Dreamland Solitaire: Dragon's Fury is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from NOT AS BEAUTIFUL AS THE ORIGINAL DREAMLAND SOLITAIRE AND THE DRAGON IS MIA IN THE DEMO? Completed Original Game Dragon's Fury Demo Only (Casual Standard Mode) I loved the original Dreamland Solitaire because the graphics were beautiful, the fairy was beautiful and I loved building the fairy's house in the middle of an enchanted forest, it was that particular feature that made the game so special. In Dragon's Fury, the fairy looks pale and anemic, and the inside of the fairy's house is unappealing with cartoonish graphics, definitely not as exciting as upgrading the house in the forest. I played the entire demo of Dragon's Fury and then I replayed the original game just to make sure I wasn't imagining how much I had enjoyed it, and sure enough, I enjoyed playing the solitaire levels more because I couldn't wait to upgrade the bridge, lamposts, signs, babbling brooks, etc! Everything else is the same as the original Dreamland Solitaire, as far as gameplay, bonuses, achievements, and mechanics with the exception of being able to choose from 6 Deck Card styles this time. In all fairness, I did suggest they add deck card themes on my review for the first Dreamland Solitaire, and I appreciate that the developer added this feature, but I wasn't very impressed with the deck card graphics. They are very similar to one another in style and color, all of which are brown and gold hues, and not very fairy-like at all, but perhaps that was a conscious effort to appeal to men as well? It's a fun game with fun obstacles and I probably would have purchased it immediately if I hadn't already played and loved the original so I will probably wait until Bonus Punch Monday rolls around again, to use a PCC. This is a Higher/Lower type of Solitaire Game that can be played in a Casual Mode with Standard rules, a Timed Mode where you are given a specified time limit for each turn or an Easy Mode which gives you 2 decks of cards. You get 1 Undo per level and there is Deck Card Counter and Combos will increase the index points, and there are 10 Achievements to earn. The Object is to Remove all of the Cards to earn 3 Stars (levels can be replayed) Glowing Gold Cards contain Coins and Glowing Purple Cards contain Mana. Coins are used to purchase Bonus Boosters and Number Specific Wildcards & Jokers in the Shop. Mana is used to Clean, Fix, and Decorate the inside of the Fairy's Humble Abode, which as I said earlier, has very cartoonish graphics and isn't appealing, even after the upgrades. As you progress, Obstacles are added to make the game more challenging. Plank Cards (single, double, triple planked cards) require playing the Axe Cards, Frozen Cards need to be removed Twice, Locked Cards require uncovering and using the Key, Shield Cards require removing Suit Specified Cards, and Spider Web Cards requires uncovering the flame to place on the torch which is used to shoo away the huge spider and its web. You can purchase Card Specific Wildcards or Jokers with the Coins you earn (you can earn them as well during the levels) and you can purchase a Chain Lightning Bonus (removes 3 random face-up cards) a Fireball (hits selected map) a Magic Shuffle (shuffles cards) or a bonus that allows you to Change a Card to an adjacent one. Once purchased, these can be used on any level, and they recharge as you remove cards of their specified Suit. You can also purchase Extra Cards at the start of each level, Extra Undo's, the right to use Jokers & Wildcards, Increase the Combo multiplier or receive a Faster Bonus Accelerator. In my opinion, decorating and upgrading the beautiful forest scenery was the key ingredient or feature that gave the original game the "It Factor" I wish they would have continued that feature, perhaps a new home in a new forest, even better, a new fairy and a new adventure... IF this game is about a Dragon's Fury, then the developer failed to capture the attention of the audience during the 60-minute demo because there's no mention of a dragon or its fury during the demo! Perhaps, having to rebuild the fairy's home after a dragon's fury destroyed everything in its path would have made more sense within the precious demo time-frame? Rated 4 out of 5 by from Even better than the first one! I really like this game. I play it in easy mode because I play games to relax at the end of a day of doing mentally demanding work. I like some challenge so that it's not boring, but no so much I have to think a lot. This game hits that sweet spot for me. The first reason I only gave it 4 stars was because I couldn't control the ambient sound level separately from the sound effects. (I always turn off the music in every game I play, so I can concentrate on the game itself.) I rely on the sound effects to tell me when a bonus becomes available and I enjoy hearing the cards move. Much of the ambient sound at the beginning is nice -- birds tweeting and the like, but later on there are some annoying sounds that I would like to turn off, such as wind howling, which really grates and sets my teeth on edge. The other reason for the lower rating is that there is no explanation for how the bonuses work except for how much you have to pay for them. It took me until the second time through Dreamland Solitaire (the first one in the series) to discover that I got more opportunities to create long combos when I bought the "increase combos" bonus, for example. In other solitaire games, there is a bonus that starts the combos at either a lower number of cards or at a higher level of multiplier, but this one works differently. The graphics are okay -- nothing as beautiful as in the Jewel Match series, but good enough and the cards were easy to see. The story line was a little better and not intrusive, which I liked about it. The game play was perfect for me and never hung or malfunctioned, which is a big factor on a Windows 10 computer with a 27" inch monitor! I really enjoyed the changes the developer made in terms of the kinds of obstacles one has to overcome. I think the scythes and burning walls added a lot, and were in keeping with the overall "dragon" theme. I enjoyed the bonuses and there was enough strategy involved in choosing which bonuses to buy and when to buy them to satisfy me. I liked the game play overall, and really had fun past the middle of the game when I had so many bonuses to choose from. I expect to play this one over and over again! If the developer would put the ambient sounds in a separate channel with its own control, I would be very happy to buy whatever they come up with next!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from a good M3 i had to replay some levels to get the mana and coins i wanted. if you skipped levels then you don't get either. you are rewarded with one, two or three stars. the power ups are bought with coins you earn in the levels.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from almost as good I loved the first Dreamland Solitaire and I liked this one except there were a lot of rounds were I felt the number of cards in the deck were really not enough. There were a lot of obstacles in the higher levels and too many levels I had to play them several times. So great second Dreamland but maybe give more cards in the deck for Dreamland Solitaire 3.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Aggravating Solitaire Game I purchased the first Dreamland Solitaire when it was released so when I saw this new Dragon Fury released I purchased it. Game starts great, beautiful graphics, cards easy to see, but by the time you reach level 144 there are way to many obstacles to get the cards it takes several tries to complete which is aggravating and by level 169 it is impossible to remove all the cards. Very disappointing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Why try repeating excellence from the past, It never works. This game is really a case of cheese and chalk. This went flat within the first five minutes of my loading game. I too like another reviewer reloaded "Dreamland Solitaire" to see why I was so against this latest? Sorry but I am now back playing the other one and then worked out what was annoying me, the cards in "Dragon's Fury" game are flat and blend far too much into the background. (yeah I loaded it again) We who do not have hours upon hours to sit playing and are very tired by the time we do sit down looking at a monitor (of all sorts these days) are not seeing your scene very well as they both should be very distinctive. Be in awful trouble if my gate was the same colour as the air now wouldn't I? Pennmom really says it all so not adding any more, was quite relieved to see another echoing some of my disappointment with this game, I am going to learn to never feel excitement till after playing the demo in future. *sighs*
