Mystery Solitaire: Grimm's Tales 2 is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another Great Game I love all the games by this developer. It is a relaxing up/down solitaire game to find all the gold cards. The Newbie section is for the most part fairly easy, but when you get to the professional side the game becomes more challenging. Enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Big Solitaire Favorite If you like "one up or one down" solitaire, this game is one to try. Beautiful graphics and music, and doesn't take a rule book to learn. So relaxing, yet challenging. I buy all these games because they make me happy. Not an easy thing to do these days. Great distraction.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Game Thank you Big Fish! Another solitaire game with my favorite developer. I could play solitaire all day and more! My pastime to keep my brain sharp! These games are nice and long and challenging!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mystery Solitaire: Grimm's Tales 2 I enjoy playing games through this developer and I enjoy listening to the music. If I played all games in the series then I would have given it 5* for all the games

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The criticism is justified But I still like the game. I have a soft spot for this developer because the first solitaire game and the first mosaics game I played were from this developer. They actually gave me my love for mosaics and this particular outlay of solitaire. There are far better solitaire games, but I like that this one is free of a lot of bells and whistles. The extras are sometimes so overdone that they detract from my enjoyment of the game. With that said, I do wish the dev would address the complaints made by other reviewers. The fact that they never do makes me think two things: 1) either they could care less what their players think -- which is pretty foolish if they want our money, or 2) all of their programmers have quit or been fired because they're broke, and all they have are the same old blueprints that they use over and over and make some minor adjustments to. Some of the early games use to have different backdrops for each level, then they started repeating the same backdrop throughout the game. Again, don't they have any professionals on staff that can actually make some changes to what came before? Another thing is that some of their artwork in their games is unfinished and doesn't match the name of the level at all. Once again I wonder if they just don't care or if they've lost all their competent staff. Or maybe they actually dislike their players so much that they enjoy poking their fingers in our eyes and depend on new players who haven't caught on to the fact that they just put out the same game over and over. Even though I like this game and developer, I still don't recommend it to anyone but newcomers. Again, I actually like these games and continue to buy them. So far, the artwork has been pretty in this game, but it's the same solitaire boards that they always use. I really hope they will put the suggestions other reviewers have requested into practice. They'll sell a lot more games and get a lot more positive feedback of their work if they do that. They do seem to have addressed a few of the complaints over time. Some of their games aren't so stingy with the number of cards they give, and I for one am very grateful for that. But please, address the other complaints -- for your sake and ours. If you do, I promise to buy all of your games and give you positive, 5-star reviews and praise the fact you finally made the long-requested changes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Solitaire Personally, I like cards that are easy to see without all the graphic distractions. If I want graphics, I'll play a 'Story" game. Obviously, play will seem similar from game to game because that's what this is -- there's only so many ways to arrange the cards. When I like a certain playing style, I look forward to more of the same, rather than replaying one. So, I'm happy to play very similar games. As far as the music goes, I don't get 'pirate' at all! It's fittingly, sometimes eerie, fairy tale music. I played 6 levels and I'll be adding this one to my solitaire collection.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stay true to Classic The gameplay is the Dev's signature style. I Give them a thumbs up on Graphic improvements, the background scenery is much clearer & sharper, keep coming with the improvements and stay true to your gameplay, because not everyone wants lots to do in a simple basic 1 up 1 down solitaire game, i do wish the Dev's would implement an option for a match 2 solitaire game, I've always loved those...

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Don't Be Surprised If You've Played This Game Before! Grimm's Tales 2 is just like the other 4 games in the series. This dev has turned a blind eye to making any changes that would certainly make this a more appealing game. It's crazy that a few improvements can't be added. Our simple suggestions and requests always go unanswered. It's a pretty plain and simple solitaire and I dislike that the tutorial makes your plays for you (turn it off) you won't miss anything, the Gold Cards are back that end the game once removed, and you must complete the Newbie Mode to earn the replay option. The features are minimal and don't add anything special to the game. It becomes boring too soon. Solitaire isn't typically full of bells and whistles but it should contain something to keep it interesting and enhance the entertainment level. Strategy plays and skills seldom get a chance to be used here. This series misses the mark on numerous counts. If you are unfamiliar with Mystery Solitaire, you might find it entertaining and ample enough to fill your needs. If looking for something more substantial that will test your skills and provide some relaxing enjoyment, I think you will be disappointed. The game has a variety of card backs and fronts, Bonus Cards, Obstacle Cards, Newbie and Professional Modes, and a required number of points to open the next pack of 10 levels. The graphics are okay, the music not so good. I experienced no tech issues. The demo is a good indicator of what to expect, maybe you'll be pleased. I wasn't. If we had a Rotten Tomatoes category, this game would be a suitable entry, IMO. There are better quality solitaire games on the market. Why do we see them so rarely at BFG?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from THERE'S PIRATE-THEMED MUSIC? WHERE'S THE GRIMM TALES STORYLINE? OH, I GET IT, THAT'S THE "MYSTERY" Like its predecessors, The Black Raven, Cthulhu Mythos and Arkham's Spirits, Grimm Tales is just another cookie-cutter version of all the other solitaire games by this dev. Once again, this is a Solitaire version where the game ends once all of the Gold Cards have been removed. I just don't understand why they can't make an adjustment to allow the option of continuing to play for points once all of the gold cards have been removed, how difficult can that be? (and I'm sure they would sell more games that way) The features never change on games by this dev, the features included in the first solitaire game they released will be the same features offered in their latest solitaire game 8 years later! You can choose from 9 uninteresting themed card backs and 3 different face card fonts. You are forced to begin the game in Newbie mode, which allows you to replay any hand, then, if you prefer, you can switch to the Professional mode which only allows you to replay the entire pack of 10 levels. You need to earn the specified amount of points to unlock the next pack, and the scoring is similar to bowling, in the event of a perfect score, the points of that level are added to the next. Another feature I don't like in this devs games is that the tutorial makes you click another card off of the deck even though there are several playable card options available on the board. (but then again, you don't really need a tutorial if you have played any other solitaire game by this dev) I'm reluctant to skip the tutorial just in case they have added a new feature, which never happens, but one never knows, and I remain hopeful. I also hate that when you remove a Bonus card with a Swirly Gem it takes forever to explain what the card gives you, as it freezes continued gameplay to tell you what you won. Most of the time it gives you +499 extra points, but occasionally, a Joker, Mulligan or a Shuffle, because it takes so long, finding two of these cards back to back is super agonizing! If you own or have played any games by this dev, you've more than likely already played this one because they are all identical, you just can't tell the difference between them, and there's certainly no "storyline" much less a Grimm Tales storyline.
