Immortal Love: Stone Beauty Collector's Edition is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cry No Tears – This is a Valentine’s Treat! Based on demo: I have greatly been anticipating this game, and was not disappointed. I am pleased to see that though the company has changed/merged – the quality, beautiful graphics, amount of collectibles, and intriguing storyline have not - and Immortal Love games remain a favorite. The game was an adventure from the word “go”. Story immersive, and had me eager to proceed to see what would happen next. I did not want to quit at demo’s end. The artwork is lovely, the music their trademark accompaniment, also lovely – the gameplay fun. Mini games provided a bit of challenge, a bit of thought, but were not too difficult - exactly as I like them. Same with HOS, which held an interesting variety. The gimmick used worked with story and fit in well – a coveted artifact (which the order that is hunting you wants) and which you feed crystal tears to, received throughout game. It tells a portion of backstory plot with each tear, but then goes a step further providing a HOS where you must determine what the next step should be in your quest after finding the list items shown. A nice bit of variety there, which led to the next step in progression of game and was in keeping with the adventure. Morphs (2 per scene) were interesting, in that they stayed in each state between 10 seconds and 25 seconds (with a 1 second changeover), the number always changing – so it made it more of a hunt to seek them out. I liked that. They were a challenge to find, in that the objects resembled each other in shape and size, sometimes color – nicely done! (I enjoy hunting for my morphs and not just having them blink at me like rapid neon lights when I enter a scene.) The transparent animals (also 2 per scene) blended in well. Collectibles are always a treat with this series. There is no option to go back and collect them post game, but with a sidebar showing how many are left in each scene and a jump map also showing any missing ones not yet picked up, it's easy to clear area of all collectibles before moving on and having previous scenes blocked. Perhaps the only thing I would change/ask for – is a journal. One of the mini games required you to remember a name from one of the notes previously read – and I couldn’t, (perhaps because I was so sucked into gameplay at the time. lol) I tried different combinations, finally coming up with the right one, but it would have been nice to look in a journal for notes kept there to see it. And now, I’m off to buy this fun and lovely Valentine - I recommend trying the demo to see if Immortal Love is for you as well!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I SIMPLY CAN’T RESIST AN IMMORTAL LOVE GAME Wow, I do love games from this developer and this one is another testament to what I find excellent. In this latest Immortal Love game there is a beautiful love story that has a returning young sea Captain returning to claim his beloved Bella, only to find her missing under strange circumstances. As he searches for his beloved, he is helped by a magical amulet that might have its own agenda. Will the amulet help reunite him with his beloved? At this point I need to say that I love dogs and own my own little pack of canines BUT I really, really wish that the developer would stop doing the huge tongue lick at the beginning of some of its games when we first encounter our canine pal. I mean, this is really disgusting, and I close my eyes for a minute until the dog backs off. I don’t let my own dogs lick my face and I certainly don’t want to see it in a game! Okay, rant over for now. The HOS in the game are very well designed and all of them seem to be very creative. Even the puzzles are well integrated into the game. I far prefer the HOS to the puzzles although the ones in Stone Beauty are very entertaining and are certainly not brain drains. In fact, most of the game seemed to flow well and seemed quite relaxing. I absolutely enjoyed everything about Stone Beauty and think it is an excellent game. Of course, this is only my opinion and I don’t expect everyone to agree with me. The Immortal Love games have always been some of my favorite games and this one is no exception. Stone Beauty might not be the best in the series, but the games now are shorter so it’s difficult to compare it with the some of the older and longer games. Even though the game is not overly long it still is a quality game. This developer has always created excellent games and Immortal Love Stone Beauty continues that tradition. I purchased the game as soon as it was ready for download and I did not regret it. Although it is a perfect game for me and the way I like to play, please try the demo to see if it is a game that you will enjoy as well. Happy gaming!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from All fine but... I love games from this developer and this game is very entertaining, has a good storyline and very beautiful graphics, etc. - but if i have to play another game from them with this "give me a tear/a token/a what so ever ... and i tell you a story"-function, i will stop with playing. It was a nice feature in the Living Legends, but not it spreads to other games of this developer, and this is a sign that they rely too much on what worked well in the past and are not innovative anymore. So please... no more of this and i love your work just as i used to.