Customer Reviews
Happy Empire: A Bouquet for the Princess is rated 1.9 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't judge this based on the previous installment Review based on entire 1 hour trial period in HARD mode (4 levels) This is the 3rd installment; the 1st, "Happy Kingdom", was a MAJOR disappointment. The 2nd effort, "Happy Empire", was released 5 years ago... it too had major flaws, especially when compared to some great "gather resources" TM games out there. A BOUQUET FOR THE PRINCESS is very elaborate, with a LOT of things going on but mostly, a LOT of ideas "borrowed" from other games to increase the challenge: repaired pits that break repeatedly, a dog you can hire to remove the ghosts that scare your workers, a wizard that steals resources AND slows down workers, buildings you can upgrade which will also increase the speed of your workers, etc. I also wanted to see what happens when you run out of time in "timed" mode... the answer: you only get 1 star, but you CAN move ahead. It's unfair for me to judge a new game solely based on first impressions because I don't know what happens later on... I found they removed the flaws from the earlier releases and combined many features from different games into this one. Yes, it's busy (especially with all the animation given to characters and buildings), yes it's complex because there are a lot of things that can be done besides the "simple" collection of resources and removal of obstacles. There is 1 thing I didn't like (more like a pet peeve): the voice-overs don't say what the speech bubbles contain, and you'll need to pay attention as you click thru the dialogues to "see" how it progresses because the "old" bubble from the other character stays there. I give the devs credit for the effort they put in to improve this game; this will be a buy for me, mostly because of all the extra features in gameplay itself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A vast improvement I tried the first game and did not like it at all. This is such a better game, there is so much going on right from the start and it takes quite a bit of working out but once you are used to it you will be fine. Not sure how the different princes work yet as each level is quite complex, well for me it is lol, and I use the relaxed mode. What I would say to those who prefer the timed mode to play the demo on relaxed so you will get more into the game and then once you decide that you want to buy it then put it on timed .Just a suggestion. There are nearly 3 times more levels in this game and my hour was up so quick,I just had to purchase. It may not suit everyone but for me it is a great TM game and different to the standard tm's

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This game deserves better scores Is it strictly a "strategy" game?....No. Is it strictly a "TM" game?...No. It's very challenging, a bit confusing at first, but it is a real challenge and very rewarding when you complete the levels. You are probably going to be turned off by the trial time, because it is confusing and you're going to need more time to navigate the levels.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from AWESOME GRAPHICS, LOOKS REALLY FUN, BUT APPARENTLY WAY TOO COMPLICATED FOR ME I'll be the first to admit my shortcomings and failures, this looks like a really fun TM game but I'm apparently not as good of a player as I thought. I felt more anxious about the chaos than excited. I've never seen so many buildings, resources, people, animals, holes, gates, keys, mages, peasants, wizards, elves, raccoon hit-men, bubbles, sawmills, quarries, bakeries, markets, chests, and merchants. And that was on the first level! Happy Empire was not a very happy place for me, I played the entire demo and I'm still totally confused as to what my goal was or how to achieve it. I'm still confused about what my actual collected resources are. I'm still confused about what needs to be done, how to do it and why I'm doing it. Do I hire a raccoon thug? Do I buy buildings so I don't have to pay rent-extortion? Do I, or more appropriately, should I pick up and eat abandoned food left out in the hot sun by the bad guys that may possibly be tainted? Should I be hearing voices whilst my tutorial Elf princess keeps popping up with mile-long dialog boxes as she tries to explain the unexplainable, Do I try to stop maniacal Mages from blowing Mr. Bubble bubble-shields? Do I shake down crazy Uncle Bob to steal his keys when he's clearly inebriated? Do I patch up the holes that appear and disappear and reappear again? Do I go all caveman on Treasure Chests that don't require shaking down crazy Uncle Bob for keys because hitting them with stones does the trick but for some reason doesn't work on the gate locks? So much confusion, so many questions, so little time to manage my time, I shall leave this game for the truly gifted players. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go check on crazy Uncle Bob, rumor has it stole the maniacal Mr. Bubbles blower. ??????????????? Rated 2 out of 5 by from What is going on There is too much going on. Voices that seem to come from nowhere and its constant. Instructions that are unclear. I love time management games and bought this without trying. I will never make that mistake again. I completed the first island and then deleted.. Just one more thing, does that Prince look like a princess ??

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too confusing The screen is too busy with objects/people/animals running and floating around. Storyline and dialogue are silly and poorly written. I love TM games but not this one.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Weird, awkward noise I love TM games so was excited to try this one. I deleted it after 3 levels. The game play isn't intuitive. There are random character popups, some of which are helpful and some of which are not. Some of the helpful popups should have been on level 1 instead of on level 3. In addition to the usual gathering of resources, you can buy buildings so you don't have to pay for the resources. However, some of the things you need to pay for buildings/resources are on the left of your screen and others are on the right. Why? There's an evil mage who spits out big balls. I never figured out what they were for, or how to use them. The mage also comes into the game periodically and steals resources. Never quite figured out the timing on that. Also, in addition to gathering/buying resources, there are characters that may or may not help you. There's a raccoon that goes to buildings, although I never quite figured out why. There's a bear that kills ghosts. I stopped playing before I saw the rest of the zoo. In all, a lot of noise with no clear logic to it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Who is competing for whose hand? There is basically no tutorial for this game. Each round starts with the same voice over while the characters' banners say completely different things. What little tutorial is in the character exchange in the beginning of the first round and is VERY easy to miss because it is hard to tell what is storyline and what is tutorial. It is also hard to tell who is competing for whose hand. According to the tag, the princes are competing for the princess' hand. From what I could tell, the princess is battling a wizard by herself with some guys standing around doing nothing.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too many interruptions during game play This would have been a good game to play but the constant interruptions and talking during game play was so annoying I ended up deleting the game out of frustration. It totally ruined the game for me.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from This game is all over the place This game was just tooo much everything. Too much annoying conversation between characters, a zillion things happening in the background. No confirmation if a building would be upgraded it would just happen. I found everything more irritating than fun. Stopped after level 4 and won't be buying it.
