Dark City: Dublin Collector's Edition is rated 3.2 out of 5 by 32.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Erin Go Bragh! Don't look for anything deep here- I mean we're talking about Leprechauns. I'm playing another game that deals with ancient aliens, so don't look for that kind of depth in this game. But, it's still lots of fun- terrific graphics, befitting ambient music, Irish accents that are believable enough. The HOGs aren't annoying nor are they junk piles, The puzzles- which I love -are fun and just thought provoking enough. I love the collectibles and morphs- easy enough to find. This is just a fun game- light and airy and a great way to spend time gaming when your brain is just a little too tired after the hunt for the pot o' gold. I am enjoying this game- a good turn for Friends 4 Games. I've always enjoyed their Dark City series...and this little leprechaun is no different! :-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from FUN TO PLAY!!! I really enjoyed playing this game! My 5 year old granddaughter thought it was great fun also. I have 4 main things I rate a game on: Graphics: Fantastic Storyline: Very intriguing!! I want to find out how this story ends! (I have only finished the demo so far) The developers have written a story that doesn't have any paranormal stuff in sight! This game is proving to me that it can be done. A game can be interesting and fun without all the witches and demons! Mini-games: Unique and challenging enough to make them fun. Fun Factor: When you combine all of the previous criteria together and you end up with the "Wow" factor then you have a 5 star game!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lucky Leprechauns and Lucky Me! Based on the demo, I will be purchasing this game! I enjoyed searching for the collectibles, loved the artwork and the storyline is intriguing so it's a definite buy for me! Plus, the mini games are just perfect as they aren't too overly hard...I do enough thinking at work and don't want to be frustrated by a mini game at home! I don't understand the negative reviews about this game as the developers obviously put a lot of time and effort into it to create a story with lush detailed scenes, research, a sense of humour along with a bonus story and extras for a decent price. I love Duncan lol and the mumbling of the supposed "leprechaun" as he ran through the train station really cracked me up...I am easily amused and pretty sure my stomach makes that same noise when I am hungry. lol This is really a treat for the eyes and plenty 'o fun for me!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WHO DOESN'T LIKE LEPRECHAUNS? I enjoyed the demo and plan to purchase the game. I love stories with leprechauns and Irish theme. The music was very relaxing and I enjoyed listening to it when playing the mini games or HOPs. The graphics were really good also. I look forward to playing this game during St. Patrick time of year. Good change from the everyday games.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not to dark in Dullin I liked the game. It was a little easier than others but some times it is nice not to be lost. The game does seem to be shorter than the other DArk City games. The bonus was a little short also. I used the hint button couple of times mostly to make sure I did every thing. It was a bit easier than the others so not for Experts or the smart ones but it is entertaining I think. Try the game first before you buy it or on sale.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A POT O’ GAMING GOLD REVIEW BASED UPON THE ENTIRE GAME 5 Chapters Plus a Bonus Chapter – Strategy Guide: 37 pages (My time: 6-1/2 hours) Happy St. Patrick’s Day Detective! Your services have been requested by the Constable of Dublin to investigate a series of robberies. Residents of the city have reported seeing tiny men dressed in green at each of these robberies. Could some rascally leprechauns be behind these robberies? Are they searching for their pots o' gold? Or is there a mastermind behind the scene? Be prepared! Nothing is as it appears, and a surprise ending awaits! What a fantastic game, one which should get you into the St. Patrick’s Day spirit! The game is “wearin’ of the green” - all decked out for St. Patrick’s Day. It is filled with shamrocks, leprechauns, Celtic knots, and a host of other Irish symbolism. The Gaelic musical background should get the player in the mood for this festive holiday. It is a fast-paced game with beautiful graphics. I found the story excellent and was completely surprised by the ending. This is a great family game. The puzzles and activities should appeal to all ages. Even the villains are tame fare. They are more misguided than evil. The collectibles are morphing objects and shamrock coins. I found both easy to locate. There is one of each in every scene. There is a bar displayed at the left side of the screen indicating if the collectibles have been found within the scene. If all the collectibles are found, an extra puzzle is opened at the end of the game. There is an all-seeing eye on the inventory bar. It lights up when you need to investigate evidence. It is followed with a list of items to locate and a narrative indicating how those items are related to the case at hand. There are an equal number of HOP scenes and mini-games. There are twenty-nine (29) of each. Eleven (11) min-games and ten (10) HOP scenes can be replayed at the end of the game. The puzzles vary in style, with most being on the easier side. There are some creatively designed ones in this game – ones even the younger set might enjoy. The HOP scenes are principally lists of items and silhouette. However, they are highly interactive, with some containing puzzles. MECHANICS: • Four (4) levels of play including a customized version. • 24 achievements. • Collect 27 coins and 27 morphing objects. Play an extra game if you get all collectibles • 7 wallpapers along with concept art, music and video sequences • All-seeing eye. It lights up it when deductions are made about the case. • Replay 11 mini-games and 10 HOP scenes at the end of the game BONUS CHAPTER: It is a sequel. The Constable of Dublin has again requested your services. A banshee has been seen victimizing the descendants of four families. She appears within their homes and seems to be searching for something from each of these families. Discover the truth about this woman in white and the motives behind this case. I found this chapter a decent addition to the game and worth the price of a collector’s edition. There are three (3) mini-games and ten (10) HOP scenes. My only complaint with the chapter is the excessive number of HOP scenes in comparison to the mini-games. I would have rather played more mini-games than HOP scenes. Nevertheless, they are of the same excellent quality as those within the main game. SPOILERS: HERE ARE SOME OF THE MIN-GAMES AFTER THE DEMO: A. Maze puzzle. Move two leprechauns through a maze, moving both at the same time until both land on coins in the center of the grid simultaneously B. Sequence puzzle. Play notes on a piano in sequence as per given instructions C. Paint puzzle. Paint a picture using clues within the picture for the proper colors to use. D. Gear puzzle. Switch gears so they intermesh with each other. E. Switch books so that the colors on their spines match the colors above them on the bookcase F. Switch puzzle. Switch garments so that each of 5 fairytale figures are dressed in their proper attire. BONUS CHAPTER: G. Maze puzzle. Go through Dublin streets making choices which way to go until reaching the exit. H. Match 3. Match 3 or more of your 3 assigned colored tokens to fill up 3 tubes. If you run out of moves, you must fill up your opponent’s tubes with his color matches.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The accents were terrible, but the game was fun I don't look for too much challenge in my games (life is challenging enough), so this was a relaxing play. It didn't take very long to get through it, which was slightly disappointing, but then there's the bonus chapter which I've not done yet. I thought the graphics were nicely done, the historical clothing looked reasonably accurate. But could you not get at least one actual Irish person to do your voices?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light Hearted and an Enjoyable Game I was somewhat surprised and I like this game as much as I did. No dark and mouldy glowing corpse flowing around in dark dungeons. The gameplay was really borderline easy for me but I did enjoy it. The characters were okay and the collectables really too easy to find for the most part but some were really well hidden :) If you are looking for something that is casual easy between more intense games you should give this one a try ! I am giving this on a ****+ out of a possible 5 ***** on my personal enjoyability scale :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Surprised how much I enjoyed it! I had done the demo and wasn't all that impressed with the game. But when the sale was offered today, I decided to go ahead and purchase. I'm glad I did, as it was fun and I really enjoyed the storyline. My biggest complaint would be the visual quality was lacking a bit. The accents were pretty decent I thought and the games just challenging enough to keep me interested without making me throw my hands up in defeat. Being stuck in the house on St. Paddy's Day, at least I got to play an Irish game. Give this game a chance!
