This is my favorite genre and I understand some of the complaints. I found the game to be oddly relaxing and challenging at the same time. While it is timed, I only ran out of time once but at the same time I found quite a few levels a challenge to beat the clock. And I agree that there is no "goal" but to clear the board yet that worked for me. There are 3 power ups per turn if you need them. There could have been some changing up of the elements you were matching to make it more interesting but if you like Match 3 you may find this enjoyable.

a filler title, but it's not bad
The definition of a filler game. It's not too bad though. Perhaps my opinion is not very qualified since I didn't play match-3 games in a very long time, but i liked it! I don't expect myself playing this for hours on end but it'll pass as a time-filler of sorts, when you have nothing else to play.
There's only 50 levels, which doesn't sounds like much for a m3 game but considering that you won't playing this for too long it's ok I guess. The bonus items is not very generous, yet from what I can tell, they'll give you more when you finish each 10 levels.
Overall - OK game for beginners or not a fans of a genre.

Not fun Match 3
I love a good Match 3 game. That being said I kept waiting for it to get better. The storyline was very basic which would be okay if the graphics or the game play made up for it sadly it didn't. The colors for the objects in the grid were not very bold and the farther you got into the game the grid would get smaller & a little harder but it is just a basic Match 3 game. Turned off the music. I wish I could say something positive, it might be a great game for a child between 5 - 8 yrs of age.

IT WAS RATHER ADDICTING AT FIRST BUT QUICKLY BECAME BORING
When I first started playing Emeraldium, it was addicting, but it quickly became repetitive and was so easy that I was completely bored by the time I finished the first group of 10 levels. The gem tiles eventually became hard to differentiate between the similar colors and shapes which slowed down progress, but the timer has more than enough time allowance and the levels are completed at a break-neck pace.
The goal is to turn all cells to Gold by making matches over them. The only obstacles I came across were stone blocks that require an adjacent match to destroy them which exposes more gems and cells that need to be turned to gold.
Supposedly, you'll earn Power-ups when you make a large match, but my game didn't have any no matter how large my matches were? They are the usual power-ups of a Pickaxe to remove a single tile, Dynamite to destroy 9 tiles, Double Dynamite to destroy a horizontal line, and a Nitro Lamp to destroy a vertical line.
The board layouts just weren't creative enough to present a challenge with hard-to-reach nooks & crannies. If this game were a bit more challenging and had a little more variety it would have been more interesting. I've opened my own forum, join us won't you at thewoodsforum.boards.net

Oh dear!
I like Match 3 games, but they need to have an aim. This game is so basic, has no point or storyline to it - to be blunt it is tedious. I saw nothing of the "enchanting place known as Emeraldium" - just dim tiles that you were eradicating. Not acceptable in this age of superb games.

Didn't even finish the demo, No options, no powerups, music and graphics were below par for Unity. Graphics were unstimulating, no storyline, same thing over and over. Timer barely moved so no real challenge, again no option for expert player, timed or number of moves.
recommend for a young child maybe but not for anyone who likes match 3 games.

i love match 3 games and sometimes purchased without trying because I have free game coupons. But I read the reviews and decided to try it first. It's terrible! Absolutely no challenge no fun and just plain awful.

Poorly designed match 3 game
In total agreement with the other reviews of this poorly designed and bad game. I'm always looking for NEW, FUN, and EXCITING match 3 games. This one is slow going, very few options including the one I hate most - no window mode. What a useless game this one is. The developers should be ashamed of themselves for putting this one out.

What a bore! Make sure you try the demo
Well I suspect this is a free to play game elsewhere, only one profile, no timer options (although the timer seems to just refill if you are not there yet lol) and same tiles and screen level after level. About as exciting as watching grass grow.
If the blurb did not tell me there was fifty levels I would not know, and honestly I couldn't even play the demo out to the end. The tiles were hard to set up and it almost seemed as if they are programmed not to drop the colour you need in your row lol.
It reminds me of someone mindlessly playing a poker machine, the sounds and the mesmerising boredom really. It would probably not even cut it on my phone as a time filler. There are just so many clever games out there. This is more like a learners project. Sorry..I pass bigtime.
