Secrets of Magic 4: Potion Master is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Decided to get further into the game Yes this game does start off with not too much of a challenge but further in to this it is really challenging. What I love is you can set this game the way you like it. The colors are bright and the tiles are large and you can make moves without having to wait for all the tiles to fall. This is a great game for something that is not too stressful yet keeps you entertained or it does me any way. I recommend this game. Try the demo see what you think but I preferred it after the demo time. Enjoy

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great M3 another great game in the series. there are 3 levels to choose from. i played on the casual level with no time or moves restrictions. the power ups are earned as you play the game and refill after you use them as you play. the game shows the hints but there is no hint button. i liked it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cauldron Bubbling Halloween Fun Based on first 50 levels. (There are 100 levels total.) This is a light-hearted match3 game perfectly themed for the Halloween season. The tokens are spot-on where you make matches of three or more to break through stone, chain, ice, and wooden barriers to bring down various potions to achieve a specific list of goals for each layout. The storyline is fun and there's a 3D landscape to decorate for a Halloween party. There are three modes of play including a relaxed setting. The music and sound effects are perfect and there's a great replay value for this game. The gameplay is smooth and glitch-free with no loading delays. The tutorial is optional and to go back to the main menu press the escape button. (It took a few moments to figure that out.) Highly recommend for hours of stress relief. Cheers!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great little game. But I wished for more. This developer makes great M3 games, and this, just as the others are in the series, is a sweet and enjoyable game to play. The tiles are big and bright, the gameplay is smooth, the sounds are pleasant and I really cannot fault the actual boards at all. There are many choices on how you play, casual, relaxed, lots of bonuses or less and you can toggle at anytime without having to start a new profile. Your bonuses come thick and fast for large matches, and on the easy settings just appear from the fall of the tiles. In fact in the timed/casual (with lots of bonuses mode)..it would be pretty hard to lose a level. That's where its great to have such choices to swap around if it gets mundane. You can also skip the dialogue. So where's the problem? Absolutely not a single one with the main game. I just really disliked the scene that you build by buying spooky artifacts! The graphics may seem sophisticated by zooming in and out and around, kind of 3d..but they are really primitive and clunky as art work..no finesse.. I found I wanted to get back to the boards rather than stay and admire my build. It was almost hard on the eyes. I also was hoping I may have to incorporate things or do something snazzy to make the 'potions' with such a title..but no. You just play and they make themselves in the cauldron. I think I also would have liked a bit of break sometimes with perhaps the odd mini game thrown in to cap off what is really in essence,a great game. I bought it. I love the gameplay, the tiles, and playing each level. The rest I felt was lazy and could have been improved without much effort. Still absolutely worth the SE price. Enjoy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not many challenges here It's nice to get a game where you don't have to use an exceptional amount of brainpower and can just sit back, relax and play. Have to agree with some reviewers - the decorations are a bit clunky (and rather disappointing since I like to decorate haunted houses) and wish you could place them where you want them. A bit disorientating at first - when clicking on a decoration the screen zooms around but something different. I like to do relaxed at first and like how fast you can finish a level - a bit of strategy needed as you get further along in the game but not an overwhelming amount of challenge. So it's nice to have a new Halloween game (hope we get more before the holiday) and as stated a no brainer just something to pass the time and my biggest approval - no doom, gloom and ugly faces.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from WE NEED A COLOR POTION! I have mixed emotions about Potion Master, the fourth game in the Secrets of Magic series. I wasn't crazy about the graphics, the first three games had really colorful graphics and I loved decorating the Haunted House with all the Halloween-themed decorations. In this game, however, the decorations are 3D and kind of awkward looking stuck out in the middle of the forest, and to me, they just look pixelated. Although the icons are theme-related with eyeballs, witches hats, candles, coffins, skulls, and some adorable owls, the colors just seem drab this time around. This is just an observation, and certainly not a deal-breaker, just a bit of a sour-patch kid versus a kit-kat bar lol. You can play in a Relaxed, Unlimited Moves Mode, a Challenge Mode with Limited Moves, or a Timed Mode. Then you get to choose either a Casual Mode which has fewer obstructions and more power-ups or an Expert Mode which has more obstructions and fewer power-ups. I chose to play in the Limited Moves/Expert Mode initially, but by the time I reached the third level I kept running out of moves, each time I needed about 2 extra moves to remove the last potion ingredient. I switched over to the Limited Moves/Expert Mode and was able to complete the level with ease and have plenty of time left. The problem was that the Limed-Moves Mode was too stingy with the number of moves, but the Limited-Time Mode was way too generous with the time, so one mode was frustrating, the other was kind of boring!?! The goal is to make a specified amount of matched of each specified tile as shown at the top of the board and clear all gold cells. Clearing Gold cells are worth 50 gold coins, which is used to purchase twenty 3D Halloween Decorations. Gold Some levels require collecting Potion Ingredients by dropping them off of the board, and some levels have a Key you must drop off of the board, that will unlock the hidden part of the Match 3 board. I found it easier to meet the goal requirements by going after the key as soon as possible. Power-up Boosters are unlocked as you progress and must recharge after each use. The Wand will destroy a chosen Tile, the Hammer will destroy a chosen Obstacle, the Whirlwind reshuffles the board, and the Lightning destroys all of the same types of Tile. Large Matches will earn a Bonus Power-up on the board, they can be swapped or double-clicked to detonate and they do not count as a move on the Limited-Moves Mode. *Potion (Match 4) destroys a 2-tile radius diagonally. *Pumpkin Bomb (Match 5) destroys a 3-tile radius in either direction. *Rocket (Match 5 Row/Column) massive explosion. There are several Obstacles added as you progress as well, but nothing new or out of the ordinary to give it the "wow" factor. *Crates: requires an adjacent match to destroy. *Chains: requires a match 3 of whichever tile is chained. *Stones: requires two adjacent matches to destroy. *Ice Cubes: requires a match 3 of whichever tile is encased in ice. *Metal Tile: requires 3 adjacent matches to destroy. *Big Rock: each piece requires 2 adjacent matches to break. Yes, it's a cute, Halloween-themed Match 3 game that is certainly worthy of the price or using a PCC, however, when comparing it to the other 3 games in THIS particular series, I don't think it was as colorful or as fun as its predecessors. Rated 3 out of 5 by from DISAPPOINTING I like these games, and this one is fun and halloween-y. But I was disappointed that you don't get to decorate the house and yard again like the others. In the first three you got to choose which one of three different decorations you liked to buy. This game just has a decoration to buy,but no choices. I also don't care for the graphics as well,or the 3D effect. I thought the game was a bit too easy.
