Big Fish Editor's Choice! This title was selected for its exceptional quality and overwhelmingly positive reviews from our Game Club beta testers.

The Old Town located beneath the ruins of Grak Kingdom has been rapidly turning into salt in the past few days. This salt-transmutation appears to be caused by a mysterious species of white dragonflies. The Princess of Grak Kingdom went missing a hundred years ago. The Grak Palace also inexplicably collapsed at around the same time. However, a girl who might be the Princess has been sighted in the Old Town recently. You (Detective) are requested to find the Princess and solve all the mysteries behind the salt-transmutation. As you approach the ruins, you are attacked by an abnormally strong man with hostile intent. With the help of two sisters imbued with special powers, you are narrowly saved from peril. As you delve deeper in the case, you find hints that this mystery might be linked to a case that you investigated long ago...

See what our Beta testers had to say:

“Dark Parables is back and this is the closest to the original this series has come! Beautiful artwork and outstanding sound track coupled with an interesting story line make this a definite "must have" in my games library.”  - Janet, beta tester

“Loved the story line and the intricate art work. Glad to see this game kept to the style of the other dark parables. Looking forward to buying it and seeing how the story ends.”  - Rosa, beta tester

Dark Parables: Return of the Salt Princess Collector's Edition is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 111.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Back to Black Why Back to Black? Because the series has finally returned to its course and we got a really decent game, after the not very successful 13th and 12th parts (even though the second was Hansel, but even he did not save it). The game naturally has its drawbacks. For example, the same snag with a map, on which you can no longer move to another location and you will have to wander through the locations, getting to the desired location. But there are much more advantages in the game. Finally, we were given back the old design of parables and their placement on locations. But this is not the main plus. The main advantage of the game, I think the characters. Brigid, Mercy and Serafina are amazing. And in what other game did you see such a handsome chief antagonist like Mercy? And the ending with Serafina directly knocks a tear out of you, despite the fact that the fiery doll was a villain in the game. In general, the game was amazing, so I give it the maximum rating and recommend it to everyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love me some Blue Tea! I find this volume in Dark Parables series very enjoyable and must agree with those voices that contributed this quality to return of the original developers from Blue Tea. It really does have that fairytale, dreamy feeling that installments developed by Eipix lacked, it reminds me of the first (and imho best by far) installments in the series. Graphics are beautiful, lavish, detailed and colourful but not tawdry. Music is lovely and I didn´t get weary of it. Story is quite nice for a casual game and the characters are portrayed in detail, they have their agendas and feel kind of real and believable. The lenght of the game is reasonable, it´s not too short. About negatives.. well, I would like to "fast-travel" on the map (I thought this game feature is already a must these days) and the bonus game is quite short (though nice) addition to the story. Overall - I like this parable a lot, much more than the several previous installments in the series! It gives me hope that the days of Briar Rose, the Exiled Prince or the Snow Queen are not over.. please, stay with us and the Fables, Blue Tea :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Fun game The plot is a little more complicated than usual, but everything makes sense in the end. I enjoyed this a lot. I love the hidden object puzzles and I just like to take my time wandering around the world.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thumbs Up I enjoyed this HOG; the HOS's are a switch from the norm. The only drawback, for me, is the map. I'm not saying the Map is totally useless, but it does not help, at all, with Navigation. Game Navigation was a drawback, for me, but did not take away from the game itself, which is very well done. Isn't it strange, in a HOS, how large things are really small and small things are really large; only in the land of HOG's. Yeah, you have to find a Ladder, but you don't have to repair it; how bout that. I definitely recommend this HOG.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Latest Dark Parables game a must for all players There is something about the Dark Parable games that puts them above the rest. The story and difficulty is for all hidden object fans from novice to expert players. The beauty of the scenes that look so life like makes it such an enjoyable game . The only negative thing I can say about this game is there is a lot of reading through out. That is only a very small negative. This game is the right length and has you enthralled from beginning to end. Is it the best Dark Parables? To me it comes close. Cant wait for the next Dark Parables game. I am sure it will be high quality like all there previous games. Keep up the good work Blue Tea Games and Big Fish.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful! Absolutely Wonderful! I have to admit that I played all the Dark Parables series. Some have been better than others, but I think this one ranks up there as being my second favorite (right behind "The Last Cinderella). The story is excellent! Fables, legends and puppets all wrapped into one wonderful maze of anime-quality design and storytelling. The HOPS were fairly challenging, as were the puzzles (although there is a fair bit of same puzzle/different look involved). The morphs were well placed, but not impossible to see. As usual, I was not able to find all of the parable pieces, but I'll look harder the second time around. The CE version is worth getting because of the second story. Best of all, this game is not a short one... I have short games! Take your time and enjoy all the beautiful!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blue Tea Games is baaaaack !! at last !! This new Blue Tea Games is good, better than those before it seems, characters design are a bit manga-like, graphics are really beautiful as always with BTG, Music is beautiful.. Hidden Objects Sequences are a little too easy in this game, even if I really take my time playing it . Blue Tea Games are the most beautiful (even with Eipix in the mix), and I just love it and the atmosphere they excel to create,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Welcome back old friend How wonderful to play a memorable Dark Parables. As all the old fans know, the last few games have been less than enjoyable and were very unlike the original games. This game ticks all the boxes - loads of FROGS and yes, other frogs appear too. The familiar sounds and colours bring it all back and the characters are true to form. The storyline is pure fairytale. It took 90 minutes to get to Chapter 2 so then I had to buy it. Riveting. Thank you for listening to diehard fans by producing an excellent Dark Parables.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful ... *IF WHAT YOU WANT IS BLUE TEA!* Bravo! Encore! This is an absolutely wonderful game if you are one of those for whom the magnificent, sort of roccoco art style, scenes of the old Blue Tea games, before a period of captivity (as it were) to another developer, is something you have sighed and longed for and which no other HOPA casual game could provide. You know if you are or, if you are new to the games and try this game you will soon find out. Is it as beautiful and rich in elaboration and in the sense of wonder as the first seven of the Blue Tea games? Does the developer of the time of captivity ,who in this one acts as producer ,still have a baleful influence on the game in some way or ways? Is it important to us that the trick aspect of the morphing objects, that their transformations begin only when triggered by the players action *after* passing on to a later setting? Is the story-line somehow corrupted by the influence of other games being made today ? These are questions lovers of Blue Tea could discuss( "blue tea" is an expression perhaps from the games home in Hong Kong for the rare in exquisite) . My answers would be that I don't know care much about the morphing trick, I dont know how much the producer influenced the development of the game... as to the game's story? Personally I liked some of the other stories a little better BUT think of this as a sort of operetta where after the curtain all of the characters appear as alive and well and all full of radiance and light whatever role they played and who could withhold applause and a cries of BRAVO! BRAVA! and yes ENCORE!
