Cursed House 8 is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 29.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blast Cursed House! I'm really enjoying this latest version of Cursed House - I look forward to every new version and this one is no different. Of course, it has a different look this time around, and at first I thought it was going to be easy based on the new 'appearance' of the levels, but I was mistaken. The further in I get, the more challenging. I won't repeat previous reviews, but suffice it to say that this one, like the others, will offer countless hours of enjoyment - and of course, some frustration, but that's what makes latest installment - like the last one - so fun!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW!!!! Another magnificant Match 3 I won't repeat everyone else. As soon as I saw it, I bought it, then played. WOW! Wracked my brain on Level 19 already. It's a toughie, but extremely challenging & will take longer for me to complete unlike the other games. Great developer! I have "all" of their games. Love them!! It's about time for another great Match 3!! You came through on this one!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love all of these I have all of the previous Cursed House games and was thrilled to see a new one today. Instant buy. These are always wonderfully crafted games. The developers always keep some of the old and familiar, but always add new and imaginative features. I believe that's one of the secrets to the success of a really good game series. The help guide in the upper left corner is always very good, too, and there are various ways to play depending on how much of a challenge you are looking for. Another hallmark of a great game series, IMHO. The hidden object scenes are ridiculously difficult, but I really enjoy them, too. I never ever listen to the music with any of my games, but I do listen to it on the Cursed Houses. There is something so beautifully haunting about it. That's saying a lot coming from me. There are no down sides to the Cursed House games. I am always so delighted when a new one comes out. Between Mystika 4 and this new Cursed House, I am in Match 3 Heaven!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not your old Cursed House After 7 iterations of basically the same game, you'd think it would be same old, same old. Definitely not here! It's got the same basic (lack of) storyline - the house is haunted and you have to get coins to buy amulets to fix it. What's different this time is that they've really upped the challenge by setting the levels up in a way that makes you think before solving it, not just automatically matching 3 and eventually getting it done. There's a replay button that pops up if you've done something that makes it harder or impossible to solve the level, but you can keep playing and may be able to work it out. The board layouts are so much different and more interesting than the previous games, and you will have to use power ups to get to some of the parts of the board. There's a new minigame using a beetle to push diamonds into marked squares without getting him stuck. Finally, there are multiple difficulty options. You can choose a standard or difficult match-3 and separately choose relaxed, limited time, or limited moves. This is a much better game than the past ones, but has enough similarities so that if you liked the old ones, you'll love this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Eighth Is A Charm Cursed House is back with an 8th edition and yes it's wonderful. This is an unique Match3 game set apart from other games of this genre by it's intense strategy. From the start the levels are challenging. If you are new to this series you'll need to reference the guidebook often but don't get discouraged as this game is worth it. This edition has new icons, layouts, and a new mini-game is introduced where you guide diamonds into slots using the lady bugs. There are several modes of plays including a relaxed setting and there is a hint button. Cheers!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Dev NEVER disappoints No 8 and you may be thinking that they can't improve much more yet they always do and they listen to the reviews. Yes the mechanisms are very similar but the challenge is always there and the first few levels you think, been there done that but then your mind is going to have to start really thinking(Or mine does) There is new game play where the bug has to push the tiles into their slots which makes you think yet gives your mind a rest from the main game. Then the challenge really starts and you need to think. May pay to play in relaxed first while you work it out then go for it. on a harder level. To get the most out of the demo I always use relax anyway and skip all the mini games just to get further in the demo. For me there is no question of buying. I have all the previous and am a big fan. You think because the mechanisms are similar you would get bored with it but not me. You know when a game is good when the demo runs out on you and you can't beleive an hour has gone. I need to buy now and get back to the challenge. Enjoy,I know I will. @nd day running a great match 3 so the M3 fans will be happy

