Paint By Numbers 3 is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from So much fun! I have all three of these games and look forward to more. This last installment is the best one. I love the bright colors. I love that you can change the background color. I find that this comes in handy when trying to find the very small pieces. I also like the new ability to hold the mouse down and just glide over multiple areas instead of having to click each individual number as in previous versions. This gesture seems more like "painting" to me. Overall, a really good game. Can't wait for the next one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Waiting for number 4 Just finished this one. Waiting eagerly for the next. Just wish there were more pictures that are like intricate paintings, like landscapes, etc, instead of some of the sillier ones. I like the ones that look like stained glass, also.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Much Better I got the last one, and have enjoyed it. I could not get into the one before that. But this one is just so much better than the last. For one thing, their gray out is much easier to see than the last, the hint button, worked great for me the colors oh my, they also are great. I bought and played this companies hidden object games and they were really great, but now with this paint by numbers, they are really showing they have multi talent in the game field. They ever do the glass paint it will be on. It's is a buy for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It just keeps getting better Oh my gosh, I didn't realize that the 3rd installment came out already! While I agree with another reviewer in that I, too, would like to see a bit of a change-up of the art, filling in the paint was so much fun! Especially with the new background color slider and the ability to drag the paints across the fill-ins.. I see that Paint by Numbers 4 is available, and I'm off to buy it! Like right this second. :D :D

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BRIGHT, BRILLIANT COLORS, NOT SEEN IN PREVIOUS VERSIONS I have Paint-by-numbers 1 & 2 and enjoy both of them. But, in my opinion, this is the best of the 3 and for one simple fact: THE COLORS ARE BEAUTIFUL This is one of the MAJOR reasons for choosing my games. I don't prefer the games that are on the 'dark' side, whether it be by the type of game, or more importantly, the dark, drab scenes. If you want a care-free, easy-going game, and one that offers you the joy of working with beautiful colors than this game is for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mostly Praises Here! I was delighted to see this new Paint By Numbers today and made a beeline to the Buy Button. This game genre is my go-to when I am having my evening coffee and listening to the silence. What better way to be creative, too, when I haven't one artistic brain cell working, by day's end. The game is working smoothly on my PC, no problems with the previous 2 releases. I like the different shapes in the pictures and the images I have finished so far are nice and colorful. Unless a color is "muddy" I appreciate all tones and shades of the vast palette, IMO bright and bold is not always a good thing. Coloring is my favorite hobby and though I can't customize the pictures here, it is still quite enjoyable. Paint By Numbers is fun, relaxing and challenging. The challenge for me is mostly due to the too-big cursor. There are just a few changes I would like to see...the cursor needs to be a smaller different shape & more precise, we definitely need MORE images, larger would be nice and not so many teeny-tiny pieces which are a real pain sometimes. Just as with Pixel Art, I prefer the more intricate busy designs with lots of colors involved. The challenge is very satisfying. We are seeing more complexity in Pixel Art and I am sure that Paint By Number will bring this about as well. Overall, I really like this game and will buy them all. There are many more available that Big Fish is very slow on delivering, including Pixel Art. I am very happy with today's release, unlike my cats who prefer playing with my colored pencils and laying on my books! Oh well, can't please everyone!! Give the demo a whirl. If you haven't tried this kind of game before and are into Zen, you may have found a new goodie!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'm so pleased that there is a 3rd "Paint By Numbers" game. The "paintings" are quite pleasing AND if the player needs to leave before their "painting" is done, it is SAVED! Yes, I know the background can be difficult at times & that it isn't always easy to find that last area or 2 to be painted, but the player can always go to the next color or use a hint. As w/any game, one size does not fit all. Try it 1st, that's what so great w/the free trial.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from GREAT IMPROVEMENT MAKES GAME EASIER TO PLAY I just accidentally found out about a great improvement to this series of games. Now, instead of having to click on every single area, one at a time, you can now click and drag across all the areas for a given color number. Even better, once you have started dragging, you don't have to keep holding down the left button. And the game is intelligent enough to know when you drag into a different color's area and does not do a thing to that other area. So for those beautifully detailed pics with all those hundreds of tiny, unconnected areas, you can now fill them with one click and drag. Awesome! Thinking that I had missed this function in the previous two games, I went back and checked but they did have this click and drag option. Now we need to get Big Fish to offer us all the other games in this Paint by Number series. They are fun and relaxing, not requiring too much thought and you can let your mind wander. The resulting pics are beautiful, particularly the ones that have so much detail. One question I do have is, why do we have to finish all the pics in one section before we can proceed to the next one? Sometimes I'm not in the mood or I don't have the time to do one of the detailed, complex pics and would like to find a simpler, easier one instead. Can this be changed? If I remember correctly, the Pixel Art games by the same developer do not require this. Don't give up on the Paint by Number games until you have tried Game 3 and experienced this great improvement in game play. As always, try before you buy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like this version I haven't tried the other 2 releases of Paint by Number but I have (and like) Pixel Art. I also play Happy Color on my phone (for hours) and this game is very much like Happy Color. Pixel Art's coloring in of squares is mind-numbing fun, but coloring actual pictures is more satisfying to me. So I'm going to have to look for the first and second games. I totally agree with the previous comments about the cursor. I would get hand cramps if I had to manhandle my mouse for hours trying to color in the teeny spots. After 45 minutes of clicking on the same little spots, I found that if I waited until the color number floated above it, I wouldn't have to click over and over. I like Penmom's idea of making the cursor a paintbrush or marker or something that would be actually coloring. Thinner outlines would make the pictures more pleasing to the eye. The background in various shades of gray is functional, but hard to determine which places still have numbers when the color you're using is also gray. I would suggest making the marking on the color a print of some type rather than the same as the background. I look forward to playing more of these games!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better than the previous one I am new to this genre and bought Paint by Numbers 2 and 3. I think this one is an improvement on the previous one, but I would like to have it be less like stained glass and more like painting. I also tried Pixel Art 8 by the same developer, which had better color variations and more of a painterly feel, but it was too pixelated to be pretty except for the larger items, which then looked like impressionist art when zoomed out. It took me a while to figure out how to zoom in on those tiny spaces and what the background color picker did, but once I figured that out, I really started getting into this and enjoyed the relaxing quality. I now am using this with headphones because the music is so soothing, too. I don't know if it's possible for the developer to provide more colors to choose from or (dare I hope?) to allow ME to choose the colors instead of having so many pieces be the same color, but I would like to have those options if possible. Overall, I like this game a lot and will probably buy the new ones when they come out. That being said, the versions that are available at Big Fish only have 64 images, and I saw a version of this one on another site that says it has 100 images, like the Pixel Art games do, so that may be why some others have said the game is over too soon.
