Faces of Illusion: The Twin Phantoms is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from As an SE, This Is a Reasonable Game Beatrice is a star and her small eight to nine year old brother, Arthur, wants to see her performance tonight. You have a ticket to enable you to report on the performance for your paper. Shortly after you enter the theater with Arthur, Beatrice is kidnapped, apparently by an illusionist that recently worked in the theater. After rescuing Arthur from a fire, the two of you chase down the kidnapper as he flees with Beatrice. Good stuff: there are all of the usual game elements and OK artwork. The story is familiar, with scant details. Then there is Arthur to be rescued and do tasks you can't manage. Bad stuff: The artwork will be clear in one section of the scene and fuzzy in another. There are the usual lapses of logic - the key to the tool and fire equipment closet is in a crack in the wall, where you have to fish it out to get at the equipment. Bottom line: This is a nice SE game and deserving of a trial. As it is a cut above many of the SE versions of recent CE games, I would urge you to try the Demo.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from On the Fence.... I am having a like/don't like relationship with this game. Parts of it are interesting; others are tedious. Being that it is a SE and I have a free game code nearing expiration I may end up getting it. I'd really like to give it 3.5 stars. Being that I'm so on the fence I'm not saying yea or nay to recommending it. As with all games - give it a try. You'll either want it or not want it!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Horrid! Cartoon-like! Poor Graphics! I couldn’t finish the trial. Worst game I’ve played in a while. Sloppy development and lack of attention to anything that would have made this interesting and new! Shades of Phantom of the Opera! Graphics were slipshod, some parts of a scene would be good and the rest looked like someone fell asleep, music was annoying and repetitive, characters were cartoon-like, and voice overs were child-like and poorly scripted. Hidden object games were interactive with a lot of guessing where to find the connecting part(s) and a responsive “clunk” would be heard when it wasn’t a right move. Mini games were poorly crafted and used old themes, remove all the gears and replace them then rotate a bunch of hexagonal pieces so the colors form a continuous line. Every item clicked on, whether in a scene or elsewhere, resulted in a “clunk” if incorrect or a “tinkle” sound if right, this is annoying. Also, typed dialogue changed using bright colors.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I hope they don't try for a sequel This is one of those games you hope they aren't planning a sequel for because there is nothing redeemable in this game to call for one. Story line is lame at best and has been played out in so many other games that you lose count. Girl gets kidnapped by baddy and you, and only you, can save her. Not the police, or the FBI, or any detectives, only you. HOs are some of the worst I've played in a long time. What you are looking for is not evident and you usually have to do something else to find what you're looking for. And the mini games aren't any better. Came across a few with no instructions at all and just had to guess until something happened. Also there were a few I had to skip completely because no matter what correct move I made I came no closer to solving the game. Graphics are not up to snuff for this developer. I have seen better from them. Matter of fact, I've seen better games by them. I suggest you read all the reviews and then disregard anything over 2 stars. I don't recommend this game ar all. save your money for a good game.
