The Deceptive Daggers: Solitaire Murder Mystery is rated 2.7 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Deceptive Daggers: Solitaire Murder Mystery I enjoyed playing this game because it involved more than dealing with the cards. The only thing I didn't like was the scatter hidden object part. It would help if the timer was knocked off or a relaxed option for slower people. I enjoy playing games through this developer

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Change from the norm.. Based on the demo, as I'm still on the fence with this one. Interesting take on the solitaire genre. Decent amount of challenge and mini games throughout. The one down spot is that I couldn't find how to skip the mahjong mini games on every level. Apparently this level must be played to progress through the story. I DO NOT like mahjong in any way shape or form...I mean, I REALLY don't like mahjong...and being forced to play the mini game in order to progress, is a real bummer, and worthy of losing a star. If there were a way to just skip it without penalty , this would probably be a 5 star. (Hopefully, I'm just missing the go-around for this)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from DOESN'T HAVE A "WOW" FACTOR, BUT DEFINITELY PURCHASE WORTHY This is a decent Solitaire game that isn't super challenging but it has a lot of variety to break up the monotony, such as, puzzles, mahjong, and some fairly challenging Clutter style Hidden Objects Scenes. It does allow you to replay levels if you don't earn all 3 "Badges" or stars, which is a must-have Solitaire feature as far as I'm concerned. Even though I wasn't blown away with excitement, I used a PCC to purchase it and I'm enjoying the game still. There are over 100 Solitaire levels and plenty of HO's and puzzles, so I feel like the game is purchase worthy. You can choose Regular Simple Card Graphics or Themed Cards which have various police-related or investigative equipment on them, such as handcuffs, batons, computers, suspects and detective agents. In the last Detective Solitaire game by this developer, you could choose from 3 different types of Solitaire games or have all 3 Mixed together, a Pair Solitaire type requiring you to match pairs of cards either with each other or with the deck card, a Sum type Solitaire which required you to select two cards whose sum is 14 when added together, and a Traditional, Higher/Lower type Solitaire. I was highly disappointed that there were no solitaire options this time, it's either a Higher/Lower type or an actual Mahjong game with mahjong tiles rather than cards. (you have to play the Mahjong on several of the solitaire levels, it's not a skippable mini-game) Mahjong is my least favorite genre of all games, but this particular Mahjong was pretty decent and the tikes are very traditional. There are 2 Detective Boosters that will hold 2 tiles until they can be used. The Investigation begins by playing Solitaire levels until you earn the required amount of "Clues" (48) which are square puzzle pieces. Once you have all the clues or puzzle pieces you play a mini-game puzzle variation of either rotating the squares or swapping squares to complete the image which "reveals" the criminal. Between Solitaire Levels you will play a Clutter-type Hidden Object Scene of various types, such as finding objects with just a small flashlight beam or finding objects that are presented one by one. The objects aren't always the same size or color as the pictured items. Power Booster Cards are located at the bottom left as "Agents" that can be used once they charge. You can use them to Remove a Random Open Card or Remove a Random Closed Card by shooting them, or Add 2 Random Wild Cards to the field. Number specific Wild Cards are available in just about every level and stored until you need that specific number, multiples of the Wildcards are shown above the card slots as well. I have played for a few hours and so far there is only one type of Obstacle Card, Police Tape Cards that require uncovering the Search Warrant to remove the tape. The "Good Luck-Bad Luck Cards have returned and they are on most levels. Good Luck Card reward you with Coins, Bad Luck Cards disable one of the Booster Agents for the entire level. It's a decent game, just not a blow your socks off kind of game, but it is an enjoyable and relaxing solitaire to pass the time. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Oddlly addictive I wasn't crazy about the animation and I LOATHE Mahjong, BUT.. I couldn't stop playing. Seriously, I sat all freaking day playing this game because I like solitaire, I liked the hidden object games and I just HAD to find out who did it! It had me hooked! And I think I'll play it again!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hooked! I am glad to have purchased this great solitaire. Excellent storyline, beautiful graphics. Challenging. The gameplay of solitaire is excellent, the hidden objects are good, but I found the mahjong a little hard for my taste. I would have replace the design by numbers, or let us the players decide what we like more (I put too much time in it and I am a bit deceived by that). But the rest is to say the least excellent! Try it before buying it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from No More Magnifying Glasses ! I purchased this game yesterday as I have enjoyed the previous games. This one with the magnifying glass to try to find the hidden objects is terrible, I am an older person with vision problems and that magnifying glass feature increases them. To many HOPS in this game, no reason for Mahjong to be here except as filler stick to straight up solitaire.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Mahjong was the deal breaker for me I have one other game from this series. I was thoroughly enjoying the demo when I came upon the first mahjong game. I had to spend a ridiculous amount of time on it and wasted too much of the demo time on it. I am not a huge mahjong fan and when I had to replay it the third time - that was the death blow to this game. I uninstalled it pronto. Such a shame as I would have purchased the game otherwise. Either take the mahjong out or give me a "skip" option. Otherwise, no sale for me. Other than that, it's an enjoyable game. I'm on the fence about recommending it - if you love mahjong, you will feel differently about the game than I did.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Relaxing Game, A Bit Different Not very challenging, basic high/low, several choices for card styles, contains a variety of games that I don't feel add anything special, except they will help ease the "ho-hums" of playing through the 100 solitaire levels. Mini games are okay but I really hate mahjong and found it cannot be skipped and that just irritates the heck out of me. 48 clues have to be found in the form of puzzle pieces in order to advance to a mini puzzle that when completed, exposes the criminal. There are wild cards in most levels, the booster cards have to be charged before using, I liked the Good and Bad Luck Cards, and the Police Tape seems to be the only obstacle card so far and the Search Warrant card is needed to remove the tape. The levels can be replayed to help you earn all 3 stars, I always appreciate that. I am enjoying playing even though it isn't what I typically go for when I look for a solitaire game. Just playing my solitaire collection to death and looking for something a little different, I purchased with coupon. I think it will serve me well when I need a little down time from a busy day.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointing Double Whammy I am not a fan of the "clutter" style HO's but when you have to find the objects in that mess with just a flashlight, well that makes it a definite "no buy" for me. I have the previous editions of this game, 'Double Clue: Solitaire Stories', and 'Wedding Gone Wrong: Solitaire Murder Mystery' and they're my go-to games whenever I'm bored. Unfortunately this version does not allow you to choose which type of solitaire you wish to play, which is a feature I thoroughly enjoyed and set it apart from most of the other solitaire games imo.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Almost Really Fun I've played others similar to this and enjoy the solitaire a lot. The majong's ok. This hidden object is a problem. I'm a whole picture person so I can't stand it when my vision is limited to one small area. It's hard on my eyes. If that section shows all the objects, I can't see the shadowed objects to be located so I just start clicking away, and that works. I started each suspect session up to that point and will slowly work my way thru them. They definitely spoil an otherwise totally fun, relaxing game.