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply the best I am not going to repeat others who gave all the details about game play. Just wanted to say that I spent the most enjoyable day wracking my brain to figure out how to pass some levels. This is not just an ordinary match-three which you play to pass time, this is a challenging and inventive game, your little grey cells will have to work hard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I HATE THAT I LOVE THIS CURSED HOUSE! Will I ever banish the demons of this Cursed House? Is the developer determined to make me a permanent resident of this evil establishment with the most mind-numbing, hair-raising, most wicked challenging edition ever? Did the Cursed House have anything to do with the Internet Crashing on the entire burb grid today? I suspect an evil entity has wormed its way through the fi-optic network and there may be no way to stop this evil curse. My only suggestion is to add a tinfoil hat to our arsenal of N-95 mask attire and hope for the best as we battle these wretched demons and de-curse those wretched coins! The High Difficulty mode has returned. In this mode, some parts will be impassible or will take too long to complete if you do things in the wrong order, and there are no pop-up hints available. In Casual mode, you won't require as many power-ups to complete levels and there are no impassible levels. Both modes can be played in a Timed Mode, a Limited Moves Mode (which I recommend) or a Relaxed untimed Mode and you can switch between modes to help you beat difficult levels. A Match 4 will give you Dynamite and a Match 5, 6, 7 will give you a Morphing Power-up (just click when it's on the desired power-up) The Morphing Power-up choices include a Dynamite Barrel, Lightning which removes all of one kind of tile, or a Rocket which targets objects from most important to least important depending on what obstacles remain. The chosen morph can be canceled within 10 seconds by right-clicking. Power-ups are usually a critical component because most coins are blocked by obstacles that require a power-up to destroy them, and most often by a specific power-up. Collecting Coins is always the goal and there are several different types of Coins that can be collected with an adjacent match but usually blocked by an obstacle that requires a specific power-up: $~Gold Coins: adjacent match $~Dust Coins: adjacent match twice $~Frozen Coins: direct Fire to melt (also works on Snow) $~Trunk Coins: adjacent match (collect all to open Trunks. $~Locked Coins: collect the key coin. $~Coin Molds: move gold drops to fill the molds. $~Half Coins: clear a path between halves until they adjoin. $~Bug Coins: destroy the bugs to unlock the coin. There are Obstacles that require using strategies to overcome. Lots and lots of Obstacles, some old, some new, but always challenging: ?~Magnets: will magnetize all rocket power-ups and lightning ?~Bombs: requires adjacent match, Lightning or Cannons to detonate. ?~Darkness: requires a direct ray of light (light is reflected by mirrors) ?~Trunks: collect all Trunk Coins then make an adjacent match near Trunk to open. ?~Crates: adjacent match or power-up. ?~Shielded Crates: adjacent match near unshielded sides or power-up. ?~Cannon: adjacent match next to the wick. ?~Bugs: use power-ups or cannons to destroy them. ?~Vials: move liquid drops to fill vials that block areas. ?~Papyrus: make matches in the sequence shown on the papyrus. ?~Ground Tiles: make an adjacent match. ?~Lava Stones: use power-ups or cannon to destroy them. ?~Fog: adjacent match or cannons. ?~Ice: make a match with the tile inside the Ice. ?~Snow: adjacent match or fire ?~Chains: adjacent match or cannons. ?~Shields: remove the required number of specified tiles shown inside the bubble. ?~Red & Green Cells: adjacent matches or power-ups. ?~Red & Green Hot Stones: remove all Red & Green Cells. ?~Locks: create a path for the Key towards the Lock. ?~Electricity Emitters: create a continuous path of Blue tiles from Emitter to Bulb. (single adjacent electricity tiles can be moved into place) After playing a few Match 3 levels you can play a Mini-Game that does include a Skip feature. My personal favorites are the Spot The Differences scenes which I think they do an incredible job of making the obvious not-so-obvious. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Match-3 Done Right I was so excited to see this new installment today...I love this developer and have every one of their games! Their match-3 layouts are creative, colorful, and challenging...I often sit and look at each new layout trying to figure out the best way to solve it before I start, as there is so much going on! The mini-games are fun as well...I really like the hidden object and find-the-difference games, as they are often quite challenging. Most match-3 games are redundant, but this developer knows how to do match-3 the right way!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from CHALLENGING GAME This developer amazes every time with new icons and added features. Yes, some of the things are the same: fire, blocks, lightening, etc. but it is fun to figure out how to win. I usually skip the matching panels but play the solitaire.
