Customer Reviews
Labyrinths of the World: Hearts of the Planet is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Scenic Underground Adventure This is a quality Domini creation that is worth checking out. It is interesting, entertaining, and contains a good balance of HOPs and puzzles. The excellent graphics were consistent throughout, with very colorful scenes and wonderful detail in each location. I found everything quite interesting in this other-world adventure. I tend to take my time with this kind of story, to soak in all the surroundings. The story kept my attention from fading, with the conflict at hand between humans and the inner-world beings that occupy 3 underground secret worlds. It was entertaining and it was a lengthy game. I don't think buying the SE will have a negative effect on the fun of this game. It is fast paced with plenty to keep you busy. The HOPs and puzzles were of average challenge, I did skip a couple of puzzles just because they required more time than I was willing to spend. The characters and voice-overs were excellent, the familiar purple and green brights were present as usual, being a Domini game. I'm not a fan of these extreme colors but I have learned to just accept them and quit grumbling! The game ran without a hitch and it, for me, was an overall good experience. Domini has a fantastic talent that delivers top quality each and every time, in my opinion, and you'll find they don't skimp on the extras if you have not yet tried a CE from these devs. Try the demo for a sampling of the appeal I found in this geological adventure. Hope you like it as much as I did.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AN AMAZING FANTASY ADVENTURE BENEATH THE SURFACE OF THE EARTH Labyrinths of the World Hearts of the Planet is possibly the most beautiful game in the Labyrinths series. I found the depth of coloring to be perfect to portray the beauty of this fantasy world while bringing its characters to life. There is no need for me to recap the storyline as that’s done on the game’s main page and by another reviewer. As enticing as the storyline might and graphics might be, what almost put me off from purchasing the game was reading the review that as usual gave a breakdown of the HOPS and Puzzles. Once I know that there is an overabundance of Puzzles as opposed to HOPs, I am far less likely to purchase the game. I am a HOS lover and that is why I became a member of BFG some 16 years ago – not to play Puzzle laden HOPA games. In spite of the numerous complaints from myself and other gamers, some developers continue to ignore our pleas for balance between those two components of their games. At one time I purchased every CE that was released but that is no longer the case. I now purchase half the quantity of games that I once did here at BFG. Here’s the thing, If I want to know how many HOPs or Puzzles are in a CE game, I will wait until I play the game. I would not hesitate to say that BFG loses a good portion of its HOPA business simply because some reviewers continue to rattle off every little detail of a game. Why purchase a game when you can simply read a review? Once I tried the demo for Hearts of the Planet I was hooked. I did enjoy the gameplay because it was not always easy to figure out what I needed to do next in order to move forward in the game. I enjoy any game that allows me to use my brain rather than holding my hand as I play. Recently there have been far too many games that pretty much tell the gamer what needs to happen next. Fortunately, Hearts of the Planet lets me think for myself and figure out my next step. If I am stuck there is always that trusty hint button to use. The HOS are creative, well-designed, and offer the usual variety of styles. It seems to me that there is at least one HOS where I haven’t seen that style used in the past. Although I far prefer the HOS to Puzzles (guess you must know that by now), I did happen to enjoy some of the Puzzles, but I also skipped many others. I do like that most of the Puzzles can be set to either solve in either Easy or Hard mode. Even though you specify the default mode for playing the Puzzles if you selected the custom mode of gameplay, you could still switch to the other mode for each Puzzle if you wish. For me, the gameplay in Hearts of the Planet is enjoyable because I prefer going back and forth between scenes to playing a game that is strictly linear. I love a game where I have a lot of inventory and need to remember where items are used. I’ve still not finished the game and consider it to be long. Of course, I am a slow player since I don’t want to miss anything and find myself looking at every detail in each scene. Labyrinths of the World Hearts of Planet is a terrific game and one that I’ve enjoyed playing. As always, I recommend that you try the demo to see if it is a game you will enjoy as well. Happy gaming!