Dreadful Tales: The Fire Within Collector's Edition is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 36.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from DARN fine coffee! I honestly just started this game a few minutes ago and I just wanted to say "Thank you" to Eipix for all the great references throughout to Twin Peaks, probably my all-time favorite tv series. The game's fun, too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Very Good Game I don't play many Hidden Objects but when I do, I demand more from them than I do my preferred Timed Resource Management ones. This has most, if not all: atmosphere, lovely graphics, a banger of a storyline and decent HOs and minis. Indeed, the scenery is so aesthetically pleasing, I've already clipped one scene and set it as my desktop background. The story? In a nutshell: desperation in finding a suddenly missing girl in an desolate woodland, with the added frightmare of a burned maniac running around, as legend has it. There are morphing objects and collectibles to find. You have the typical four game modes. You can turn off voices and sounds--I turn off the music and voices to get a more granular feel of the artistry and the story. It's now a part of my games library. Good game, please try it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing!!! Honestly, this game is great, its creepy which is a good start for a horror game. The puzzles are decent as well which is always a bonus, the visuals are good in my opinion, they set the mood well and give a creepy vibe. The only downside, in my opinion, is that the skull branches with the fire underneath arent a wallpaper option :( (But seriously this game is good:))

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SUSPENSE FROM BEGINNING TO END! I have NEVER left a review for a game on here, though after playing this game, I had to leave a review. I think this is my favorite HOP game by far. I loved the suspense of this story. I am a horror/suspense enthusiast and this game had both. So creepy and had me on my toes all the way through. The length of the game was perfect! The game was just challenging enough for me. KEEP DREADFUL TALES COMING!!! I cannot WAIT for the next game to be released!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Story, Spooky Music, Great Atmosphere, Fun Puzzles I'm only an hour into this game but cannot wait to review. This game has an exceptionally fun, scary, story. The music is appropriately spooky, and, although there is a lot of hidden object activity, there are also different types of puzzles. The Fire Within is just like your favorite scary movie, only YOU are in it! Have fun!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from another excellent game in this new series I really enjoyed this game.. creepy indeed, with a great "your on your own" theme. Loads of great puzzles and graphics were excellent. This new series certainly has raised the level for these devs who were getting, in my opinion, a bit lazy with too many games coming out that were the same. Also the length was great with lots of action everywhere. A great game for Halloween.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Realistically Creepy Story, Believe It or Not I really enjoyed this game, although it is darker than the usual HOPA storyline, both visually and in story arc. Not much is resolved in terms of story as we are told two myths or urban legends (the bonus chapter is another myth but related to the main game). We get to decide if we believe the story or not. This HOPA is realistically creepy. As with the first game in this series, this is a dreadful tale and again, I find the game play excellent. I can always do with fewer HO scenes but these were a challenge at times. This developer's puzzles make me think, and I enjoy that. What I think is best about this series is the way Eipix integrates the HOs and puzzles into the storyline fairly seamlessly. I liked playing as three different characters, as well. Obviously, there is no one game for everyone but for everyone there is game. Play the demo and see if this is a game for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent, eerie entry to the series Excellent entry into the series. Interesting story. Well developed backstory for the "char man". Loved the fall scenery, and ambient sounds. Although not a "halloween" game, an excellent spooky game to play in October.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5 Stars all Around .....and 5 stars deserving, why? The game had a good story. The games story had interesting characters and the introduction of this production timely for the spooky season. Can hardly wait for the next game to compliment this winning series.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The creep factor is cranked to 20 on this one! I honestly don't know where all these negative reviews are coming from! DANG! I sure got my money's worth with this one! Not only is it a long game (roughly 6-7 hours), but it made me rethink whether I should even go hiking again! I would not recommend this one for kids because it's pretty intense at times. The storyline was a little thin, but overall the game play was amazing. You play as 3 different people (one per chapter), but it's not like those Romance games were you switch around within a scene. The HOPs were some of the best I've ever played. I really had to look hard for items that were staring me in the face! The morphs, collectibles and tapes were fairly difficult to find. You have to find all the collectibles to be able to access the souvenirs. Luckily, you can find the ones you missed at the end (THANK YOU DEVS!). I was impressed by the creep factor without the use of pop-up ghouls to make you jump. There were some moments where the story takes you back to another view point from another person angle, which I thought was a nice touch. To be honest, I don't remember the first game from this series (even though I did buy it). But after I recover from this one, I'll definitely be checking out the first one again! As always, please try the demo first... but don't play it alone at night unless you really into that sort of stuff (like I am!!!)
