Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mediterranean Journey 5 I enjoy playing games through this developer and I enjoy learning about different countries

Rated 4 out of 5 by from game isn't THAT bad This is the first MJ game that I've played and I have to say that the graphics are really good which is why I gave visual/sound 4 stars and I found the music somewhat tolerable but it does drag the game down. How about changing it up and creating different (better) music for different scenes? Anyway to the game - it's playable for about 10 scenes and then I have to give it a break because it becomes boring. The puzzle games are way to basic and so easy. The match ups and the maze are really for the youngest of children. On the positive side, it really has so much potential with the bright and colorful scenery and the info is great and I don't mind the hidden object aspect either. Some of the hearts are very well hidden. I'm recommending it because personally I do love hidden object games.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I Don't Purchase Games For The Music. If you find the game's music is not to your liking open Settings and turn it OFF, or minimize the volume.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from My Ears! Someone recorded their kids mucking around on Grandma and Grandpa's electric organ and thought it would be O.K. to use it as the sound track to this game.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from First time I don't buy this game I usually LOVE these games and buy within minutes of playing the demo. But ... this time, I can't get over the elevator muzak that plays during the HOS. I know, I can turn off the music, but what game developers need to realize is that for a LOT of us, listening to calming music is a big part of playing. There are gold coins to find in this version which doesn't seem to be part of the instructions - so that's fun.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Another Game Courtesy Of Deja Vu Surely the devs that have their foot so firmly planted in the door of BFG can do much better. After all, they're in the entertainment business! If they can't deliver, open the door to the multitude of others just waiting for the chance to sell their talents and put their games on the market. This popular style of HOG needs a big overhaul. New everything! You name it! Each of these games offers the same old boring agenda, only the destination changes. Although, I don't consider this a bad game, it just doesn't have enough entertainment value to inspire me to purchase even with a coupon. Today's release is just more of the stuff we've seen before but will appeal to fans who want some easy fun searching for items with a few mini games sprinkled throughout, to alleviate the stresses of the day. HOGs are great stress relievers and I love them, when they have all the right elements. If you love all the "travel" HOGs, this one is sure to please. The graphics are nice and clear and there's plenty of color to brighten up the locations. The music is more like elevator music to my ear, but that can be remedied. The scenes are full of objects sometimes well hidden, sometimes too obvious, some out of proportion. I've never had any tech issues with any of the games. I just think a step out of the box is long overdue, the devs need to leave the comfort zone that makes it easy to make a buck without the effort. Let's see some brilliant new games!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from THE MUSIC IS SO BAD IT'S DEPRESSING THE SPIDER (but these devs are constantly trying to improve so for that effort I applauded them) Well folks, it looks like my favorite Chocolate-eating spider has returned and he's apparently been working out because he's now a beefy tarantula! I haven't yet spotted my chocolate bar so it is plausable that he's sworn off sweets but that doesn't mean I trust that beedy-eyed little bugger! He may not be sporting a chocolate grin at the moment, but that doesn't mean he's not quilty, after all, the chocolate bar does seem to be M.I.A??!! I can't help but get suspicious when the infamous anvil mysteriously disappears from every scene as well, there's only one individual beefing up here and it isn't me! This is such a complicated relationship I've had with Mr. Chocolate-eating spider, even though he nibbles on that chocolate bar found in every scene, I've grown quite fond of him and his sarcastic little chocolate grin over the last 5 games. The Hidden Object Scenes can be played in an Easy Mode with no Timer or Misclick Penalties, a Normal Mode which is Timed but has no Misclick Penalties, or a Hard Mode which has a Timer and Misclick Penalties. You can earn up to 3 Stars when you complete the scene and find all of the collectibles (Hearts and GPS Icons) There is a Zoom +/- feature (click to zoom & drag the screen around) as well as a Hint Feature that must recharge after each use. In the Timed Mode, you are given approximately 15 minutes to find 15 Listed items. Each scene has a single Zoom Zone location that contains the final 3 objects, or the first 3 objects, or quite possibly the middle 3 objects, depending on how you look at it...I bet Mr. Spider looks at it with eight beedy little eyes, the same way he looks at that chocolate bar! Strike it rich in Mediterranean Journey 5, they've added giant gold coins in each scene to make up for the fact that the music is so bad it makes Mr. Spider sick to his stomach and no one wants to be around when he throws up an entire chocolate bar! Each scene has 3 Hearts and 3 GPS icons that suddenly have become smaller than in previous games. Maybe this is a reasonable explanation as to why the spider suddenly morphed into a jurassic-sized tarantula? Maybe it's just a matrix Jedi mind trick scenario, where the spider only appears to be larger because the Hearts & GPS icons got smaller? Finding all 3 Hearts will unlock 3 new animal pictures (180) in an album, which does not include any photo's of Mr. Spider? Finding all 3 GPS icons will unlock a new picture of the HO scene (80 total) You can also purchase 18 Gift Shop Souvenirs for the spider. You could be selfish and purchase the gift shop items for yourself but Mr. Spider has been feeling a little blue lately so consider cheering him up with a gift or two; when he's depressed he binges on chocolate bars and we all know what happens then! You can improve your star rating by replaying the scenes, but the objects to find are different each time you play, be careful tho, you don't want to sneak up on the spider, he startles easily (prolly just chocolate jitters) After each Hidden Object Scene, you'll play a Short mini-game because obviously, Tall mini-games don't fit into the game as easily. Mini-games include a game of Spider Solitaire, wait, what do you mean it's just regular solitaire?... Great, what a way to make the spider feel even more isolated! a Memory Match Card game containing just about every animal imaginable...except spiders, or Spot the Differences which surprisingly has nothing to do with spiders..who knew? Although I hated the music, I did love the added golden coin collectibles even though this feature would be much better if they were smaller and several were available per scene, perhaps hidden in nooks & crannies, even better would be coins that morph! (whoo-hoo the spider can finally buy his own chocolate bars) I also appreciate the fact that these developers are taking notes with every game and they truly are trying to improve each game. I would have given this game 4-stars had it not been for the dreadfully depressing music. I absolutely love this developer's ongoing sense of humor for playing along ;) PS: I'd love to have you as a member on my new forum, all are welcome! thewoodsforum.boards.net

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Everyone was right I am a HOG fan and read all the reviews that talked about how awful the music was. I thought, "It can't be THAT bad." Everyone was right. The music is so awful this will be "nope, not ever, even for free" game for me. The music changed from the opening where you set up your name and options and was completely different in the HOG scenes. But both were really terrible. Yeah, I know I could mute it, but no, I like something in the background that is soothing or familiar. This was neither. Can't comment on the gameplay itself, since the music drove me away in under 10 minutes.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Don't travel games have good music anymore? I generally enjoy travel games. I have others in this series. But why can't the games have decent music to accompany them? It's pretty bad when hearing the clicks and sound effects is preferable to having one's ears assaulted by that noise that pretends to be music. I muted it. Developers need to realize that music is part of the reason why people either buy or don't buy games. A "meh" game might be a buy for me if I enjoy the music. A game where the music draws me into an immersive experience where I lose track of time is a treasure. This game failed to deliver on that, and although the game itself is adequate to pass a little time, I cannot in good conscience recommend it.
