Fantasy Mosaics 36: Medieval Quest is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from FM 36: The Penguins Always Rule! I have all the Fantasy Mosaics, starting with FM 15 (except FM 26, gotta fix that!), and I say they still leave all the other "griddlers" in the dust. FM 36 does not disappoint. The colors are almost all rich, deep, and vibrant -- even the ones like the less saturated, slightly lighter dusty brown (and the chocolate brown is unbelievably rich & delish, as are most of the others), just as they've been since FM 27. Developers, add colors as you wish, but please please please never ever drop the ones in these later palettes! There 's a variety of tile sets; my favorite is the one at the left end of row of selectable tiles, which I "read" as being like one of those square electrical push-button switches with a depression at the center. It looks to me like the kind of push-button on the now-old-fashioned push-button phones. It's because of the shading. Some people will probably read the shape as being a sort of cushion with sides that slope down. Personally, I appreciate the scenes between levels, which act as slight but welcome breaks, but I'm also very glad you don't have to do anything to move on. No messing w/ coins, with HO's, with puzzles or activities of any kind unless you like, and those are (so far) only available in the scene breaks toward the end of the last few games. (Haven't gotten that far yet in FM 36, because life.) And, thank fortune or the Great Frog (or the developers), no timers! Anyhow, I can dive into these and become lost in the steadiness and rhythm of the puzzles. Devs, please please please don't make innovations that will intrude on that! I don't rate the storyline because I don't pay attention to whatever "story" is suggested by the tableau in the level breaks. For me, all these games (# 27 and on) get 10* out of 5. :>))

Rated 5 out of 5 by from always the best Consistently one of the best mosaic games. I have played all 36 and I am never disappointed. A small thing but I really like that I don't have to beg to exit. So many games you have to say Yes three or four times before it finally believes you really do want to quit now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long Time Player Fantasy Mosaics are great for just relaxing. Colors are good and the difficulty is just enough to exercise your mind. I only wish there were more of them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love the Fantasy Mosaics! I am always excited when a new one comes out! Of all the Mosaic games I have tried I have found that Fantasy Mosaics gives you the most diversity and also a game theme that doesn't wear thin. Any of the games are a good place to start however if you have a young one that is looking for something less complicated, this game offers different levels and the first few game releases only have 4 colors. Fantasy Mosaics also gives you a theme for the game which allows you to build a garden / island / lab / castle to build (the game adds it automatically when you finish each new level of 5 game boards). I very much recommend this game! (for favorite games I listed only list one since there are so many that my favorite game section would read like a novel!)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from KEEP THEM COMIN' I have an older computer so many of the new games won't work; I get denied access, but so far, all the Fantasy Mosaic games work like a charm. I don't like games where I have to find things and keep inventories and read instructions and go back and forth. That is why I LOVE THESE GAMES and will recommend them to older gamers and gamers who just want to totally relax, but yet use their brains. Sure, these are fairly easy but therein lays their beauty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Always a great buy! I love these games!! I have every one in this series. I get so excited when I see another one has been released. If you have played any of the other games in the Fantasy Mosaic series, this one will not disappoint. If you haven't tried them, you might as well start with this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from why I can't buy it? I was trying to buy this game and my computer is HP and the game is not for my computer. I really think that is absurd. I love the penguins games.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid 4 star game It's Fantasy Mosaics, what else is there to say? They're good games, mostly easy to medium difficulty. They have improved, IMHO, over time. The Zen Mode is different, and a nice addition, though I usually play regular advanced. And they got rid of, for the most part, the silly stoner animals in the scenes and introduced some interactive items and mini-games, which I love. The new scenery is a HUGE improvement over the earlier games. Can't comment on the music as I play with Pandora on. The tilesets are helpful, as sometimes the colors are very hard to distinguish with the default set. I am totally addicted to picross, and the FM series comes out often enough to keep me happy. Rainbow Mosaics is my very favorite, as the challenge is a bit harder and there is a real story to them. But FM is my go to when there isn't an RM available. I play some of the others, but either they seem to have really inconsistent difficulty, you really need hints, or they have logic fails. So, not my very fave, but I still like these.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from YEA, I'M GETTING A LITTLE BORED WITH THEM TOO I've always loved the Penguin-themed mosaic games but even I will admit that it's getting to be a bit much. I've even been able to accurately predict the Penguin-Monday release date for the last several games. With that being said, they are certainly not bad games and I still recommend them to those who love mosaic games, but there are so many of them that I can literally replay any of the older games and it will seem like a brand new game at this point. The Zen Mode has returned if you prefer to solve the griddlers without all the hand/flipper holding. In Zen Mode, the numbers aren't crossed off but Mistakes aren't counted against you either, because chances are, you'll have to edit some of the cells as you switch colors. You can delete filled-in or crossed-off cells by right-clicking the cell in Zen Mode, and you'll know you have completed a particular color correctly because a checkmark will appear on the color bubble. In addition to the new Zen Mode, you can also choose to play in a Casual Mode which crosses off the cells one by one, or the Advanced Mode, which only crosses off the remaining cells once the entire row and column have been filled in. You will earn a Gold trophy if you make no mistakes, a Silver trophy if you make one mistake and a Bronze trophy if you make two mistakes. You will also earn up to three gold Stars if you don't use any hints, one star is deducted each time you use a hint. Therefore, it is possible to make a mistake or two but still earn 3 stars as long as you don't use any available hints. There are 20 Locations, and each location has 5 Griddlers each, but these particular puzzles seem really easy this time, and the colors weren't as vibrant as they were in the last Fantasy Mosaic. You can choose from 7 different tile sets, ranging in color vibrancy and styles. Locked Colors can be disabled in the Settings menu, otherwise, some of the colors are locked and unavailable until you uncover color-specific keys that are hidden beneath some of the filled-in cells The Eye feature allows you to hide the grid to get a look at the puzzle without all the grid lines, and there is a reset icon that makes it much easier to restart the level if you make a mistake. There are groups of numbers located on each column and row of the grid, each group of numbers must be separated by at least one blank or crossed off cell. Sometimes it's easier to cross-off cells that can't possibly contain a filled-in cell, which will reduce the number of cells and narrow the playing field down a bit, when you get stuck, you can switch colors and work back and forth until it's solved. Some of the cells contain bonuses such as extra hints, extra mistakes allowed or an extra pickax which allows you to choose which cell you want a hint on, and some cells contain keys to unlock colors (unless you disable this feature in settings) There is a Sun icon as well that when fully charged, will give you a mega-hint, filling in or crossing off a 3x3 area of your choice.
