Wanderlust: Shadow of the Monolith Collector's Edition is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 25.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it! Gripped from beginning to end. Can't wait for the next installment (hopefully) :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from SOMETIMES IT'S SAFER TO KEEP THE PAST BURIED! Completed Game approximately 8 hours (including completion of all mini-games & CE Bonus Chapter) *29 Scene Locations* (22 main + 7bc) Jane thought she and her brother Victor were simply invited as guest speakers at the Archaeology Lecture on Ancient Mechanisms. After a series of unfortunate events, this speaking engagement turns into an epic adventure that will forever change their lives as they become unwitting pawns of a deadly conspiracy that threatens the existence of humanity itself! There is a TRANSLATION BOOK GADGET that is used 13 times +2 in the CE Bonus Chapter. It is a book that has an attached repetitive mini-game requiring you to use a magnifying glass to find a few symbols in the book as shown on a clue to translate. The symbols are not made larger nor does the magnifying glass reveal hidden symbols so I'm not sure why the included its use. I didn't mind this HO variation but it would have been less annoying if the symbols were more complex or less orderly to make it somewhat challenging. There are 14 HIDDEN OBJECT SCENES +4 in the CE Bonus Chapter. In this Collector's Edition version, each scene has a Morphing Object, most of which are well blended and challenging to find. Most of the scenes are Listed Item Finds but there are also Silhouetted Shape Finds, Find & Replace Items, Matching Pair Finds, Pictured Item Finds and Symbols to find. There are a whopping 56 MINI-GAMES +13 in the CE Bonus Chapter which includes the repetitious Translation Book Gadget games. The games are mostly mechanical-related puzzles that are easily solved on the first attempt. Below are brief descriptions of some of my favorite puzzles throughout the game: ?-Place symbol tiles on 4 sides of a cube that logically fit according to adjacent symbols. ?-Select gear at the correct time to interlock with the main gear. ?-Click to reveal images and match pairs (several variations throughout the game) ?-Choose movement and rotation speeds to interlock gears at the correct moment. ?-Place various sized gears to create continuous movement. ?-Rotate semi-circle to bounce red & blue balls into the correct chutes. ?-Defeat the giant spider by selection directional arrows to dodge its attacks or shields to deflect poisonous gas. ?-Arrange the books on the shelves until they all have the same amount. ?-Select the run button at the correct times to avoid all guards. ?-Fill the entire grid by placing colored tiles with specific coverage amounts. ?-Exchange liquid between 3 columns until the middle column has the exact amount of liquid. The journey continues across 7 new scene locations in this lengthy CE BONUS CHAPTER when a suspicious-looking government agent comes knocking on Jane's door claiming to have found another ancient Monolith. It's been 3-years since Neev's disappearance but Jane is confident that the Monolith investigation will churn up new clues to his whereabouts or at least confirm that he has moved on to the afterlife. There are 4 Hidden Object Scenes +4 HO Morphs (All HO's can be replayed in the CE extra's section to earn gold, silver, or bronze awards, improve accuracy percentages, or pickup missed HO Morphs) There are 13 additional Mini-Games, two of which are associated with the Translation Book Gadget. After finding the final 7 Collectible Symbol Signs, it will unlock the Ultimate Hidden Object Scene (listed items) and finding the remaining 7 Morphing Objects the Ultimate Puzzle becomes available as well. I didn't miss any of the Scene Morphs so I'm not sure if you are given an opportunity to revisit the scenes to search for them but I suspect they would, This COLLECTOR'S EDITION version has 8 Wallpapers, not 4 (and they don't have characters slapped on the beautiful scenery!) 6 Concept Art Pictures (with a before/after slider bar) 10 Music Soundtracks, 11 Achievements (6 available in 3 category star levels) 18 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, an Ultimate Listed Items Hidden Object Scene (unlocked when all Collectible Signs are found) an Ultimate Puzzle (replay of main game puzzle variation, unlocked after completing the Bonus Chapter) 29 Scene Morphing Objects, 18 HO Morphing Objects (you can replay the HOP's in the CE replay section to pick up missing HO morphs) 29 Hidden Symbols Collection, 3 Main Chapters (very long) +Bonus Chapter (long chapter) and a Built-In Strategy Guide. Rated 4 out of 5 by from this game needs a better map !! This Wanderlust edition scores many points. The look of the game is fantastic with realistic scenery and well defined objects. The story line though similar to hundreds of other games does have a modicum of originality. The game play is well defined as HO segments and puzzles are interesting. Something threw me off after the opening scene where Jane learns she must travel to the Congo to rescue her brother Victor who has been kidnapped. We are shown a map of Africa and Jane is navigating via GPS through much of Tanzania, Kenya and all the way to what looks to be Lake Victoria. However none of this is nowhere near the Congo which is much further to the west and slightly north of where Jane ends up. I realize this is still just a game but MadHead usually is much more precise in game development. All in all this game is a far sight better than 95% of the games offered so far in 2019. Personally I have saved lots of money this year since the great majority of new games run the gamut from mediocre to just plain lousy. I can sink my teeth into Shadow of the Monolith so I will acquire it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Started Out Well Then Flopped for Me I was taken in for awhile by the impressive graphics and as well the execution of the developers skill. Alas it was not enough to keep me engaged in the game. I tried though but finally quit. Not every games features and underlying story satisfies all pallets so do recommend that folks decide for themselves.