Mystery Case Files: Black Crown Collector's Edition is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 110.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Story Strikes Hard!!!! I have always wanted some really fun and fascinating HOP games, to be honest, I find most of the Mystery Case File games fit that bill for me. Black Crown is really good and to be honest has one of the best Bonus Chapters I have seen in a HOP series before, I won't say specifically why but image a little kid all happy on Christmas is what I felt like when I first started playing the Bonus Chapter. The Main game is really good as well and I am always impressed with the quality in these games. I struggled at some points in the game with the puzzles but I also feel I really wanted to get to the end of the game and see what happens, I tend to be that way, so I don't think that is the games fault. I liked the characters in the game and I felt like they were apart of the story, I know that seems weird to say but some games I have played have used characters as simple from point A to point B type of characters not including them in the overall story or forgetting about them after a while, I do not personally believe this game does that. As far as the gameplay goes, it is a HOP game, lots of puzzles and HOP challenges which fits the bill of what I wanted going into the game. I only disliked one puzzle from what I can remember and that was a puzzle in which we had to find the Black Crown. Since it is on the Main Menu Screen and even here in the images on the Website it felt kind of pointless to have a puzzle matching crowns when clearly the one crown that we have seen through out promotional material and Menu Screens is the Black Crown. Besides that I really liked this game and unfortunately, because of spoilers, I can not speak about everything I liked/loved about this game. I highly recommend you give this game a shot, I also recommend that you check out other games in this series!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bravo! Well Done! Like most Mystery Case Files (MCF) games made by Eipix, this one is also based on an earlier game, "13th Skull," back from the days when the MCF games were really original, interesting, and made the series the hit it became. Although Eipix has been practically a failure when it comes to making MCF games, essentially trying to capitalize on those old "hits" (and quite pathetically at that), this game - "Black Crown" - is a marked and wonderful exception. Yes, it is still based on an old game ("13th Skull"), but it is actually quite original and *extremely* interesting in its own right. As for the game itself... as I indicated, the storyline is original and very interesting. The Hidden Object Scenes (HOPs) are quite easy and also very interesting. The puzzles are perhaps too easy, but still quite interesting as well. There are several achievements, of course (as one would expect from most Collector's Edition games these days). I usually don't like the achievements in most games, because they distract us too much from the story iitself. However, Eipix has always been excellent about designing their achievements so as not to distract you from the story itself AND they give you a chance to get almost all the achievements even after you finish the game! Note: I say "almost" because, in all the Eipix games I have played so far, there was at least one achievement that you could not get if you had already finished the game - the one you get for playing a Matching game instead of a HOP, during the game itself. But there is no such achievement in this present game, so you get a chance to still get all the achievements, even if you were unable to do so during the game! In short, I really enjoyed this game; and I think you will too. :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best game I have ever played By far, I don't know how this game only got three and one quarter stars. It is by far one of the best games I have ever played.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I didn't want it to end! I am clearly not gamer who writes reviews, however, here goes. This game was challenging & fun. I was totally caught up in the story line and felt there were many unexpected aspects, which kept the game interesting. I also love find the morphs, crabs and souvenirs. I like that when you finish the bonus chapter you can go collect anything you missed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from bishopsmom I really liked this game. It took me back to one of my favorites, 13th Skull which I played over and over again. In this new version, I loved Mama Amiee's cameo appearance, I wish they could have worked Cooter in to the story. I was surprised that just when I thought that I had finished the game, the evil pirate changed the conditions and I had more to play. The bonus chapter was a complete and different twist to the tale and was totally great. I love this game!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Game Flavour of the Old MCF An excellent game pure and simple. The highlights of this game are: fantastic artwork ; superb voiceovers ; great storyline ; excellent HOS & some with unique features ; very decent length and the bonus chapter well connected to the main game but with a "different setting". If you are a dedicated MCF fan of days of old you will not be disappointed! Enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best one I've played in a while This game was great. No bugs, no problems, just smooth sailing. It was long too, plenty of hours played. I finished the game over the course of several days. Worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mystery Case Files: Black Crown Collector's Edition is great.. I really liked Mystery Case Files: Black Crown Collector's Edition I thought it was a great game but it's not for beginniners that's for sure. I liked the gameplay and storyline. The puzzles were tough but I got some of them but I had to skip some as well. Try it for yourself and see how you like it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb Game! I've been playing BF for over 16+ years and this is a top contender of one of my most favorite games. Black Crown had an excellent story line that kept me engaged throughout the entire play, which has been a problem for me with some games. Fantastic graphics, clever HOPs and a challenging play. Didn't have any technical problems playing the HOPs or items in search and find were not referred to correctly. Great mini games too. This game play was relaxing and enjoyable. Kudos writers!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thanks Eipix! I am not a fan of these cookie cutter, churn-'em-out as fast as you can new games. I like the older games, true adventure gaming, But this is a beauty by Eipix. Graphics are very well done and completely immersible and atmospheric. Puzzles are great fun and the HOG's are (thank God, cuz I hate 'em) actually enjoyable! Eipix did a great job on this. Solid storyline. Being able to do 360 degrees in a 3D environment to find goodies and solve situations would make it even better- like the older games! Thanks Eipix! About time!
