Paradise Retreat is rated 3.2 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great game What you see is what you get here. A relaxing hidden object game. I like this game, basic seek and find with the usual puzzles. When you get tired of adventure games, walking backwards and forwards over several levels, check this game out. Worth a game code.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a terrific game! I have the other version of this game and love that one too. I am 66 years old and I appreciate the bright screens of the designer. Some of the other hidden object games are too dark for me to see and I just keep using the hint. I love the side games - reminds me of the Big City Adventure games that I could also see. I love the jigsaw puzzles going to the new site. I also love the little creatures that move around - especially the little dog. What is not to love?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Puzzled, can't fathom why Puzzled, can't fathom why the bad ratings? I in last few days finished Christmas Wonderland #5 and when reading those reviews the comments were the opposite, too noisy, too much clutter and so on. Now they have a game that's the opposite and still we are not happy? - Go figure! *BTW* These game types are not old fashioned, I know of a few places that do these for our Tablets/phones etc and thank goodness they do as some of us do not have time to sit around we only have timed-breaks or by days end so tired that all we really want is something simple to wind down with. This game is bright, very clear, does NOT hurt the eyes at all and I would know as playing this on my powerful graphic/office/gaming lap-top. Very relaxing music that at times hardly hear it. No idea why so irritated by the butterflies as that's a good ploy, they actually stop you from yawning, they distract your eye/brain movement and sharpen up your focus again, yes very clever that! And some of those HIDDEN OBJECTS are really, really, really hard to find. Well just used my free game credit and in closing try it out for yourself you may like it then again you may not.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these games! I love the way these games are just hidden objects and let you skip the mini games right away. Just the way I like it. Thank you!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A challenge This is a good hidden object game. Playing it timed and with a 3 star minimum (self imposed) is a challenge. Objects are well hidden. Puzzles are fairly simple. Great game for those who love a straight no frills hidden object game.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Give it a chance I liked this game. Yes, the graphics are simplistic, but that is a style. It's actually a refreshing change from the standard looks. This is a hidden object game, interspersed with simple puzzles. No story. No need for a story. I like that the mini games are easy and don't take too much time away from the reason I got the game in the first place -- HIDDEN OBJECTS. Speaking of which, isn't that what you wanted in this game? Yes, many of the objects are difficult to find. Duh! They're hidden! What would be the point if they were all easy to spot? The zoom feature is great. I am impressed with how many things are 'hidden' in every scene: it's almost like the scene is made up of objects. I also like that the same-named objects are the same in other scenes -- it gives me something to focus on. As far as the difference in size, that too is a style. I like it. When everything is 'life-size', it's much easier to find things (therefore not really 'hidden'). For example, a keyboard would be on a desk instead of as the facade of a building. In this game, it might be large on a building one time, and tiny in a picture frame the next. This is a style and type of hidden object game. Just try it. You may like it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from NO FRILLS HOG This is a great game for people who like HOS after HOS with no adventures and other distractions in between. It is hard to find games like this that are really a Hidden Object game as opposed to those games with the same designation where you have to play for an hour or more before finally coming to a HOS. You can play games like that for hours, even finish the game, and only run into a few HOS. I'll take games like Paradise Retreat over those kinds of games every day of the week. In addition to being a game for hardcore HOG lovers, this game has other good things going for it. The graphics are crisp and bright and the objects are well hidden. I usually always play the untimed mode but after seeing that I was unable to get any of the extra trophies and only earning one star out of 3 for each scene, I tried to timed mode and found that I could easily finish the HOS and minigames well within the time limit. I finished the demo and this game is a definite buy for me and there's a big sale going on today, lucky me. Always try before you buy, of course, but this is a good, solid HOG.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from More potential than was realized This could have been a much better game with a few small changes. It had a bit of variety which was nice but all the puzzles and even the HOG parts were pretty simple. That's nice if you just want something easy to unwind but a bit more challenge would have suited me. I don't like that there were no explanations of any kind. You got 1, 2, 3 stars but you didn't know what you had to do to earn them, and then at the end of the game they were meaningless anyway. You got points and trophies but again, at the end of the game, you didn't know what the trophies represented or how the points stacked up. Maybe this was pumped out just a little too quickly? It had 66 rounds and when you got to the last one there was nothing further by way of reward, explanation, etc. Having said all that I would recommend this game for those who just want an easy way to pass some downtime.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from GOOD NEWS! IF YOU LIKED THE PUZZLES IN THEIR OTHER "SUMMER" HO GAME YOU GET TO PLAY THE EXACT SAME GAMES! Completed Demo This is by the same developer who created the summer adventure series, and I'm sure you'll get a case of deja vu because the puzzles and mini-games in this game are the same puzzles and mini-games offered in their other HO series, they are even in the exact order! As for the Hidden Object Scenes, I find it incredible that graphics can be so basic and the objects to find so large, yet so difficult to find in scenes void of color??? My curiosity got the best of me so I clicked on the CREDITS tab to see who developed these HO games. Within that tab, it had a website for the 3D Models used and the name of the music tracks and its origins. When I looked up these websites, I was blown away, they are generic software tools to help you create HO games, and...it's completely FREE to use! Yes, I'm ROFL, but at the same time, I'm also totally impressed by this guy who somehow managed to get several HO games listed on some of the largest distribution sites across the globe, all while using free software! The Hidden Object Scenes can be played in a Timed or Relaxed Mode, and you can earn up to 3 Stars, according to the amount of time it takes, but it doesn't seem to penalize you for misclicks or using the Hint feature. This is an old-fashioned Hidden Object game requiring you to find Word Text Listed items and each scene has a Zoom Zone that contains the final 2 objects ( the area has glint sparkles when the cursor hovers over the zoom zone) The items to find are very repetitive because you have to search for the same items scene after scene and those items are not proportionately sized either. A tie may be a normal-sized tie sitting next to garlic the size of a basketball. The objects can be very difficult to spot because everything has the same color scheme with very little detail, therefore nothing "jumps out at you". You can improve your star rating by replaying the scenes, but the objects to find are different each time you play. After each Hidden Object Scene, there is a simplistic mini-game available, such as a 24 piece Jigsaw Puzzle with no rotating feature, a game variation of Pipes where you click to rotate square tiles to connect a path of pipes or road sections, a Match 2 game where you click on 2 or more groups of identical objects, a word search variation with fruit images instead of actual words. You can earn up to 3 stars on the mini-games as well although I'm not sure if they are based upon the time it takes to complete the game. The games are very easy to solve so earning all 3 stars is doable.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bored within the first 5 minutes I thought this game would be more like Cruise Director or Park Ranger but sadly it's not. It is SO rudimentary. I got bored within the first 5 minutes of the trial and deleted it. The music is not fitting to the game and is annoying so I turned that off right away too. Big miss on this one Game Fish!
