Paranormal Files: The Tall Man Collector's Edition is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 33.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like Playing in a Movie I really loved the story line. It felt like you were in a movie. The graphics were stunning. I love games like this-in the woods, its all possible that it could happen, had a Friday night feel... I loved all of the HOS and mini games and the BONUS content was fun as well. I didnt get all of the achievements but its sure fun trying. Im glad it had the Strategy guide built in so I could find the collectables. This is a fantastic game and I wish there were more "camping in the woods, bonfire get together, cabin for the weekend" stuff like that in a game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best game I've played in years I don't usually review games, but I had to review this one because it was that good and I'm hoping they continue the quality of this one in new episodes. The character, graphics, puzzles, storyline, it all worked beautifully. Best non-Nancy Drew Game I've played in the past 8 years!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Paranormal Fun Simply a lot of fun in this one. We play as Rick Rogers, Paranormal Investigator, a wise-cracking detective of the old school in a new generation. A missing person, a concerned sister who turns out to be more than a bystander, a spooky forest, a mysterious mine with evil unearthed by a group of feckless twenty-somethings who need rescuing - yes, we've played this one before and the devs are playfully letting us know that. This time, though... Pros: excellent voice acting and a character with self-mocking humor. A couple of neat plot turns prevent the cliches from becoming overwhelming; actually, by the time we get to an Indiana Jones-style challenge and it's referenced by name, the cliches are pretty darn funny. Great puzzles, some pretty challenging on Hard mode, although Easy is selectable. Useful map, immersive music, excellent game mechanics, plenty of play. Don't look for any overblown drama, this one is just fun. Cons: not a lot, really. The villain is never properly fleshed out and perhaps that is deliberate - it's just evil and that's that. Sometimes a bad guy is just a bad guy. But in the Bonus game we learn that...well, no, that's really about it. I was fortunate enough to beta test this one and couldn't wait for it to appear. And I wasn't disappointed in the final product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent LONG game There's not much I can say that others haven't said. I really enjoyed this LONG game. I hate short games, so that in itself was worth at least 3 stars from me. I found the story interesting (the monster made me think of season 3 of Riverdale) and the detective had a sense of humor. I wanted to slap those spoiled, rich kids for being bullies! Voice overs were good, music was unobtrusive, and the collectibles were fairly easy to find. The puzzles ranged from easy to moderately difficult. The bonus game was long as well, so I was a happy camper. It was a nice continuation of the main story. Overall, it was a good buy for me. I'm looking forward to more of this series in the future. Give the demo a try!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Manic at the Tall man's bidding Based on the finished game with bonus material. I feel the main game was short. I liked the bonus chapter, so it seemed to balance out. Most puzzles were one's I don't like. I did find about ten I liked. I liked the hops. They had ten mini-hops in addition to the regular hops. Bonus chapter you team up with the Sheriff to save people and go after the bad guy. Plenty of collectibles-12 statutes of characters with info. 27 morphing objects and 25 collectible eyes. (most scenes had the morphs and collectibles). Has replays on hops and puzzles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everyone wants to fit in. What a sad story. In the beginning of the game. The story line was was about friends getting together for a fun weekend. But after the 2nd chapter, it was all about wanting to fit in. I play for the story lines. Elephant Games did a wonderful job on this story. I felt it was sad and made me want to play some more to find out the end. I loved everything this game had offer. I really love the story.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Demo Got Me As Far As The Surprise At The Campsite There were a lot of tasks and back & forth in the beginning, not difficult but took away precious time from the good stuff. I was really amazed when one of the first tasks was a zippered case and it actually had a zipper pull that worked!! While looking for clues in the house, the girl who hired Rick waited outside. She was startled by an unexpected visitor and made a mad dash into the woods. Rick uses his GPS map and sets out to investigate the spooky woods. The demo didn't offer much action, but I did thoroughly enjoy the puzzles and the HOPs. The graphics were nice and clear and were enhanced with appropriate colors. None of the purple, pink, blue coverage or colored mists used in so many games these days. The characters voices were good except for the guy with the goofy accent. They were teenagers and looked pretty typical. I love the paranormal games and I think this story will provide a good mystery and some surprises along the way. Rick loves his newly discovered abilities to investigate