Roads of Time is rated 2.6 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Maybe the same, maybe not I am currently playing Roads of Time and I like it! Ok, maybe it's a lot like the other Strategy/Time Management games and maybe it's a little too "simplistic" for lots of folks, but I've had to restart several levels while playing because I trapped myself without adequate resources to move ahead, sooooo...you DO have to strategize your moves and I'm not finding that in some of the most recent games I've purchased. I like the graphics and boy do the guys move fast when you activate the speed bonus! Poking ahead on the map, I see there are several additional levels to be played, so I'm thinking this is a great little game without the collector's edition price!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Game to Pass The Time Away! Just a short pop in to say that this is an enjoyable game to pass the time away. The graphics are good and the challenge is figuring out the best way to get three stars. You really have to figure out the best way to play before starting the game. I had to play several levels more than once to achieve 3-stars.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from More detailed review I saw the horrible reviews but have played this series in the past so decided to do a quick check. Only played through the tutorial so far. The graphics are pleasing, colorful. The music is good however would have enjoyed a more time piece sounds. The story line is comical with the absent minded professor relying on his artificial intelligence so you have all of the humerus interactions from that. I like that the storyline does not drag out or interfere with game play. The challenge is similar, there are still two or three ways to achieve three stars but you will actually have to think and redo a level if you use the material in the wrong pattern which is the norm for TM games. Definitely buying this to add to my already purchased games from the series. Please give this game a try before assuming the other reviews are all there is. its a pleasant game experience.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This Developer is Improving I enjoyed playing this game and can tell this developer is improving in his/her skill level. I have tried this developer's games in the past, and they were slow-moving and the levels didn't add any complexity or challenge. This storyline is more interesting and as an expert TM player, I was challenged on a couple of the levels to figure out where to go first to get the resources needed to advance in the level and finish it. It's fun and offers more creatively than previous games from this company.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK but not the best game ever After having to restart level 3 for the third time I finally quit the game, glad I was still in the trial mode. If you do not do everything perfect and in order you have to restart as there is no way to finish the level, this is annoying. The worse aspect of the game, however, is the sounds. Every time you click the mouse you get an annoying sound. I hate playing games without the sound on but had to shut it off after level one of this game. Really was looking forward to a good time-management game but this one, sadly, is not it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good way to pass the day but too easy Being stuck here due to the pandemic, I always welcome a time management game. For experienced players, this game was super easy to complete every level at 3 stars. The only strategizing comes with resource planning and route planning. There were no bugs/glitches in the standard version and there are 50 levels.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Where's the Wild Adventure? Along with a simplistic and repetitive music track and an annoying machine-like sound whenever an action is taking place, Roads of Time is not what it touts; that it's a "wild adventure across ancient Egypt..." There is nothing wild about the game. No imagination, no characters to attach to or care about, no surprises, and no sense of accomplishment when a three-star level is reached. It was more of a feeling of relief that I got through the level. The graphics are modern and interesting for a few minutes, but in the long-term, boring. Art and clever don't necessarily make for good gaming, especially in this case. So sad.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from This is quite awful - What were they thinking?? By the 3rd level of this I was more than ready to give up, but I stuck with it for several more - the game did not improve. I'm not sure why whoever makes this doesn't realize what players do/don't like, but clearly there's a disconnect here. Maybe they should beta test these games to get a feel for what might be annoying or pointless. Literally all you do is click, hear awful sounds, click, wait, click. There's no redeeming quality to this game. Its painful to play, and made me wonder if I were experiencing the tail end of bad karma. Sure, clicking on a place on the screen and then seeing some sort of action happen is something our ancestors would've been amazed by - but by now, players have come to expect something just a bit more.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Obsolete This time travel game must have been developed a decade ago. There is no relaxed mode. You can't hover the cursor over something to find out what it is and what it requires. The graphics are simplistic and boring. The music is repetitive and annoying. I didn't even finish level one before deleting it and going back to replay Faraway Planets. I'm going stir crazy and was willing to settle for a game with nothing special, but this game doesn't even get the basics right.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from TAKE ROUTE 66 INSTEAD, TAKE THE LONG WAY HOME, TAKE THAT ROAD TOWARDS THE CREEPY HOUSE, WHATEVER IT TAKES TO PUT ROADS OF TIME IN THE REAR-VIEW MIRROR I don't understand why BF keeps offering these incredibly boring TM games from the same developer who's constantly offering the same games over and over with nothing more than a different title. Even though they keep changing the title, they are all still the same...still boring. Are these guys so out of touch with what players actually like, or do they just not care? This game is so tedious and so boring that I couldn't finish the demo, it felt like a dreadful chore that I just wanted to get done so I could enjoy life again! That's pretty bad, folks :( There are 60 Main Levels, kudos to anyone able to complete them! The CE version claims to have Extra CE levels but they can't be accessed until the main game is completed, which tells me they're hiding its worthiness because it isn't. This feature can be found on the level Map on the top right, as a purple swirl icon. There are 22 Trophy Achievements as well. You can earn up to 3-Stars per level but I didn't find a Game Difficulty Mode setting (not that you'll need one) The tasks are boring and all involve sending a little robot to do the dirty work...until you build huts for the locals only to enslave them in the crystal mines...REALLY??? The Collector's Edition version has a mysterious number of Bonus Levels, 6 Music Soundtracks, 17 Concept Art Pictures, and a Built-In Strategy Guide...hardly worthy of the extra price, but then again, this version isn't exactly a lotta bang 4 UR buck either.
