Rated 5 out of 5 by from PLAYED 2xs Glad I did I thought it was going to be a so-so game so I bought the reg instead of the CE... So sorry I would have really loved the CE.. played this twice... got more out of the story.. (understanding what was going on) AND I had a game I didn't understand... (misread) that you could turn the pieces.. AND got to do it the second time.. and it was fun... GRAPHICS and Voiceovers. were awesome... Great game...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Time-Traveling Auntie To The Rescue! Once again, the family turns to Anna and skull daddy to save the day. This time it's her niece Jackie, who you may remember she rescued when she was younger. I was a bit disappointed in this one. Maybe it's because the series has gone on so long they've ran out of relatives and they're running through them once again. Also, as the other reviewers noted, it was a bit short. If you're reading this, Elephant Games, please go back to the beautiful mansions and countryside cottages that made these games so beautiful to begin with. The ugly hotel rooms and police stations didn't do it justice. Still, it wasn't bad. The HOS were fun and I enjoyed going back to different time periods. I will continue to buy this series because you always want to see what happens next.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really Good Game This is posted after playing the entire game. As other have said, this game is rather short, but it was long enough for me to kill an afternoon. It was the perfect length for me. I found it rather entertaining, although not as much as other games in this series and I believe I have them all. Great graphics and colors. There weren't dark shades of purple and black. The voice overs were very well done and good old Richard is back with his recognizable voice. I was surprised that Anna didn't talk in this one. Music and effects went along with the action in the scene. I found the mini games to be simple enough that I was able to play them. I wasn't successful all the time, but at least they were doable. One thing I wish designers would do is have a way to have the computer complete the mini and then allow the player to attempt it again. Some minis I just don't know what to do. Hidden objects were varied and interesting. They did keep my interest. I used the custom mode so I wouldn't have to wait for the hint and skip to recharge. Patience is not one of my virtues. Although there wasn't a lot of back and forth, the map did come in handy to see if I had missed anything in that scene. If I did need to go elsewhere it would show where to go and transport me there. I have always liked the this story line. I'm not a big fan of supernatural games, but I do like this series. Others will go into depth about the story, so I'll just say it got me involved from the beginning and kept me until the end. Play the demo and see if it isn't a game you might enjoy. I sure did.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, But Seemed Short This is a good standard hidden object game that seemed to go fast. Good graphics and smooth flow of game.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Short Short Short By far, this is one of the shortest games I have played. About the time I got settled into the game and thought the plot was really taking off, I realized I was at Endgame. The puzzles were also rather easy, most could be done with no information at all and the HO area were quite simple. This game is probably fantastic for a new beginner of HO games who is just getting their feet wet, but for a long-time player, not so much.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Did this seem short to you? Because it seemed really short to me. I have been waiting for this to come out and was super disappointed. I like the series, so I bought it without trying it. Don't get me wrong the game was ok, I mean I did finish it. But maybe because it was so short???

Rated 3 out of 5 by from CLEARLY THEY POURED ALL THEIR ENERGY INTO ORIGINS Because I own the entire Grim Tales series, I purchased this game in the CE version. The storyline is decent, but the game features are way too cookie-cutter, it's clear that they poured all of their energy into Detectives United, and rushed to get this game released. The Bonus Chapter returns with Alexander as the lead character as an excited dad-to-be as Natalya is expecting twins. There are 3 more Character photos, 9 Morphing Objects, and 9 more Screensaver pieces to collect in the BC. I love the Grim Tales series and I own all of them, (scroll down for series order) but this game was rather boring and way too easy. It has all the staple features Elephant can't seem to resist, magic oil that removes decades of rust instantly, instant ink revealer, missing clock hands, items in a sewer drain, cobwebs, tarps over a trailer. Have they run out of new ideas or do they just recycle the same scenes? Because they insist on using the same obvious tasks, this game can be done in your sleep...while you're dreaming....about an entirely different game! Daddy Richard has returned and honestly, he's the best part of this game. In case you haven't played any recent Grim Tales games, Daddy Richard is as dead as a doorknob! That doesn't stop him from joining your time-traveling adventure though, because Anna Gray takes Daddy Richard's skull with her wherever she goes, hey who doesn't right? The Hidden Object Scenes are unimpressive and extremely easy to locate all items quickly. Honestly, I was able to find most of the items without looking at the list, and there's just no excuse for this! There are Keyword finds, Interactive List finds and Silhouetted Shape finds as well as several smaller zoom zone HOP's. The Mini-Games are decent but some of them have vague instructions. There are way too many "navigation" style puzzles in my opinion, which at times, are back to back. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo: 1-Swap tokens along paths to matching related item slots. 2-Trace wires and enter the symbol for each number shown. 3-Move tokens to matching slots, tiles will change after touching them. 4-Restore the image by turning sections. 5-Turn wheels to enter each code and each image shown. 6-Navigate through the maze by pulling green levers to open barriers. 7-Swap tubes to their matching symbols. 8-Push all lock parts off the board until only 1 remains. 9-Arrange tiles so they match the shape & color of their slots. The Collector's Edition has 8 Wallpapers, 8 Concept Art pictures, 3 Screensavers (once 34 Puzzle Pieces have been found) 5 Music Soundtracks, 17 Achievements to earn, Morphing Objects in each scene, 11 Collectible Character Photographs, Archives, 3 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a built-in Strategy Guide, enjoy!
