Paint By Numbers 3 is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Much Better I got the last one, and have enjoyed it. I could not get into the one before that. But this one is just so much better than the last. For one thing, their gray out is much easier to see than the last, the hint button, worked great for me the colors oh my, they also are great. I bought and played this companies hidden object games and they were really great, but now with this paint by numbers, they are really showing they have multi talent in the game field. They ever do the glass paint it will be on. It's is a buy for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It just keeps getting better Oh my gosh, I didn't realize that the 3rd installment came out already! While I agree with another reviewer in that I, too, would like to see a bit of a change-up of the art, filling in the paint was so much fun! Especially with the new background color slider and the ability to drag the paints across the fill-ins.. I see that Paint by Numbers 4 is available, and I'm off to buy it! Like right this second. :D :D

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BRIGHT, BRILLIANT COLORS, NOT SEEN IN PREVIOUS VERSIONS I have Paint-by-numbers 1 & 2 and enjoy both of them. But, in my opinion, this is the best of the 3 and for one simple fact: THE COLORS ARE BEAUTIFUL This is one of the MAJOR reasons for choosing my games. I don't prefer the games that are on the 'dark' side, whether it be by the type of game, or more importantly, the dark, drab scenes. If you want a care-free, easy-going game, and one that offers you the joy of working with beautiful colors than this game is for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mostly Praises Here! I was delighted to see this new Paint By Numbers today and made a beeline to the Buy Button. This game genre is my go-to when I am having my evening coffee and listening to the silence. What better way to be creative, too, when I haven't one artistic brain cell working, by day's end. The game is working smoothly on my PC, no problems with the previous 2 releases. I like the different shapes in the pictures and the images I have finished so far are nice and colorful. Unless a color is "muddy" I appreciate all tones and shades of the vast palette, IMO bright and bold is not always a good thing. Coloring is my favorite hobby and though I can't customize the pictures here, it is still quite enjoyable. Paint By Numbers is fun, relaxing and challenging. The challenge for me is mostly due to the too-big cursor. There are just a few changes I would like to see...the cursor needs to be a smaller different shape & more precise, we definitely need MORE images, larger would be nice and not so many teeny-tiny pieces which are a real pain sometimes. Just as with Pixel Art, I prefer the more intricate busy designs with lots of colors involved. The challenge is very satisfying. We are seeing more complexity in Pixel Art and I am sure that Paint By Number will bring this about as well. Overall, I really like this game and will buy them all. There are many more available that Big Fish is very slow on delivering, including Pixel Art. I am very happy with today's release, unlike my cats who prefer playing with my colored pencils and laying on my books! Oh well, can't please everyone!! Give the demo a whirl. If you haven't tried this kind of game before and are into Zen, you may have found a new goodie!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'm so pleased that there is a 3rd "Paint By Numbers" game. The "paintings" are quite pleasing AND if the player needs to leave before their "painting" is done, it is SAVED! Yes, I know the background can be difficult at times & that it isn't always easy to find that last area or 2 to be painted, but the player can always go to the next color or use a hint. As w/any game, one size does not fit all. Try it 1st, that's what so great w/the free trial.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better than the previous one I am new to this genre and bought Paint by Numbers 2 and 3. I think this one is an improvement on the previous one, but I would like to have it be less like stained glass and more like painting. I also tried Pixel Art 8 by the same developer, which had better color variations and more of a painterly feel, but it was too pixelated to be pretty except for the larger items, which then looked like impressionist art when zoomed out. It took me a while to figure out how to zoom in on those tiny spaces and what the background color picker did, but once I figured that out, I really started getting into this and enjoyed the relaxing quality. I now am using this with headphones because the music is so soothing, too. I don't know if it's possible for the developer to provide more colors to choose from or (dare I hope?) to allow ME to choose the colors instead of having so many pieces be the same color, but I would like to have those options if possible. Overall, I like this game a lot and will probably buy the new ones when they come out. That being said, the versions that are available at Big Fish only have 64 images, and I saw a version of this one on another site that says it has 100 images, like the Pixel Art games do, so that may be why some others have said the game is over too soon.