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sculpting a satisfactory story This review is based on the sample. This series is now well established but if you are new to this then the format is similar to most of the other 4 Friends game. The presentation is powerful - many hues and colours, the story line is exclusive and interesting - see other reviews - but not 100 percent believable. The maps are good but I was disappointed by the small playing area, but to make up for that the games are quite intense and 4 friends put games where others don't - they crop up unexpectedly, and that's okay except it does pause the action too frequently. I liked the game very much but I'm not sure you'd want to spend the extra money on a collector's edition. I'm rating this 4 stars but I'd give the ordinary edition 5 stars.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hidden Object Game The main game was okay. Not very long considering it is a Collector's Edition. However, the Bonus Game was the shortest one I have ever played. Why bother?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Stones made from sand with magical properties!! Friendly Fox (formerly 4Friends Games) is one of my favorite developers but for some reason, I wasn't wowed by this game. It had its wonderful moments and some clever puzzles. I just finished the entire game of this CE version. When you complete the Bonus Game you can open up a hidden object scene searching for silhouette items. Upon completing the Bonus Game, I saw that I only had 52 of the 58 collectibles (animals) and was able to find the remaining ones and then was able to play the bonus hidden object scene. I did collect all the morphing objects beforehand, which is not my forte actually. Searching for hidden animals and morphing objects was rather tedious but fun to do. Nice graphics but not the best I've seen from these devs. Some of it was elementary and the movement of objects was odd at times. Many of the hidden objects were small and hard to decipher but I didn't use the hint button once. I guess that was a challenge in and of itself. Good map though; voiceovers were good, but with names like Cesare, Ricardo, Mario, Giovanni, Lucia, and Bella, I expected an Italian accent thrown in now and then. I may have heard one if I'm not mistaken. Maybe I imagined it! I don't mind the fact that another developer had a game involving tears as well. No big deal to me! I do recommend this game.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Since When Is ... This may sound familiar: People disappearing, bad guys in medieval masks and long robes, translucent collectibles and morphs, and a talking artifact that needs to be fed some item to talk to you! Since when is a copycat game a good thing? Apparently it happens when you use the same gimmick for games in different series as long as you put them out every two weeks or so! You can use as much or as little of the previous games as you want because no one will notice. (Or we aren't supposed to see it.) Two weeks ago we had a Living Legends game with a clock that demanded crystal tears and now an artifact that wants crystal tears - red this time. You start the game as you are arriving from a journey and recap for the player what they need to know - just like the Living Legends game - and shortly you are being chased by the bad guys, an evil order of masked and robed artists instead of the evil Cinderella of Living Legends. I kept having a sense I'd done this before - and we have! After complaining for so long about copycat games, someone has figured out a way to put a spin on it to make it seem like a good thing! Not just for this game, but for multiple series' games! So we have an average game with much that is overly familiar. I'm trying to talk myself into buying the new "spin," but not having much luck. Please play the demo. If this is your very first 4 Friends/ Friendly Fox game, you may find it different.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from HOW MANY TEARS MUST I CRY? Completed Game approximately 4.5 hours (including completion of all mini-games & CE Bonus Chapter) 19 Scene Locations +8 CE Bonus Chapter Difficulty Range: Beginner Cesare was the most talented Sculptor in Italy and it was an honor if you were chosen as his model because you had to enter and win his beauty contest first. Unfortunately, those beautiful models seemed to have all vanished into thin air, could the infamous Cesare be using a taboo ritual to create beautiful sculptures that come to life? Collectibles/Morphing Objects: (CE version only) Each scene has 2 of those famous 4Friends Opaque Collectibles that are really well-blended into the scenery and one of my personal favorite collectibles overall. (my all-time favorite CE feature are non-linear morphs from the original DP series) There are 54 Opaque Animals which unlocks 5 Porcelain Animal Figurines when you find 5-10-24-45-54 Opaque Animal Figurines. Each scene also has two Morphing Objects, some of which are very well-hidden and challenging to spot at first glance. There is an available pull-out Tab on the left side that tells you how many morphs & collectibles remain in each scene. Gadget/Helper: How many tears must I cry? This is one of those features that everyone went crazy on when 4 Friends first offered the gadget that required a tear. Personally, I LOVED the Dragon Gadget offered in a previous game because...well, who doesn't like baby dragons? He wrapped around your wrist and revealed a story with each scale replaced, and every game in every series by this developer now has the same scenario with a gadget that requires Tears, crystal tears, ruby tears, sapphire tears, emerald tears, dragon tears, gargoyle tears, eye of newt tears, you get the picture, right? This time the gadget is named Eve and her super-powers allow her to bestow life itself. Once again, Eve requires a Tear of Perfection to bestow her super-powers upon its master, whomever it may be. You will feed Eve 5 Tears during the game (Carlo-Lucia-Miner-Bella-Ricardo) to hear a backstory and play a small HO scene and interact with various items in the room Hidden Object Scenes: There are 22 Hidden Object Scenes +7 in the CE Bonus Chapter. The scenes are clear and located in interesting