It's been a long wait...
FINALLY! I've been waiting for a really good Match 3 game for almost 6 months. This is challenging without being impossible and the goals are different from the previous Hellas games which is nice. AND since the title says this is Part One, I'll be waiting for Part 2 to come out. Yay!

So fun!
I own all of the Heroes of Hellas games and this one is fast getting to be my favorite. I love games with oceans which this is - all underwater. Follow same game play as the others but rather than accumulating money for just buildings you accumulate either coins, hearts or "life flowers" for corals, ocean plants, dolphins (with dolphin calls), colorful fish, an ocean dragon, and mermaid and after playing a level you look thru the scene for seashells (not easy to find). Occasionally have to find pieces of a trident or remove vines (definitely not easy - nearly went blind).
Only thing I don't like is the "trumpet toot" whenever you clear a tile with a feather or you find a heart, flower, whatever the goal is for that particular level - very annoying.
So if you want an enjoyable (to me) game with some challenge and lovely scenes without the usual doom, gloom and ugly faces which seem to be the usual offerings these days - enjoy!

No cutsie pie stuff here! An adult 'thinking' match 3
The return of an old favourite with some changes. This is a chain linked M3 you can play in relaxed, normal, or advanced.
In the previous offerings you used your acumen to restore cities that had been destroyed. In this one you will restore an underwater world. It is pre destined so you don't choose what is restored, but its a 3D and very pleasant, serene setting.
This game has the lot! There are achievements and also collectables (shells) that are found on the sea bed of the underwater scene (60) Seems like a lot, but in the main game, there are 108 levels to create the world. This is done by collecting hearts, gold, flowers etc from the game boards. Each one tells you what you are collecting. Some give fish, some plants , some buildings and sea dwellers (mermaids etc)
I am playing in a timed mode and at the end you are not given 'stars'..but you can check your progress by accessing the levels tab in the left hand corner of UWWorld. You can then replay..because that also gives you more of the resource (and a gold cup instead of silver) After you restore the world (main game) there are even EXTRA levels to play!
Each time you earn an achievement it shows up on the top right menu which also shows you how many shells you have collected. They are not marked on the levels though so not sure if you can miss them?
All in all this is an excellent value game with plenty of 'explosions' that do not have silly rockets and whistles going off, they are realistic, and the whole game has a really feel good element to it because you ARE in control of your gameplay and how the tiles fall (or explode)
If you are familiar with the series, its an old friend again, and if not try it, I think you will get hooked. Its a welcome relief from the cutie childlike graphics of many recent M3's of late. Don't miss this one!

Another great in the heroes series
This series just gets better and better. Ok similar style to the previous but there is enough added to keep you happy, well me anyway. I know some are not fans of chain games but for me I love them just adds a bit more challenge. Its great to have a more challenging match 3 as there have been some which are just standard and too easy. This is up there with some of the best in my opinion. Some will like it some will not. Try the demo and make your mind up but for me its a winner

This is a chain match three with a lot of challenging levels. There are plenty of "helpers" in the way of explosions. The underway views are very beautiful.

HMMM, SOMETHING'S JUST A LITTLE OFF THIS TIME ><(((('>
I'm not a huge Chain Match 3 fan but I've always loved Heroes of Hellas games. Origins Part 1, however, seems far too easy this time, something's a little off yet I can't quite figure out what it was that made it less fun to play than the previous games?? The graphics seem muted, less Picasso Clownfish vibrant than before, and large chains were either available in abundance or scarcer than a guppy during shark week. The instructions left a lot to one's imagination, they explain The What's but not The How's and Why's. For me, it was a Red Sea Bannerfish kind of game, but I was expecting a Mitratus Butterflyfish kind of game with cutting edge features and challenging gameplay.
You can play in a Relaxed Mode without a Timer, a Normal Timed Mode or Advanced Mode with less time available. There are a whopping 63 Achievements to earn in increments (0/60) and there are 60 Shells to find on the seafloor before the start of some levels. The Shells will piece together the Shell of Great Wisdom eventually.
Large Chain matches will reward you with Gold Coins that can be included with any preceding Chains of any tile type as long as there are at least 2 matching tiles. Treasure Chests, Gems, Laurels, etc. are collected by dropping them off the honeycomb-shaped board, other collectibles such as Flowers and Hearts are collected by making adjacent matches.
Power-ups will appear on the board such as Amphora Bombs and directional Lightning Bolts, which are activated when you include them within a Chain Match. Other power-ups such as Poseidon, will shuffle the tiles, once you select the Icon on the top-left of the board (requires recharging after each use) Winged Tiles will reveal hidden sections of the board, once they are activated by including in a chain.
Adjacent matches are required to dissipate Dark Storm Clouds, Ropes and Chains require including the blocked tile with at least two identical tiles. Stone Monoliths can only be removed when you include the tile with the same symbol on each monolith, and Steel Monoliths can't be removed.

Really sorry but no
I love chain games but NOT this one;
Don't understand the rave reviews, but each to their own.
It's the same as all the others, I became bored within five minutes. proved by my *yawning*. Decided before I deleted this from my hard-drive I will play my previous game being #4 (yes it is still on my Tower) I prefer that game to this supposedly new one.
Like you Pennmom this game is not doing anything for me, it is very dull, feels more like 2D than the 3D and I have nothing against that. When I loaded my other game the music is more chirpy and vibrant, but deep down I just kept feeling dé jà vu with this version.
The one thing that really irked me with this latest version, is each loaded game is taking too long, I really do not have time like that to spare, rather go load a card game least I know I will reach the end patiently and not stressing out looking at the clock like just happened with this new one but didn't with #4 - go figure.
Try it yourself probably leave me all by my own-some sitting on the fence! (if we have any left after all the fires still-on-going)
