Forgotten Riddles - The Mayan Princess is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good This is good alternative to and HO game, had different little mini-games as well as the riddles (some are a little too abstract and perhaps Americanised than a 'over the pond' player may have needed or wanted. The storyline was good and a good 'history lesson' as I discovered the history of the Mayan. The hour was over quickly and as this game was an 1/2 price offer I decided to buy. I would probably only recommend if you were to use a 'punch', voucher, game credit, or if it is on offer, don't think I would have paid full price. Though good for the price it is now.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Searching Mayan Ruins I really wanted to love this game, but it fell short. You are an archeologist tasked with locating the missing journal of a Mayan Princess. The game consists of two activities: visiting various Mayan locations and solving riddles to locate items, after each group of locations is cleared, you create a picture by rotating the pieces until they are in the correct location. After you complete each level (locations and a puzzle), you are given another page of the journal. This is an older game so would not display full screen. For me, solving the riddles was easy, but finding the items ranged from simple to impossible (with most being difficult to find). Most of the scenes are difficult to see and some of the items are either tiny or almost invisible. You visit locations several times, so it becomes monotonous about half way through the game. You have 5 hints for each level, but you must use them sparingly. If you play as the Archeologist, each level is timed. You can elect to play the game without being timed. You are given a fairly generous amount of time and there is a pause button. If you are looking for a game that is HOS with an occasional picture puzzle...and you have excellent eyesight....you would probably enjoy this game.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I thought it would never end Anyone who says they finished this game in an hour either didn't get the full game or is lying through their teeth. I got this game as an extra with Enlightenus II. Based on that, I thought it would be a short game that would only take maybe an hour to play. Holy Hannah. That it was not. I was booking it through the levels. I had between 5 and 20 minutes left at the end of each level and it took me hours to complete. Very repetitive. The story had way too much to read. When I started playing I didn't realize that the story screens stopped the clock (you play against a timer) so I just skipped past them not to waste time. I was probably five levels in, with the story well advanced, before I realized I could have been reading them all along without being penalized.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from This is mediocre at best Someone said that the graphics were nice in this game which was one part of why I bought it. I'm an artist and take great pleasure from some of the art in games - it is astonishing sometimes. Not this time - really boring and uninspired. Not at all evoking anything to do with the time frame. And Pizarro conquered Peru, not Mexico! Also, the objects can be hard to discern - did the makers feel that darkness would substitute for imagination? I think I'm going to remove this from my computer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not fun at all First of all, I HATE timed games. I bought this game based on other reviews and would not have bought it had I known it was timed. The riddles are ok but so repetitive that I got bored within the first 10 minutes. I won't even finish playing it. The answers to the riddles are quite hard to find - not because they're challenging but because the graphics are quite poor. Just not a fun game at all.