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from HUMANS SURE HAVE A WAY OF MESSING WITH HUMANITY Completed Game approximately 5.5 hours (including completion of all mini-games & some of the CE Bonus Chapter) 24 Main Game Scene Locations +9 Bonus Chapter Difficulty Range: Beginner Hidden deep within the Earth's crust are three worlds, The Underground World, the World of Prophecies, and the Meridian World. The inhabitants of this world know that one day humans will enter their world and steal their Magical Crystals which will evoke deadly wars between the worlds until all humanity is destroyed. The prophecy may have already begun because today Simon and Olivia have just discovered the Underground World. This is a beautiful game but holy Jules Verne, all you are doing is going back and forth to and fro like a Journey to the Center of the Earth and Back, only not as fun or interesting after a billion times! Hope you like clearing smoke, even Domini knows it was excessively used because they say "I've got to clear more smoke!" Have you run out of ideas? It sure seems that way because the games are always the same scenario with the same tasks, but at least you didn't make me do it for 8 chapters this time, so thank heavens for that! Gadgets/Helper: No Gadgets or Helpers! Collectibles & Morphing Objects (CE Version Only): There are Morphing Crystal Birds (with descriptions) that morph between a crystal and 15 beautiful birds. They morph at a nice rate of speed but they are rather small and may be challenging to spot for some individuals. There are also 15 various Backpack Items that seem rather out of place with the whole otherworldly, fantasy-themed scenario, to me when you have a beautiful crystal cockatoo sitting next to a flashlight? As usual, there are 70 Zoom Zone Coins that can be used to purchase 15 Garden Decorations that are just crammed in the middle of a scene and it doesn't appear that anyone got super creative with the decorations. There is an optional Collection Icon Tab that can be enabled or disabled in the settings as well. Hidden Object Scenes: There are 14 Hidden Object Scenes +4 in the CE Bonus Chapter and an alternate Match 3 Game available, which btw, doesn't allow you to make consecutive matches quickly. (you have to wait for all tiles to stop falling before you can make the next match which makes the game seem sooo slooowww) There are a ton of Keywords in Sentence Finds which were super easy and super boring. There were also Interactive Listed Item Finds, Combo Silhouetted Shape Finds, scenes that required placing Stencils over Objects in the scene, Choosing missing words and then finding 3 related items, and a pop-up Storybook Silhouetted Shape Finds...all of the items can literally be found within seconds. Mini-Games: There are 20 Mini-Games +7 in the CE Bonus Chapter. You can choose to play them in an Easy or Hard difficulty mode and you can choose which mode to have them start out in the Custom Setting (you can still switch between modes for each individual game) Below are a few of my personal favorites: 1-Swap crystals to match the picture (hard mode: 1 affects others) 2-Adjust the pipes so the fuel bypasses 2 pressure gauges & fills all 3 barrels, select a pipe to rotate it, select valves to release fuel. LOVED this game. 3-Enter numbers so none of the columns, rows, or connected lines have duplicate numbers. Bonus Chapter (CE Version Only) This chapter enlightens us on how the one and only human, Etien Verne (any relation to Jules Verne?) came to live in the Underground World. I was completely bored by this point and simply checked the statistics and gave up. I was completely over the back and forth nonsense that Domini just can't seem to figure out. This is an above-average-length chapter but average-length chapter for Domini (because you repeat the same task and go back & forth a billion times) spanning over 9 scene locations with 7 additional Mini-Games and 4 Hidden Object Scenes, You will continue your search for the final 4 Morphing Crystal Birds, 5 Backpack Items, and 10 Zoom Zone Coins (of varying amounts) which allows you to purchase the final Garden Decorations. Collector's Edition Extra's: (CE version only) 19 Wallpapers, 34 Concept Art Pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks, 29 Movie Video Cutscenes, 40 Achievements, 18 Replayable Mini-Games, 18 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 15 Morphing Crystal Birds,15 Backpack Items, a gazillion Missing Notes, 70 Zoom-Zone Coins, 15 Garden Decorations (purchase with coins) 4 Main Chapters, +Bonus Chapter, and a Built-In Strategy Guide.
