Garden City Collector's Edition is rated 2.8 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from A surprising improvement There are a lot of different things going on here than the normal from this developer. The graphics are not brilliant but it shows they have made an effort to improve things, A couple of times I had to try again as I went down the wrong route. Love the granny but not sure about the dodgy guy who pops into places to motivate people. Quite how he motivates people the mind boggles. I am not sure though if this is CE worthy as there are only 10 extra levels. There is a fairly good strategy guide which is an improvement on what we normally get and the art, well, not impressed. This was getting quite challenging towards the end of the demo so am in 2 minds as to buy this or wait. All in I think this is a valiant effort to try and improve things.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hooray!..a decent game at last from this developer! Not sure if they got some help or just stole a few ideas but at last after many many one or two star deserving games we finally have a game involving strategy, some level of warmth, new features and some CE bling! Its not hard to know by sight who makes this game, but there are all new features and feeling of 'well its quite cute', and the strategy begins quite early if you head off the wrong way you will run out of resources. Basically you are making a garden in each scene after clearing the road of some materials and spurting water hydrants (you may also have to fix a mechanic's van as it is often a broken down lawn mower in your way lol) There are production buildings, water tower, materials, glove factory (because you cant work without them) and a 'motivational centre' where the aristocrat lives...(a merrymaker really) who speeds up production. There are cute features like ducks who need Grandma Ranger's house to be built to round them up, beehives to restore, the flowers to plant, and there is money to collect along the way, but beware picking up the coins can take time and materials from your goals. With the loot you can do up 'The Manor'..(remind you of some other garden game inc with money on the path and a scene to do up?..it even looks like it!) But the graphics are not as good. There are only two modes, timed and relaxed, there are achievements, nine music tracks, and concept art. On each level there is a small treasure to find that will add a few seconds to your timer if you are running out. There are 40 levels and only ten bonus (called secret levels) they are just 'more levels' but they are mixed in on the screen so you don't have a 'main game' and then the bonus ones. And most of all..finally..A STRATEGY GUIDE! both text and numbers. Such a great surprise to find the huge leap in quality of this game, but still not of the quality of the game many of the ideas have come from, so not 5 stars, but I really do like it and its keeping me really thinking. If you watch your goals, often you don't have to complete clearing things, and you have to ignore gathering things that you don't need too. So for once I have bought a game from this crew after such a long time of 'same same' games...something new! Enjoy!.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good but.... Ok game better than some. It would be nice tho if there were a forum. Stuck on a level and can't find anything online anywhere that has any help! So frustrated! Maybe if i could find some tips i could give this a better score.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from WHAT'S THIS, THERE'S COLOR EVERYWHERE, WHAT'S THIS, I CAN'T BELIEVE MY EYES, I MUST BE DREAMING, OH COULD IT BE I GOT MY WISH?..."jack" I couldn't help but think about Jack singing What's This" in The Nightmare Before Christmas the first time he experienced that warm and fuzzy feeling because that's exactly how I felt. I was "floored" when I started playing this Time Management game because I was expecting the normal garbage but it's actually a decent game with a lot of strategies involved. It isn't a blow your socks off kind of game but compared to the normal flare this developer usually offers, it's leaps and bounds ahead. You can play in an Easy or Casual Mode of Difficulty over 4 Worlds with 10 Standard Levels each but I must admit, I was a little confused about the Collector's Edition levels, at least as to how mant there actually are. The Strategy Guide says there are 40 Standard Levels, and the map shows 40 Levels (with a CE Tab Location telling you to complete the main game to access it) and the Strategy Guide says there are 10 Bonus Levels, but another tab says there are 50 CE Levels so I don't know if that means they are including the 10 bonus levels in that count or if there are secret levels? This is very similar to another garden-themed game although, in my opinion, it doesn't have that same "IT" factor. The graphics are colorful and the storyline has a slightly sarcastic sense of humor. The main staple of the game is collecting Gloves which I thought was odd, why are gloves laying all over the place and why are they so valuable? I also have to repair several mobile glove vans that are parked within the garden path which leaves me scratching my head. What is the purpose of a glove-making van, why is it a mobile operation yet they are parked permanently within a garden, why does one garden need multiple mobile glove-making vans, why does this mansion worth millions of dollars have a beautiful garden with a bunch of tacky, scooby-doo vans parked everywhere you look? It kind of takes away from the garden's beauty, although the huge wavy glove hand on the top of the van was a nice touch, I'm not sure the neighbors would appreciate it as much as I did? There are the normal TM tasks of clearing logs from the path, etc. but because this is a garden theme, you'll pick up seeds, and water bottles which are left conveniently on the path, and you'll plant various flower gardens, mostly in round flowerbeds which seems a bit skimpy for a Mansion's garden? This Collector's Edition Version has 40 Levels +10 Bonus Levels (see above confusion statement) 11 ConceptArt Pictures, 9 Music Soundtracks. 31 Achievement Trophies, and a built-in Strategy Guide. You can decorate the mansion's garden with the coins you earn, and each decoration has several different color or style options available. The bottom line is, this is way better than any other game by this particular developer, but it's still just an average TM game that has some weird features that don't make a lot of sense. It is a strategy-based TM game with decent graphics, so if for nothing else, that's worth giving it 3-Stars

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok TM game The game play was pretty much the same as a lot of the other TM games. There really wasn't any extras worthy of purchasing as a CE. Save a credit and wait for the standard edition or an exceptional sale.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Tedious I generally like TM games but this one was just tiresome and I actually nodded off once of twice. There's no personality to any of it, nor the characters unlike many other TM games. I didn't even like the design choices you can make in improving/repairing the mansion with the money you make. I did play it through because I have replayed all the TM games I already own and was hoping this would be at least distracting but it was merely a sleep aid.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from CE ? Not Seeing It! I see what the Dev's were trying to do here by making a few improvements in the graphics and sharpness but there's no way this is worthy of a CE price tag! The challenge is rookie level and certainty would not hold the interest of folks looking for a strategy game. It's fun for kids and those wanting a slower TM game but, for me, it's just not worth the money. Play the demo and try for yourself...my kingdom for a new Emily release!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not a CE game Based on half an hour of playing I made this review - only one mode - no challenge and only 40 levels - In my opinion no CE factor here - only grab and pick - grab and pick - at the first try 3 stars every time - Maybe good for a beginner or a kid

Rated 1 out of 5 by from disappointed- blecch I was expecting much more from this game. But it started off wrong with the stupid cheeky comment that the "hero" deserved this property because he was 'related' to the guy. The world owes you nothing, bucko! The game was infantile and not well planned. The audio was the 'better" part, the visual perfect -for a toddler- (where's my Nuk?) Definitely would NOT buy.
