Rated 5 out of 5 by from beautiful true hidden object game This is a true hidden object for sure. The items are so well hidden. It is very well done. I don't like it when I can find things easily. It's beautiful to look at and the music is very relaxing. I love the puzzles and the challenge of finding items when they scramble the words.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love Hidden Object games. I found this version much more challenging than others I have played in this series. The facts are fun too! Beautiful graphics! It does seem easy ta little too easy to score though, even playing at the highest level. I do like games that reward you for completing a level but this game could be played forever.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good but difficult I enjoyed this game, mostly. The graphics are very good, the game play is good, and I appreciate that the game doesn't penalize you for clicking on the wrong thing, not even a noise meant to make you feel foolish. This has the same odd setup that the other "Travel to" games have. You have to earn money to unlock the next sections of the game. This requires you to go back and replay earlier scenes, but with new styles of search: scramble, silhouette, spot-the-difference, and mirror. All of the mini games come after you've played through all the scenes at least once. The minigames feel tacked on, and I didn't feel any compulsion to play them once I completed all the searchable scenes. There are two difference jigsaw minigames, which I liked, as well as solitaire, card match, and word search. A pretty uninteresting group of minigames, all in all. The level of challenge can be next to impossible a lot of the time. I found the game too difficult at times and had to use the hints, which I really don't like doing. They make me feel less invested in the game. There are too many dark objects hiding in dark shadows. At one point, I literally started randomly clicking in the shadows of a boat and clicked on a hidden object that I could not see. At least one object was over 50% hidden behind another object. This kind of thing is bad game design. When I can't find an object, first I'm frustrated, but after a while of searching, I get bored. The worst thing a game should make you feel is bored! When it's this bad, and I finally find the object, I don't feel happy or triumphant; my response is usually "Finally this scene is over." The game's okay, so three stars.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I'D RATHER STAY AT HOME Difficulty Levels: 1. No time limit. 2. 10-minute time limit for each search 3. 3 mins time limit for each search You get one point for each scene completed. You have silhouettes, scrambled letters, missing vowels PROS: 1. Graphics nice; colors crisp and clear 2. Music is nice, corresponds to each scene CONS: 1. Characters in the story frankly look 'ridiculous' 2. Unable to SKIP the narration between the characters 3. Items very hard to find, even with the magnifying glass This game is like the other 'Travel to' games. Rather boring.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OBJECTS ARE A LITTLE MORE "HIDDEN" THIS TIME The Hudson family travels are catching up with the penguins lately, sometimes you just gotta say Phuket...Phuket City Thailand here we come! Phucket, Big Buddha...sit tight, I'll get that bandage off your nose, or is that a moth? I'm not gonna lie, Phucket has some weird attractions, did anyone else see animal shapes in the clouds? Phuket has more than Big Buddha's, there's the Phuket Phi Phi Islands, Phuket nightlife, you can even go Phuket Island hopping! Bet the tourists drive the Phuket locals crazy!?! In the last couple of games, they have added a few different HO variants, Mirror Reflections where the words are mirrored as well as the screen (as it would be reading the word "ambulance" in a rearview mirror), and Spot the Difference. I love "spot the differences" scenes but ONLY when they make subtle changes to the scenery, which isn't the case here. All you have to do is click on objects that have been added to the scene and in this case, the objects are huge and hard to miss! There isn't much of a challenge when the differences are Godzilla-sized moths, skateboards that are smaller than the moth, pinecones that would crumble Phucket's Big Buddha if it fell on him, or a stalk of broccoli that would scare any kid forced to eat his vegetables! One of the biggest reasons I don't feel the need to purchase these games lately is because the items never change position when you replay the levels, which is a requirement to earn the necessary stars to unlock the next level in order to progress, therefore, it can get boring quickly. Sometimes they add a couple of new objects to the repeated scenes, but all the previous objects are in the same position every time you replay the game, Phuket...has a bunch of these repeated objects! You can play in 3 different modes, a Relaxed Untimed Mode, 10-Minute Timed Mode, or a 3-Minute Timed Mode to complete each level. You will earn a single star on each HO location and the next location requires 1-3 stars to unlock it which means you'll have to replay the scene in a different HO mode. The Hidden Object Modes change each time you replay a scene, between Listed Item, Silhouetted Shapes, Scrambled Letter Modes, and the two new variants, Mirror Reflection and Spot the Differences. Because the objects themselves never move, you can basically guess at the objects by the time you roll around to the silhouetted shapes, and scrambled letters and get 99% of them right! Each scene has a Lazy Turtle to discover (once you find him he won't appear in the other HO modes) There are trivia facts before visiting each location as well, Phuket...has some interesting fun facts, did I mention that already? I STILL think the developers need to use their Lazy Turtle Logo versus the cheap plastic turtle because this developer's Lazy Turtle Logo is one of the coolest logos I've ever seen, I know I'd personally rather see a Phuket Lazy Turtle logo than a plastic Phuket turtle any day of the week! He's an adorable "lazy" turtle wearing a sombrero and leaning up against a palm tree, probably thinking, Phuket...would be an awesome vacation destination! If they used a semi-transparent image of this logo and hid it in each scene it would be much more challenging to spot, which is the point of a hidden collectible that isn't on the list! (Phuket, free advertising never hurts either!) The Hudson Family's trip locations include: ~Bangkok, The Grand Palace ~Phra Nakhon, Ayutthaya ~Bangkok, Floating Market ~Krabi, Railay Beach ~Surat Thani, Khao Sok ~Krabi, Phi Phi ~Phuket, Big Buddha ~Phuket, Phuket City ~Surat Thani, Koh Tao ~Bangkok, Khaosan Road ~Khao Yai National Park ~Chiang Rai, White Temple ~Mae Hong Son Pai ~Chiang Mai, Doi Inthanon ~Bangkok, Chao Phraya River Mini-Games Available: ~Jigsaw ~Underwater Solitaire ~Travel Cards (Matching Card Pairs) ~Sea Animals (Restore picture puzzle) ~Tropical Fruits (Word Search) It would be a better game if the objects moved around when you revisited the scenes in a different Hidden Object Mode. I do appreciate that the objects are blended into the scenery better, but they are still really big/obvious objects that are hard to miss, even without the Magnifying Glass feature. This makes the game super easy to complete in just a couple of hours. Phuket...City isn't the only conversation topic going on in The Woods Forum! Rated 3 out of 5 by from Do We Need Another "Travel" Game? Personally, I think not, if it is going to be just a repeat of all the others in the series. There's never anything new to keep it interesting. Even with the various game modes and HO styles, boredom quickly sets in and I don't feel like finishing the demo. I wish the devs would come up with some new ideas. The graphics seem sharper than in previous games with lots of bright color. I also think the objects blend into the scenery much better this time. Some a little too hidden. The magnifier is a big help. Don't like using hints. There are trivia facts for each location. It's always fun to learn about the countries, but I've found some to be inaccurate in past "Travel" games. There's a good amount of locations to visit and the mini games are pretty simple, but I enjoy them. Lots of hidden objects that are not always so easy to spot. Tourists love to shop! It would be nice to have a Gift Shop in which to spend our points. The written dialogue can all be skipped. No special options. Music and sound is adjustable. Entertaining for a while, but not enough challenge and too much repetition spoils it for me. However, it's a family friendly game with good replay value. The trivia is interesting for kids and adults. The "Travel" games I own all run smoothly on my PC, never any glitches. If they weren't so predictable and were more creative with the features, it would bump up the entertainment level. A step out of the box with a good imagination usually brings great results.
