Around The World Mosaics is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Around The World In 80 Mosaics What a fun, colorful Mosaics game! Mechanics are smooth and the music is delightful! I also love the "Did You Know" trivia! A great game to buy with a bonus punch!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must for Mosaic fans Having been starved this year of decent Mosaics they seem, at last, to be coming through again. This is a colourful, challenging (after the initial ones) new game from Lazy Turtle. Choice of tiles, What is different is that you can choose from the 12 countries in whatever sequence you want. Each country has a set of mosaics to complete depicting the country, and also music reflecting the country. Loved it, bought it straight away.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Same Old Complaint This game is beautifully rendered and the option to learn about the different countries is a welcome bonus. As is often the case, I found the colors to be too similar in most of the puzzles; why, with all the colors available, do so many of these games have that flaw? I also found one puzzle where I had to guess at the solution; I looked very closely but maybe I missed something as it was the only one (sorry, didn't make a note of it...). This is from playing the demo only.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Something A Little Different I enjoyed the demo and liked travelling to the various destinations with the bonus of learning a fun fact about the completed image. This mosaic game was a little less challenging, but it didn't matter because the features made it worthwhile for me. I loved that my progress can be saved when I want to call it quits for a while. I loved the undo feature and seeing the time it took to finish the puzzle. There is a generous number of free hints and a fun variety of tile choices. Colors were not as vibrant as in my top mosaic games, but not a fun-spoiler. Since I play mosaics for relaxation, Easy Mode is always my choice. My mind has enough "hard labor" with other games I own (lol). For me, it is just a lot of fun seeing the pictures materialize and being able to recognize them. The highlights on the columns and rows are not present here and I feel this is an important feature, maybe this will be added in future "Around the World" games. Although this game doesn't contain as many puzzles as I would like, I decided to add to my collection. Always looking for a newbie that adds a little more joy to my day. God Bless....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hello, Bonjour ??????, Ciao, Hola, G'day, ?????, Howdy I just took a trip around the world and discovered some interesting fun facts about France, Thailand, Italy, Mexico, Australia, Japan, the United Kingdom, and good ole' USA! This mosaic game has some great features but I think the puzzles needed to be a bit more challenging, and I didn't like the fact that the rows and columns aren't highlighted to help you with orientation. The coolest feature by far is that you can choose the Country you want to visit and then select whichever griddler you want within that country, you aren't stuck playing levels in a specific order! There are 8 different countries to visit and each country has 10 different theme-related puzzles to solve. Each griddler, within the country, is labeled to show you how many colors are used, as well as the Grid dimensions and eventually shows completed puzzle statistics such as the Time it took to complete, Stars earned, mistakes, etc. You can play in an Easy Mode which marks off cells one by one or a Hard Mode which crosses off the numbers once the entire column or row has been completed. You can also choose between 6 Tile shapes by clicking the settings icon and then choosing the "more options" icon. Another feature I liked, showed the number of cells (advancing) when you click and drag longer segments. The rows and columns don't highlight, however, when you hover the cursor over a cell which, in my opinion, is a huge oversight or flaw. You can earn up to 3 stars, a star is deducted for each mistake made, however, there is an Undo feature available that gives you 5 free undo's and I'm assuming more can be purchased with the coins earned during gameplay but I haven't used all of them yet to find out. There is also a Hint feature that gives you 5 freebies as well, but these grids are pretty easy and I doubt they will get used up. After completing a mosaic you can read a Fun Fact about whatever image was completed, and you know how I love my random fun facts lol! If the puzzles were just tad bit more challenging and the rows and columns would highlight to help keep you oriented, this would certainly be a 5-star game in my book!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from EXCELLENT FOR BEGINNERS I played the demo under the Casual difficulty setting with no sounds or music. There are only two difficulty settings and they control how the numbers above the grid are marked off; immediately when a set is completed, or only when a whole row/column has been finished. This game is definitely geared for beginners and children. The grids, tiles and numbers are large and the pics are simplistic. The number of colors used for each puzzle are numerous enough to allow for switching among the colors for easy solution of the puzzle. The colors themselves are varied, ranging from vibrant to muted. There were instances when the difference between two colors was not great, but because of the size of the puzzles, this did not create a problem. As the description indicates, various countries around the world are used to organize the puzzles. I only played the France location during the hour demo, and all the puzzles were associated with France; a mime, the Eiffel Tower, etc., and each puzzle had a "Did you know?" tab that provided information about the puzzle and its relationship to France. This provides some educational benefits along with the game play. However, after being told that lighters were invented before matches in one game, I am now leary of the accuracy of these "facts". Three stars can be earned for each puzzle, with one mistake taking away one star. However, there is an "undo" option within the game that allows you to undo your last move, making it very easy to complete the puzzle with no mistakes and thus earn 3 stars. Each puzzle has 5 of these undo moves available. I find this option a wonderful addition, particularly when my hand moves faster than my brain and my obsessive character makes it mandatory that I earn all three stars. The graphics and backgrounds are clear and crisp with very little clutter. Again, a great appeal for children. With some games, the complexity and challenge of the puzzles increase the longer you play. However, based on my hour of play and the information shown about the game in its description, I do not see that happening with this one. Therefore, I highly recommend this game only for family play and beginners.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Meh I play a lot of these type of nonogram games. My favorite series are the Rainbow Mosaics as well as the Fantasy Mosaic series, but that one has become unchallenging (that's a different review). After playing through the hour, I decided no on this one as I did with the other Around the World predecessors. It's "clunky" in controls, the screen (in full screen) is too small and I was just not enjoying it. Will wait for the next Rainbow to come out.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Should steal functionality from the competition This is a multicolor nonogram. I like that genre. But not this example. When you finish a line or column, it doesn't fill in the remaining nulls for you. Much worse, the nulls aren't already filled in for the sections that don't apply to the current color. And to top it off, you can't always pull the cursor to fill in a stretch of nulls the way you can a stretch of colors, so doing it bit by bit is both tedious and annoying--the more so the bigger the layout. I surprised myself and quit in the middle of a puzzle.
