Heroes of Rome 2: The revenge of Discordia is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Something I can't resist with this series against my will. This game has to me has only two flaws. One is it's level of difficulty..the timer is extremely tough! The other is that it is almost a clone of it's first game, AND it's Inca sibling that came up a week or so ago. Still...I just can't help loving them all. As always you only need to put up with frustration for as long as you wish..and then you can get your three stars by switching to 'relax' mode and then toggle back for the next challenge if you like. I don't know whether it is because there have been two games back to back I have got a little better at the gameplay or if this is just the very slightest bit easier than its predecessors? One thing I will say is this will be the last one I buy of this style from this developer unless the gameplay incorporates changes not just the graphics or layouts. Its time for new features! I now have four almost identical games. That's enough. If you have not played any of the 'Inca' or 'heroes' before..it's a great little TM. It's smooth, and the gathering and upgrading tasks always vary each time on each level. But it is sooo hard to get gold. I only seem to miss the timer by one second most times, and have decided on giving myself a three repeat limit...then toggle lol. I win some, I lose some. Your choices here if you own any of the others are..do you need another and can you enjoy a game that is near on impossible to get gold continually unless you are somehow gifted?, But for me the smile factor is always there..and the challenge of 'could I possibly beat the next level maybe??' Try the demo..its an SE, so with a sale or a coupon I think you will have a fun time for not too much outlay if you love TM.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Do not let this game fool you Do not let this game fool you. It is not as easy as it might look. It makes you think and strategize. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from "Oh Yeah!" When Dangerous Roads (the first one) came out, I didn't like it for some reason. Maybe it was this one level early on that resisted umpty attempts to get gold. Maybe it was the severe cutesiness of the workers. Maybe it was certain sound effects. Whatever! It grew on me, big time. This one, like the first, has some serious strategy, it's not just fetch and carry all the time. The levels' scenes are well-designed, animated here and there and things are happening. It's a more intelligently-built resource management game and as a standard edition: no silly hidden objects to waste your time with and no frequently useless bloats like wallpapers and concept art to inflate the cost of the game. You can adjust music and ambient sounds, select from three mouse pointers, change the screen resolution and shut off tutorials. Very pleased to see this one in the queue today. If you haven't tried either one yet, you have 60 min. to demo this one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not bad but.... A total copy and paste of the original ones that are already out. The fact that it's timed was a bummer for me and the graphics are cartoonish. I mean like Sunday comics cartoonish! The gameplay itself, while being the same pound and run as it's earlier versions, is still fun but this one is visually confusing. There are a lot of useless homes and building crowding the levels that don't do anything but sit there. So, I spent each level clicking on every building to see if it was useful and all it was was added scenery. Glad to see it wasn't a CE price because nothing in this version says CE. Would LOVE to see developers think outside their boxes and freshen up some of these sequels with new stuff.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Same game I demoed and purchased as the demo was as good as Tales of Inca. The game play was very similar to Tales, but as I proceeded, I found that they were a copy of Tales, only just different characters. I'm very disappointed as thought I was getting a new game, but all I got was a different story with different characters but the play and screen was copied from Tales. We pay for new, not a replay of versions of the same; I only recommend if you didn't already purchase Tales of Inca.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Why? This game is too slow for me. No challenge at all. I was falling asleep. Others may like it. It feels like its a game for beginners.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too tough - Too many items too track Def not for TM beginners. I'm a long time TM player and love a good challenge. However, there are so many items to track and collect. On top of that, the buildings don't really stand out from one another so keeping track of what-is-where and what is important to make sure to collect is very difficult for the short amount of time you have on each level. That being said, I of course bought it. TM games are few and far between and this one is not bad, simply a bit more frustrating to me than enjoyable.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Either there is a bug that needs fixing or This game was OK at first, several levels are not easy to beat, despite the review earlier- they may have been playing in the untimed mode. What upsets me is that either this game only has 21 levels or there is a bug that prevents you from moving to level 22. Way too little bang for the buck.