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Loving Coloring I was happy to see another paint by number. I enjoy coloring. What I don't care for about this third one is the fact that I can't look at all the pictures without completing each level. Kind of like buying a pig in a poke. Plus, I don't color ALL the pictures, just the ones I really like. In any case, I bought this one. I do wish they'd have better pictures, more scenery, mandalas, etc instead of just a few. As for the coloring, I've seen better. Not a lot of symmetry in the finished work in a lot of them. But I suppose children might play these color games, so some of the pictures are pretty simple. Now that I'm done complaining, I DO enjoy these paint by number, and hope to see more of them. I didn't see this one until it showed up as an ad on my BF game list, so I was surprised to see it. I look forward to seeing more. It's so enjoyable!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I'D LIKE TO SEE MORE INTERESTING PICTURES BUT OTHERWISE ANOTHER GREAT PAINT BY NUMBERS GAME! The difference between Pixel Art and Paint by Numbers is that these games are more traditional with areas to color rather than square pixels. In the first game, there were slightly different shades between areas that really made the images pop with vivid shades of orange, yellow, pink, purple, etc. (just look at the image shown of the lizard on #1) the second game had really ugly colors with no shade variations. This third edition has much better colors but the pictures aren't that interesting, but I realize it's a work in progress figuring out what the Paint by Numbers fans like and dislike. Here's a few suggestions I'd like to see added *The cursor is way too large and bulky, especially when trying to fill in those teeny-tiny areas. It would be nice to have at least 2 cursors "tip" options, preferably cursors of various art media, such as a colored pencil tip, a fountain pen tip, or a sharpie marker tip. *At least some of the images should be larger images, after all, we can drag the image around to get to other areas. *The images need to have symmetrical or geometrical patterns versus doors & windows, dots, and impossible to see blurbs. *Let us choose the color of the background with an actual Color Palette & let us choose the color of the current number highlighted areas which are currently a dark grey (if we can't choose the color of the highlighted area DO NOT use fill in colors in the same shades of gray or black!) *The black outlines need to be much thinner so they don't stick out like a sore thumb and take away from the beauty of the completed picture (which is also confusing when trying to differentiate between that grey highlighted current color...again give us the choice of current highlighted colors) *The colors need to be crazy, the colors need shading variations, do away with areas to fill in the size of a fist (we aren't toddlers) Choose images of animals or scenery that can allow you to take advantage of all the color hues...you know how to contact me :) Some of the areas to fill are super tiny which makes it difficult to see the numbers, however, if you scan the mouse over a section it will show that particular number above the cursor and it's large enough for anyone to see easily. It can be difficult to fill in some of those smaller areas simply because the cursor is so large and bulky. As I said earlier, if the areas to fill were geometrical or symmetrical this could be avoided altogether. There is also a Hint button that will point to any missed areas of the current color, without penalty. There's not a whole lot to have to figure out, it's about as uncomplicated and basic as it gets. Paint By Numbers is a computer version of Oil or Colored Pencil Paint by Numbers, and actually closer to the real thing than the Pixel Art versions. Each area has a number and you simply chose the corresponding color bubble from the palette (also numbered) on the right side, left-click to fill in all the numbers with the correct color. There is a Slider Bar that allows you to zoom in & out (there's a "fit" tab as well) you can also move the entire page around by right-clicking and dragging. There is also a slider bar that allows you to change the color of the background, but it really only allows you to change the colors in shades of grey or black. It would make more sense to have an entire color scale available on a paint by numbers game though, wouldn't it? I would love to see a "texture" feature added that would mimic different paint variations as well. Keep an open mind, it isn't supposed to be a brain-burner kind of game. It's a very basic and rudimentary game that's just supposed to take you out of the hectic zone for a bit. I'm still a Pixel Art & Paint by Numbers fan, but Paint by Numbers is flawed and not consistent. I was constantly having issues with the screen zooming in and out all by itself which became annoying. I prefer Paint by Numbers vs. Pixel Art because it's closer to the "real deal" and I'm certain that a few tweaks could make this version an amazing and zenful game! ? Rated 4 out of 5 by from My First Paint By Number This is the first paint by number game I have played. I enjoyed it mostly. The only problem was that the areas that are highlighted to be painted are the same color as the background. I wish the background color and the area that highlights to be painted were different colors.
