Rated 5 out of 5 by from Glad I didn't let the negatives sway me, This was a great game! Don't be swayed by negative comments, this was an exceptionally good game! I enjoyed every minute of it. It wasn't overly long like many of the older games but it wasn't really short like many of the newer games have been, it's a pretty good length. I wish I purchased the CE so I could have had more time with this game! Something about this game just drew me in and I didn't stop playing until the game was over. That hasn't happened to me very often lately. The scenes were clear and colorful, the music was beautiful, the sound of their voices were just perfect, nobody irritated me except when they talked a little slower than I would like. The storyline was nothing all that new but it was told well and the objective of what you were to do and why was always clear throughout the game. There were times when you had to find ingredients to make potions or healing bandages etc. I love doing that! The hidden object scenes were fun and very interactive, the puzzles or mini-games were also fun and relatively easy because I was willing and able to do almost all of them! I think I really enjoyed this game so much because the flow was just so good in this game and you weren't running around looking for all kinds of stupid amulets to open every darn thing!! This game is by LazyTurtle I do not think they've made too many hidden object games before and I have to say if they keep this up they are going to give our big name designers a real run for their money! Bravo Lazy Turtle! Yes, I highly recommend this game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Game When I bought this game, I was unsure as to whether I would like it or not. I'm about 50% of the way through it and it's a great game. Animations are very well done and no moving cardboard cut-outs! The developer also put in some unique spins on certain tasks and HOPs. It's about time we had a developer who did a little out-of-the-box thinking for a change! I DO recommend this game but, as always, I suggest trialing it first.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Woodland delight Based on the trial The game starts out slow. I almost thought it was just a hidden object game with no puzzles. I had Five hops, not counting the 4 thing hop. They have the hops placement in the guide. Which I've been wanting. Then later I had like 3 puzzles, so relaxed that I don't think they are challenging for some people but it was enough for this adult. Which I like the relaxed puzzles the best. But that could change later down the road. They have Harpies, Chimeras, Werewolf, Manicore and a Walking Tree so far. The Druid is your helper after a while. I enjoyed shooting an arrow and the walking tree maze. One hops has a woman's closet with shoes, dresses and hats. I Love shoes, dresses and hats. I seen a little blur in between scenes. It has 5 chapters. I collected morphs, hearts and something call Bestiary (Animal). The scenes are pretty with the woodland, Lily of the Valley and Venus Fly trap. I wanted it so I bought it on sale.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Enjoyable! but quite short Surprisingly enjoying game, but dreadfully short -- I finished the demo in an hour, bought the game, and was through with the main game in another hour. That's the fastest I've ever finished a hidden object game.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from my mouth just dropped it was a good game til the bonus chapter ended so fast I was left there staring at my computer with my mouth wide open. I couldn't believe the game was over. I thought something was wrong with my computer. the graphics was good but I liked it better being in town cuz you end up being in the forest and the scene is not as pretty in the forest.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A GAME THAT BECOMES BETTER THE LONGER YOU PLAY Initially, I can say that I fairly much echoed the sentiments of another reviewer who said the game left him/her feeling rather lukewarm but that feeling eventually changed. When I began the game beta last year and the opening cutscene showed a dark mage or demon saying that it needed more souls to obtain immortality I quit the game. This morning something, maybe boredom, prompted me to play the game demo and as I played further into the game (putting aside my dislike of the theme) it became more interesting. Being the sucker that I am for acquiring a CE for the SE price, I went ahead and purchased the full game. I must admit that although I dislike the theme of yet another demon who wants to obtain immortality, I do enjoy most fantasy games. I am not going to recap the storyline as another reviewer did that already but I will say as mentioned above that the game grew on me the more I played it. The graphics are much better than I thought they would be and the voiceovers are well done. I did have some minor issues with the game’s controls that I learned to live with as I moved forward. The custom game mode does not offer a lot of choices and I would prefer that the difference in sparkles or glints is more defined. Although there is no pet helper that you cart around in your inventory, you will pick up companions who will help you as you move through the game. Most of the HOPS are very good with many being the standard list type although there is some variety in the mix. The HOPS are what have come to expect in most games but they were still entertaining. Yes, most of the puzzles early in the game are a bit easy, but they present more challenge later in the game. A puzzle that I particularly enjoyed is a slider type where the goal is to move a red block through a circular maze by moving other blockers. Darkheart Flight of the Harpies is not a top tier game but it is a game that will appeal many gamers, particularly if you enjoy fantasy games. As always, I recommend you at least try the demo to see if it is a game you might enjoy. Happy Gaming Fishies!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from IT'S A BIRD, IT'S A PLANE.....oh noooo, it's a Harpie Running in the opposite direction seems like a logical response when faced with a flock of Harpies, but not in this town! In fact, they celebrate The Great Day of Harvest, and believe that it's a great honor to be "chosen" by a Harpy! (if you can't beat 'em, you may as well join 'em right?) But the people of this town are also aware of a Prophecy that has been handed down for generations, that one day, someone brave enough, will challenge these harbingers of evil. That one day is Now, and that someone is You! I agree with Logie, this game starts out a bit slow and uneventful, but gains momentum as you progress, and I'm not really sure why. The graphics aren't very consistant, at times they seem super sharp and crystal clear, other times they seem blurry and out of proportion. I will say that the characters are well done, and for the first time, the closeup of the bay horse, a couple of scenes in, is perfect. I've owned horses for years (rip my beloved Mariah:() and everytime I see a horse closeup in one of these games, they are always out of proportion and awkward looking, and they never seem to get their movement animations right, so I'm impressed! Before the demo's end, you will be joined by a Druid as a helper. I'm okay with this particular helper, because it's a logical fit, and he doesn't fidget, moan or grunt, like some helpers do to annoy you. In this Collector's Edition version, there are hidden Heart's, Morphing Objects, and Beastiary Figurine Statues to collect, as well as the usual CE bling of wallpapers, concept art, achievements, strategy guide and bonus chapter. The Hidden Object Scenes are varied with Silhouetted Shape finds in pairs, Interactive List finds, smaller Zoom Zone Multiple finds, and a very interactive one where you find clothing items on shelves, and associated decorations to complete them. There isn't an alternative puzzle available, but I actually enjoyed most of the HOP's, which doesn't often happen nowadays. The Mini Games are middle of the road type games, not bad, but could have been more creative. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo: 1) Find and replace items in 4 different book pages. 2) Turn the dial to correct objects as shown on clue. 3) Click the Aim icon when the ball is in the yellow zone x3 4) Slide pieces to restore amulet, using pieces as bumpers. 5) Select 3 rune sections to recreate center symbol. 6) Guide character through maze using items along the path. This Collector's Edition version has 8 Wallpapers, 8 Concept Art pictures, 10 Achievements to earn, Morphing Objects, Hidden Hearts, 6 Collectible Beastiary Figurines, 5 Chapters + Bonus Chapter, and a built in Strategy Guide (includes Hidden Object Scene item location) enjoy the flight! Lazy Turtle Games Available: Darkheart: Flight of the Harpies, The Far Kingdoms, Santa's Workshop Mosaics, Mystery Expedition: Prisoner of Ice, Artifacts of Eternity, Dark Chronicles, The Count of Monte Cristo & The Return of Monte Cristo, Eternity, Mystery Chronicles: Betrayals of Love & Murder Among Friends, Abandoned: Chestnut Lodge Asylum
