Adventure Trip: New York Collector's Edition is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like this HO game I've played some of their past games and found them a little tedious. Outside of the fact that I love New York and miss it a lot now that I live elsewhere, I found this game relaxing, no pressure, so I play this last before I shut down the computer and go to bed. I think I even like the puzzles although at the moment I can't remember all of them, they aren't overwhelming challenging or time consuming unlike similar games that expect you to play a whole game of mahjon or cards. I'm working through the collector's section, one site per night before bed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from OK Game I'm perfectly happy with the game overall, it's what I expected. I have the others in the series and enjoy playing. However, I have run into one level (find the match) where I could not play because the matches did not appear at all. I'm hoping it was just that one in between puzzle that had a problem and that there are no more.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I LOVE THIS SERIES BUT THE THEME & LOCATIONS WEREN'T AS APPEALING I love the variety of Hidden Object Modes and the Collectibles offered in Adventure Trip games, and I did purchase this game, but the "New York" theme has been the subject of so many HOG's that I just kept getting a deja vu, been there, done that vibe. There are 50 states in the US ( +Washington D.C. & Puerto Rico) yet every HOG developer decides that New York is the only one anybody cares about? Maine is beautiful, Pennsylvania was one of the original 13 colonies and holds a lot of historical foundations, the Dakota's have Mount Rushmore and the Badlands, Georgia has Stone Mountain, Tennessee has the Great Smokey Mountains, heck Florida has some fantastic tourist spots but developers never use these states as a theme?? Let's think outside the box next time :) You can play in an Easy Mode which has no Timer or Misclick penalties, and the Hint feature recharges in 15 Seconds. The Medium Mode is also Untimed but there is a Misclick penalty and it takes the Hint feature 35 Seconds to recharge. The Hard Mode is Timed and also has a Misclick penalty and the Hint feature takes 60 Seconds to recharge. I played in the Hard Mode and had plenty of time to find all of the items on most of the levels. Some of the objects are very well blended and I thought this game had a better challenge than the previous two games. You can purchase 15 Gifts (points are converted to currency) and each scene has two Zoom Zone areas. There are 20 Hidden Object Locations (Air Space Museum-Botanical Garden-Brooklyn Bridge-Brooklyn Market-Bryant Park-Central park-Chelsea Market-Coney Island-Grand Central Station-Historical Society-Hotel-Library-Metropolitan Museum-New York Stock Exchange-Pizza Shop-Prospect Park-Rockefeller Center-Statue of Liberty-Theatre-Zoo) Each scene must be replayed several times in several different modes. There are Listed Item Finds, Missing Vowel Finds, Scrambled Letter Finds, Silhouetted Shape Finds, and Matching Pair Finds. Each of the 5 HO Modes has a collectible Apple (can be whole, sliced, missing a bite, etc.) but only 3 of the HO modes has a collectible 8 Ball. Every scene also has a Fun Fact item that is shown before the start of each scene. If you forget to look for the fun fact item, it will remind you at the end of the scene with sparkles & a message. When you find all 60 8 Balls it will unlock Suduko & Mahjong levels, when you find all 100 Apples it will unlock the Unlimited or Freeplay levels. All fun facts are stored in the Diary. Hidden Object Modes: ?Abc Mode: Normal Listed Item Finds. ?Missing Vowels: Listed Items that are missing the Vowels. ?Scrambled Mode: Listed Item Finds with jumbled words. ?Silhouetted Shape Mode: Items shown as Silhouetted Shapes. ?Pairs: You have to find matching pairs of items. After completing a Hidden Object Scene, there will be a Mini-Game variation to play, such as Spot the Difference, Square Tile Swap puzzles, Match 3 games, Word Search, or a round Jigsaw Puzzles. This developer tweaked the Match 3 game to offer powerups which I personally appreciated! This Collector's Edition version includes 14 bonus locations, 3 extra mini-games and Extra levels to complete. Come join the conversation at my new forum: thewoodsforum.boards.net

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Another Ho-Hummer Not a bad game, but this Adventure Trip offered nothing above or beyond the previous ones. The demo exposed only a few of the mini games, the Match 3 and Memory were slow, the Jigsaw was fun. I usually enjoy the additional games but I wish the devs could come up with something different once in a while. In spite of the sharp, colorful graphics I noticed some occasional blurring. Many items were very small and hidden in darkened areas, the scenes were very full and items well blended. I had some difficulties which required the Hint and Magnifier and that didn't make me happy. Accessing the sparkly areas to find things was annoying, it feels like an interruption of sorts. The Diary contains all the landmarks along with a pic and informative description of each. There are 15 gifts to purchase with earned coins. The Gift Shop prices range from $500 to $7000. A Progress Board keeps track of everything and the usual 5 Game Modes are available. The Fact Symbol is highlighted at the end of level with a little blip of trivia on the subject, slightly interesting. In my opinion this game is not CE worthy, not enough here to justify the higher cost. Considering the replay value of this type of HOG I really feel the SE version will provide ample seek and find enjoyment. It would be great to play HOGs from other developers with fresh creations and a new take on this popular genre. I tire of the same old thing from the same devs over and over again, the boredom has reached its limit and I can't continue supporting them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Trip to new York Do play the trial on this one first. It isn't for me, as it is without any kind of story at all. It is also so annoying that I had to play it with the sound off. Any wrong clicks give you this horrible gong sound that just sucks. It is incredibly tedious and I almost always had to go back to the menu after starting a level as I forgot to pay attention to the "Special Object" for that level and if it is shown anywhere other than the start screen I never found it. The puzzles at the completion of each level are nice, the artwork is very high resolution and incredibly busy wit things that don't belong so they can continue adding levels forever it looks like. I'm also not sure, but I have seen the screen with the airplane and the one with the bridge somewhere or something very close to them. But not one I will buy. I found myself just clicking hints every time they were recharged to get out of the level I was relived when the time was up on the trial.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Totally NOT deserving of CE money I realize that this type of game might represent the wave of the future for hidden object games, and I am on board with that idea. I certainly have played a ton of these over the years. But to throw in a couple of extra levels and declare it to be a CE is an outrageous attempt to get double money for very little. The graphics are beautiful ---- as they should be in 2021. The presentation is simple ---- with no story at all, it should be. So, although the game is ok, I will not support the attempt to pass it off as CE material ---- and the same goes for all the other devs trying to cash in on this disturbing trend.