supernatural happenings and hunt for ghosts. He is off to get to the bottom of all the disappearances that seem to have started about 300 years ago. Right now he is searching for the teens who went missing very recently from the house at the edge of the woods. I didn't really look for any of the collectibles because I don't like losing much demo time, but the morphs just kind of leaped out at me. Due to the color and type of the other two items, they are surely harder to spot since the woods are a good camo. Will purchase during a good sale. I'm anxious to get down to the nitty gritty of this age-old mystery. How about you? God Bless,,,,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Treeman comeith I like this game. Good all around game that is more who done it game than spooky. If I have to pick a bad thing about this game it is similar to some others I played but not all bad though. The bonus game seemed as long as the main game so value is very good. Animation is ok but for the price it is good. Voice acting is good but the main player (you) is a little high pitched but that is a minor flaw.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WHAT LURKS DEEP WITHIN THE DARK WOODS? REVIEW BASED UPON THE ENTIRE GAME 5 Chapters Plus a Bonus Chapter – Strategy Guide: 44 Pages OVERVIEW: As Rick Rogers, paranormal detective, you are off to a forest where people have gone missing for over thirty years. A party is being planned at a country house near this forest by a group of young adults. A year earlier, a girl, Tina Rice, disappeared within this forest while attending a party at the same house. Nicky Summer who is planning this year’s party has asked for your help. She is afraid the same thing will happen this year. When her friends enter the woods and end up missing, it will be up to you to find them. There is something hiding deep within this forest, but who or what that may be is for you to discover. OPINION: This is an excellent thriller which contains a few twists and turns after the demo. The story is well-written, and the player will have no idea what this game is about until they complete the demo and get into the rest of the game. I did not find this game scary; however, I did find it fast-paced with plenty of activities to keep the player engaged. The graphics are dark, setting the mood for spooky fare. This game should appeal to both puzzle lovers and HOP lovers. This is one game which has an equal number of both. MECHANICS: There are four (4) levels of play including a customized version. There are twenty-two (22) achievements. Collect twelve (12) figurines of characters from the game, twenty-five (25) all-seeing eyes and twenty-seven (27) morphing objects. I found most easy to locate. You can replay thirteen (13) HOP scenes and thirteen (13) puzzles. There are ten (10) wallpapers along with a screensaver plus music and video selections. BONUS CHAPTER: it is a sequel. Return to the same woods on another case. Journalist, Mika Stato, along with her cameraman, have disappeared within these woods. This time, you will face a new menace lurking within this forest. The chapter is not related to the main game; however, the quality is consistent with the main part of the game. There are six (6) HOP scenes and five (5) puzzles in this chapter. Surprisingly, the final activity is a HOP scene not a puzzle. HOP SCENES: There are twenty-three (23) HOP scenes within this game. Most of the scenes are lists of items or silhouette. There are a couple of matching scenes along with some multiple-step ones. I found most standard fare seen in most HOP games. My favorite scene was in the bonus chapter in which you must match up items by opening boxes to locate them. I also enjoyed another creative one in the main game in which you locate items on a stained-glass window. PUZZLES: There are twenty-three (23) puzzles in the game. They vary in style and difficulty. I feel the puzzles are better than the HOP scenes in this game. There are two puzzles which allow the player to choose between playing the puzzles in either an “easy” or “hard” mode. There are several connection puzzles in varying forms and styles. The same can be said about sequence puzzles as well. I found none extremely difficult. Most of the puzzles are of medium difficulty. SPOILERS: HERE IS A SAMPLE OF SOME OF THE PUZZLES AFTER THE DEMO: A. Connection puzzle. On a 7 x 5 grid, press buttons with directional arrows on them to create a path which ends up at a star button at the exit. All buttons must be pushed. B. Rope puzzle. Untangle a rope so that no pieces intersect with each other. C. Choice between Easy and Hard modes. Guide a rail cart to the entrance of a mine. In the easy mode you will choose the direction as you move. In the hard mode you must plot the course before you press start. Also avoid obstacles within your path. There are three (3) scenes in this puzzle. D. Choice between Easy and Hard modes. Card puzzle. Matching. First memorize the location of a series of cards, then, when the cards are turned over, choose the card which matches the card the dealer (skeleton) shows you. 3X. BONUS CHAPTER E. Connection puzzle. Connect lines between tokens based on the number of gems upon them. F. Assembly puzzle. Using arrows to move three rows across, down and sideways, rearrange 3 sets of colored tiles so that each row has tiles of the same color. G. Switch puzzle. Switch elephants so they are standing on the proper color.
