Roads of Rome: New Generation III Collector's Edition is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 49.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Moves Like Molasses I'm a huge fan of this series, which is one reason I'm so disappointed by the game mechanics this time around. Put simply, it's SLOW. The workers kind of AMBLE from place to place--even using the cobbler only speeds them up what would be normal pace in the earlier games. As a result, you spend a lot of time just staring at the screen, watching time tick down as the workers plod along to wherever you've sent them. What's also frustrating is that the game clock hasn't been adjusted accordingly--I generally am able to get Expert in RoR games, and when I'm not it's because my strategy needs to be adjusted. Here, even with sound strategy, I'm struggling to hit Expert on the Easy setting, because the little people just. won't. hurry. Other elements of the game are very sound--much in line with previous entries. So I really hope an update is coming that will make gameplay more responsive and less sluggish. I'm not sure I'll bother finishing otherwise.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Error Messages Prevent staying in the game This is such a great game. I've played all the way through and now I am going back and trying to get gold on all the levels. Unfortunately, when I finish a level I have to close the game and restart it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointment I LOVE the RoR games. LOVE. This was a huge disappointment for me. I hate that the screen scrolls - I find this very distracting while playing and prefer for everything to fit on one screen and don't want to be constantly scrolling back and forth. I also finished below the line on nearly every level, and I'm someone who almost always finishes before time runs out or very close to it. The scrolling adds a level of difficulty that I just didn't enjoy. Dear developer - please make everything static on one screen!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Level 32 Stopped The Game Like others have said, the game has become a lumber loader and crashes at the end of each level. The workers move slowly. The good thing you can click forward, then have a sandwich or whatever. The graphics are poor. I could care less about a storyline, so that's up to you. Got to level 32 and found I was stuck right at the beginning. Came looking for a Guide and found nothing. So I have to leave the game unfinished and that really tics me off. I wouldn't recommend it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Crashes constantly I'm a big fan of the Roads of Rome series. They've always been good, solid TM games, so I was excited to see a new one had been released. And at first glance, it seems to be another solid game in the series; your workers do seem to move much slower than they used to, but that's nothing that can't be overcome. However, all other factors are overshadowed by one massive, glaring flaw: THIS. GAME. CRASHES. CONSTANTLY. Every single time I complete a level, it crashes. When I try to restart a level, it usually crashes. Sometimes it even crashes right in the middle of a level. And all these crashes just suck all the fun out of the game -- how can I feel a sense of accomplishment from conquering a particularly hard level, when it immediately kicks me out with an error message every time? To add insult to injury, if it crashes after completing the last level in an episode, you're cheated out of seeing the between-episodes comic, and of course there's no way to replay it. I wanted to like this game. I really did. But all these constant crashes are just unacceptable. It boggles the mind how such a fundamentally BROKEN game could have ever been green-lit for release.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Save $$ and purchase another game. Loved all previous editions, not this one. Multiple crashes with every use

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Miss the old Roads of Rome Used to love this series, but now it's just boring and generic. The men move so slow even when they get the little shoe that makes them move faster. This is one series that got worse instead of better. Wanted to like it, but found myself bored.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not funny game I hve tried to played some levels, but it is not an easy game and funny game, it is really awful. For me, it is impossible to pass the level 23 with the user in easy mode. This should be easier.
