Dig The Ground 3 is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best one yet. More things to do This game is not perfect, but I love it. The gameplay itself is a chain type match in which you clear the way for water to get to your fruit and bring it to life. (it will sparkle) It is very similar with that an 'elements' game or other gardening games, but in this one there are some new features that make it a lot of fun, and pretty busy. When I first started I ticked the timed box (it seems to be set on casual unless you pick) and I was rubbish at it and my fruit turned to clay.. Then I remembered this is NOT a match 3, you only require 2 tiles to clear them. And then I was pretty good at it lol. In this one every now and then your icons (just for a short while..so be quick) change to various bonuses if you incorporate them into a match with the colour they are.. A pitchfork that will clear a whole row in the direction it is pointing or a slingshot that fires off random clearing arrows. These can be very important if you catch them as they can get rid of obstacles that would otherwise need incredibly large matches to clear. Instead of a match of 10, a good pitchfork will clear the way for you. This keeps you very busy and hopeful scanning the board thoroughly. Be very careful as you go..as you cannot backtrack. If you pass a piece of fruit without watering it, you will not get your full stars. Its a balance of careful vs speed. Also in this you can buy some cute little animals and place them in their homes with the coin you earn on your levels. Just a cute little aside to play with. I found the tutorial sincerely lacking, a single page that just told you a bit about the features. But you will figure out that large matches make bigger explosions and for those that require a nuclear explosion your tiles will show you when you have got enough (hope for a pitchfork really lol) And to reach the level map you must exit back to the main menu or it automatically launches the next level. So you can replay..just go back I find it colourful, fun and a great little time waster that makes me smile. Enjoy

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WHERE'S MY SHOVEL? This is a chain type Match 3 game which is my least favorite style, but with this game dragging chains has a purpose and you see your progress instantaneously as the ground breaks away allowing the water to freely flow. Before you know it, you get totally hooked. The goal is to make matches of 3 or more tiles to break away the dirt, creating a path for the water to flow to all of the fruit and finally to the flower at the end of the path. There's actually a lot of strategies involved because you have to manipulate the water flow to go in several directions and you can't go back up, only down, right or left. The longer the chain, the bigger the explosion! You can make small chains of elements containing at least 3 identical elements which will destroy the dirt tiles if matched adjacent to it, and it helps to keep the water flowing, and can sometimes make room for larger matches. Matches of 5 or more create an explosion starting with a small bomb, the larger the chain is, the larger the explosion is, all the way up to a nuclear bomb! The radius of the explosion is shown before you release the chain so you'll know exactly what will be affected by the subsequent explosion. Chains can be made vertically, horizontally, diagonally or any combination within and you'll want to use this to your advantage, for example, releasing an explosion at the end. in the middle of nowhere, may not accomplish anything, it may be more beneficial if the chain is reversed so that the explosion actually hits something. You start the game at the top of the board and work your way down, but some levels go from left to right, or take sharp turns, starting in one direction and then up, right, left, etc. You must break all of the ground tiles above the line, as you do, the line moves and more of the board is exposed. You want to plan your explosions, and the Nuclear Tiles require a very large match to get a Nuclear Bomb. (I believe around 14 tiles?) This game isn't going to be everybody's cup of T......NT, but I thoroughly enjoyed playing this unique Match 3 game. For me, it gives meaning to making Matches, There are two modes of difficulty Expert or Timed Mode. Rated 5 out of 5 by from More levels this time The previous game had only 25 levels but there are 40 here which is an improvement. There are 3 modes of difficulty. It always starts in relaxed which is the green start button but you can change to timed or expert and you start on which level you choose where you left off so you can in effect switch from relaxed to expert and resume where you left off on each level which in some games you can not do that so that is a nice touch. You can buy puppies and kittens but do not bother with that while in demo it just takes up valuable demo time. it can be a bit frustrating at times when you need a nuclear explosion to break through as you need a rather large chain of at least 13 or 14 but remember you can go diagonally with this game as well as the normal left right up and down. They have added pitchforks and catapults to this game. The pitchfork takes out a straight line and the catapult various individual tiles but you need to be quick when they flash to make a chain as they do not last long. All in all this is a great game. Maybe not everyones thing but I love it .Could do with a bit more clearer instructions but you will soon get the idea

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I've waited so long for this sequel I love this series and figured I would just go ahead with expert mode since it didn't say what was different between that and "play" I found it much easier than the first in this series-when you click on one color it shows all the options available to you which wasn't an option in the previous ones. For that reason I marked the challenge level lower.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Winner I noticed this game when Dig the Ground 2 came out, but I passed it by. I am currently totally obsessed with a couple of the 4 Elements games that I cannot stop playing. When I realized the similarity between Dig and Ground and 4 Elements, I took a very serious look at this game when it became available. I knew I needed some input from other reviewers, so I waited a few hours until some reviews were posted. After I read them, I went back and finished the demo as the reviews were very helpful with a couple of things in particular. Needless to say, I purchased it as soon as the demo was over. Terrific game and loads of fun. I don't think I'll go back and pick up the previous two Dig the Ground games, but I will be on the outlook for #4. This is a seriously fun game that makes you think hard enough to knock a few cob webs out of the gray matter, but not so much that it gives you a tension headache. Also, a key factor in my purchase was that I can play in an untimed mode. If it was available only as a timed game, I wouldn't consider purchasing it at all, no matter how much fun it happened to be.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Harder Than It Looks First time playing this series. Getting the water to flow where you need toward each fruit is not that easy You can make matches diagonally as well as straight across or down. There are pitch forks that help to make match 3's and the typical obstacles - dirt, etc.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from How do you exit the game? I liked this game and would like to buy it. The problem is, I wanted to leave the game and saw no "X" or button saying, "exit" ????? Also, the music drove me bonkers. I had to turn it off.
