddlers for relaxation, and because I couldn't "see the forest for the trees" this was anything but relaxing for me personally. You can earn 1 Star for completing the puzzle, a second Star if you don't use the Fairy (Fairies are Hints that when chosen will fly down and fill in 2 or 3 cells for you.) and a third Star if you make no mistakes, (also referred to as Lanterns, if you make too many mistakes the lantern's light will go out) and any level can be replayed. You can choose an auto-remove option that will cross off cells one by one rather than when the entire row or column has been correctly filled. I'm sure griddler fans will love this game IF they don't mind the added challenge of not being able to differentiate between the cell colors and backgrounds, but I found it to be frustrating.