locations, and the objects are fairly well-hidden There are Interactive List Finds, Silhouetted Shape Finds, Keywords in Sentence Finds, Replace Items, and Spot the Difference Finds available. There are no alternate puzzles offered. Mini-Games: There are 19 Mini-Games +4 in the CE Bonus Chapter. The games are on the easy-side of the spectrum with a high percentage of them being simple puzzle variations such as placing picture fragments, dragging vertical strips or turning disk segments. Bonus Chapter: (CE version only) Oh boy, it's going to be one of those days where nothing goes right. You are creating an exquisite sculpture of a gargoyle when it unexpectedly comes to life. You are accused of a taboo crime and go on the lam to figure out what went wrong and clear your name. This is an average-length Bonus Chapter that takes place over 8 Scene Locations and you will continue searching for the final 16 Opaque Animal Figurines and 16 Morphing Objects which will unlock the final Porcelain Animals in your collection. Collector's Edition Version Extra's 8 Wallpapers, 28 Concept Art Pictures, 6 Screensavers, 6 Music Soundtracks, 34 Movie Video Cutscenes, 20 Achievements (10 achievements are available in 3 category progressions) 13 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 13 Replayable Mini-Games, 54 Opaque Animal Figurines (2 per scene) 54 Morphing Objects (2 per scene) 5 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a Built-In Strategy Guide. Rated 3 out of 5 by from HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY! A GAME TO WARM EVEN A STONE-COLD HEART REVIEW BASED UPON THE ENTIRE GAME (My Time: 5 Hours) 5 Chapters Plus a Bonus Chapter – Strategy Guide: 37 pages OPINION: Captain! You have been anticipating returning to your Italian village, Genova, to see your beloved, Bella. However, upon arrival, you discover she has disappeared! Her disappearance is tied to a beauty contest sponsored by the renown sculptor, Cesare. Search for Bella as you uncover the stone-cold truth about this misguided sculptor, his obsession with a statue named Gloria, and the secrets of an artifact named Eva. Solve the mystery behind the disappearance of your beloved Bella and others from the village. With the story, graphics, and musical background, this game exudes romance and eternal love! This is a fantastic game for Valentine’s Day! It is also a HOP lover’s dream with more HOP scenes than mini-games. Nevertheless, there are not many of either within the game. It is a short game; however, it is creatively designed with a well-written story. This game should get the player into the mood for Valentine’s Day. It is an easy play which should appeal to all members of the family. There are two collectibles, animals and morphing objects. There are fifty-four (54) of each within the game - two of each per scene. There is a sidebar indicating how many of the collectibles are left within the scene to be collected. I found some of the objects difficult to locate. Many of the animals are almost transparent, well-hidden within the scenes. At the end of the game, there is an extra HOP scene which can be played in which the player searches for fragments of various objects. Get help from a gimmicky artifact named Eva who provides the ability to foresee events. It is activated by the tears collected from characters from the game. Play a HOP scene allowing the player to decide his/her next course of action. There are twenty-seven (27) HOP scenes and nineteen (19) mini-games. There are thirteen (13) of each which can be replayed at the end of the game. The HOP scenes within the main game vary in design and all are highly interactive. There are a few mini-HOP scenes as well. I found most of the HOP scenes creatively designed. I found most of the mini-games easy. Being a puzzle aficionada, my only complaint is that there are few mini-games. It is a decent game; however, for me, I prefer games which are more puzzle intense. MECHANICS: • 4 levels of play including a customized version. • 20 achievements. • Collect 54 animals to exchange for 5 animal statues (2 each per scene) • Collect 54 morphing objects (2 each per scene) • A final HOP scene available at the end of the game • 8 wallpapers and 6 screensavers along with concept art, music and video sequences • Gimmicky artifact named Eva which provides the ability to foresee events, activated by the tears from the game’s characters. • Replay 13 HOP scenes and 13 mini-games BONUS CHAPTER: It is another story. You are at the Sculptor’s School taking an admittance test to see if you qualify for entrance into the school. Everyone is to sculpt a statue. However, when your gargoyle statue comes to life, you find yourself being branded a criminal. Escape and discover what caused this statue to come to life. The antics of the doe-eyed adorable gargoyle are the saving grace for this chapter. I found it somewhat boring. There are seven (7) HOP scenes and all of them are lists of items. One of the scenes is used twice in succession. There are only four (4) mini-games. It is a long chapter but except for the inclusion of the baby gargoyle, I feel this chapter is not worthy of an editor’s choice designation SPOILERS: HERE ARE SOME OF THE PUZZLES AFTER THE DEMO: A. Match-3 game. Remove a specified number of 4 different colored tokens from a grid in only 14 moves. B. Switch puzzle. Switch pieces on a grid to restore a map C. Sequence puzzle. Move 8 snakes so each one is on the same row as its match at the left side of the screen. D. Matching puzzle. Match up pearls hidden behind shells. E. Sliding tiles. Move tiles so each one is in its matching colored slot. 4X increases in difficulty BONUS CHAPTER: F. Connection puzzle. Connect like colored stones on a grid without crossing lines. 3X G. Maze puzzle. Lead 3 balls through a circular maze to the exit in the middle of the circle.
