Art By Numbers 3 is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very relaxing way to spend some time I just discovered Art By Numbers a month ago and really enjoyed the 2nd version. When I saw this new version was available, I grabbed it up quickly. The colors are very vibrant and finished pictures are really pretty. I agree with another poster that some of the spaces are so tiny, I had to use the help to find them. But, that did not deter me from continuing along. Look forward to Art by Number 4!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Game to Play while listening to a Talk Radio show This game has all the features to me. It doesnt leave you wishing the developer did this and that. Don't kid yourself either this isn't "in your face" all large areas to paint, at times you need to enlarge things and look around for those 4 or 5 patches that are tiny and well hidden. Personally this is a great fun distraction while having a talk show playing in the background since you can almost mute the game music and it doesn't really take away from the game experience at all. These talk shows I listen to have exasperatingly long commercial breaks that now fly by because I am engaged in this wonderful game play that eats up the "down time" of the radio show for me. This is a great game anyways but I am enjoying a greater benefit of sorta' doing 2 things at once.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Colorful and fun game! Based on the trial version: I love the bright colors used in this game, unlike other paint by numbers games which overuse greys and browns. Easy to navigate. Even though the cursor (a paintbrush) is big, it comes to a nice point that can be used for small areas without having to enlarge the image. Overall pleasurable experience. I will most likely buy the full version.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It Seems Miracles Do Happen What a surprise! I actually liked all the images in the first level. But still there is no freedom of choice. Each level is locked and must be completed to open the next. Restrictions diminish the fun! I wish the devs would eliminate this irritating feature. Other than that, I enjoyed the demo and bought Art By Numbers 3. Helper, from Rainbow Mosaics, is in the first pics and had the least small sections, the others are much busier and more interesting. The array of scrumptious colors really bring the images to life. The vivid shades add that extra pizzazz that make this art style a treat for the eyes. The choice of either flat or textured finish is also a big plus. The completed images are not blurry or too small so I don't feel cheated at the end. Part of the fun is admiring my piece of art. The images being white with black numbers is a positive. When you click your choice in the palette, the segments with that color turn grey. For me it eliminates the tedious task of finding the number I'm working with, easier on my eyes. The brush-tip cursor is not the best for the very tiny pieces. My own smaller one is a little quicker and is more precise. Some of the sections are impossible to spot, being near microscopic. If not for the numbers above the cursor and super-zooming, I would be searching forever. The Hint Feature is also great as it rebounds quickly with no recharge time that I can tell. These 3 features are absolutely must-haves. You can click on each number individually or sweep the cursor over the areas being colored, filling them in more quickly. The image can be moved around and a slider bar or your mouse wheel enlarges it. Change the background to various shades of black and grey with a slider. The colors can be used out of sequence. A good thing since I move on to other colors and come back to the numbers I need help finding. Your completion time appears under each image, but it's not a beat the clock thing. However, restarting an image to better your time is an option. I don't like rushing and just enjoy the relaxing fun that I find in these games. I really love the Free Coloring Mode where you can paint with your own color choices. It's so much fun to do your own thing! Choose from a different palette and customize your colors with a slider. There are very helpful instructions, but I'm having trouble applying the colors. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, I didn't have this problem in Art By Numbers 2. Hopefully that light bulb goes on before I get too frustrated and just quit. There is a Save Feature which means no stressing if the need to quit early pops up! Overall, I think this is a fine game with plenty of color to brighten up a dreary day or enjoy on quiet evenings, with no muss or fuss. Kids will love the pics suited for the younger artists. Everyone can enjoy the more intricate ones without eye strain, thanks to the great zoom and other help-features. There are no age boundaries. The pictures aren't limited to just simple childish things. Still, a wider variety of subject matter and images, not so whimsical, for adults would be very nice. Art By Numbers is one of my two favorites. I'm looking forward to Number 4.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ART BY NUMBERS 3 IS JUST GORGEOUS AND PERFECT!! I love Art By Numbers 3! When you choose your paint color and apply it, the color is shaded so it looks like the picture has dimension. And the colors are bright and gorgeous, too! The pics are very, very appealing. I also love the music. It changes every minute or so and some of it reminds me of the music played when we are honoring heroes. It makes me feel lifted. It is just a totally enjoyable game and you owe it to yourself to give it a try. You can also choose the paint colors yourself, rather than going by the numbers!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from SOME OF THE PICTURES ARE AMAZING BUT SEVERAL ARE BORING IMAGES THIS TIME :( This is still my favorite "painting" series and the quality is a hundred times better than the other pain by numbers series. I fell in love with the first Art By Numbers game because it was a classier version of the Paint by Numbers game with much better graphics and way better options that make painting more realistic. I didn't think they could up the ante on such an amazing game because the first game had so many options already, but they proved me wrong when they added a Freeplay section that allows you to choose your own colors from a complete, full-scale color palette! The cursor is an actual Paintbrush, which was an option available in the original version, but this time they have added an option to "paint" the sections normally, or as an actual brushstroke that fills sections in as if you were actually using a real paintbrush! This time, however, my paintbrush cursor was lagging a bit so I had to opt for the system cursor which was a real bummer :( You can choose from 4 different Background Textures that will compliment your completed works of art (72 total) You can also choose the color shading of the numbered areas, and the type of painting style, either Flat or a textured Watercolored effect that looks more like a real paint by numbers painting effect. The Current Number is much easier to see than in the "other" painting game and the black lines are much smaller so the pictures are much crisper, the difference between the two painting series is like day versus night, this game is quality through and through! They have a transparent background (unlike the other painting game which has an ugly gray background) because this picture will be displayed on the background you have chosen, and it will be embossed with a blue & gold frame when completed, sometimes it's the little touches that make or break a game! The colors are beautiful with carefully chosen hues of yellows, purples, pinks, fuchsias, teals, oranges, etc. A butterfly might have 5 different variations or shades of pink on its wings which is something I have complained about several times on the other painting game. It's not very pretty when the same blue color is used on an entire butterfly that is just separated by really thick black lines. Every artist knows that you have to use shading variations to give a painting depth, and that is exactly what Awigor has done. This game was created by the same developer who brings us Rainbow Mosaics, one of my favorite Mosaics series, so they are masters of color! Join us on my new forum, thewoodsforum.boards.net