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from disappointed in this one I bought this game (somewhat reluctantly) was not really sure about it, but got on a sale price. As I have gotten farther into the game, I find there's too much "screen jumping/movement", a heck of a lot of cut scenes and conversations. Everywhere one goes in this game, there's yet another puzzle. I enjoyed the others in the series, not so much this one. But, since I bought it, I will continue on with it until I finish it. Alas, not a game that I will replay. But, that's just my opinion. I know many others loved the game. Just was not one for me.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Completed game in less than 4 hours Normally, I would not add negative comments. This game is entirely too short. Do not waste time or money on this game.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Trial: Boring. Felt Old. Even the introduction was boring! Old graphics, cluttered, tiny details. Hard to see items in Hidden Object Game. Mini games...ugh! I wish I had selected skip games! Have to crack codes repeatedly. Wooden characters but they look good. Usually I enjoy Madhead games but I found this one boring with annoying tasks. They need to update their development and design, bring in something new and innovative vs. hold on to old tried and true and boring. I made it about 15 minutes into the trial. To be fair, test it for yourself.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Dreadfully slow game This must be the slowest game in a long time. Took me almost 30 minutes to get to the bridge and that was with skipping all the dialogue. Gave up after that and deleted. I didn't come across anything that would make me pay for it. It was like trying to walk through treacle and getting nowhere fast

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Don't Bother This games looked like it had great potential but sadly it was a dud. I only finished the main game because I paid for the Collector's Edition but couldn't stomach sitting through the bonus play. The game is all over the place and the constant need to "decipher" speech and messages was tedious at best. The memory moments did little to move along the story and I many of the puzzles seemed to stick. I would not recommend this game.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from PUZZLE... AFTER PUZZLE... AFTER PUZZLE... AFTER PUZZLE This could have been an enjoyable game, but everywhere you turn there is a puzzle to do. This is nothing but a puzzle game with a collecting of thousands of boring inventory. A turtle could move faster than the pace of it. Bye.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Slow as Molasses in a Jungle Rife With Puzzles Graphics were great. But the game moved sooo slooow in between each click. A puzzle a minute! Long slow unnecessary close ups you can't click out of! Throw in a cut scene and a puzzle after each click and you've got....tedium!! Of course there are the usual find the gears, find the rocks find a monkey and pour toxic waste all over him..all of which lead to..you guessed it, another puzzle! Very short demo despite the slowwww pace of the game. Definitely not for me!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A huge Bore Fest! Puzzles and story have very little in common..I guess all the high ratings are given by HOP fanatics..... A huge amount of boring puzzles..Your usual occult boredom..Bad acting and most puzzles seemed to be poorly thought out....The story seemed to be written for 10 year olds... The adventure elements of the game were non existent.. Of coarse I'm bored to tears with so called hidden object games.. I love real adventure games but Big Fish never has them I'm going to use up my credits then quit..Been here about 10 years and need a little mental stimulation..

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Spider alert Don’t play this game if you’re afraid of spiders. There is one the size of a grand piano attacking and almost eating someone in the third chapter. He is biting the person in the upper half of the location for as long as it takes you to solve all the puzzles there and find the morphing object. I guess that even those of you who fortunately don't suffer from arachnophobia still will consider this scene gore. Before you reach this location, you already have been locked with an even bigger spider in an arena (and you will, like me, have skipped the fight with the monster) and have had to walk under a tree with spider legs attacking you from the branches. Yuck!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from come ON! kept going back hoping it would get better. What is the deal with these games. I can't use one tool to do the job, have to find another SIMILAR one. (ie: can't use the knife to open a box, must have the OTHER flat tool). one and one and one - ridiculous.
