Customer Reviews
League of Light: Growing Threat is rated 2.5 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lots of Hidden Objects I really enjoyed this game. I was so glad to have a game with so many hidden objects. That is the part of the games I like the best. I have never been great with the puzzles and skip most of them on other games. But I was actually able to get many of the puzzles in this game. There may have been a lot of back and forth to the same areas, but for me and what I was looking for it was very entertaining.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hidden objects galore! If you are tired of running about with a poorly written adventure , looking for a paperclip to open that bag and just want to get on with the fun of the Hidden object page. This is for you! It is page after page of Hidden object and a mini game. I love it. Still, they should of renamed it. I am allso a fan of League of Lights. This is much different. Should give it a new name and carry on!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from YOU'LL EITHER LOVE THIS GAME OR LOATHE IT (I preferred the CE because of the collectible owls) Completed Game approximately 5.5 hours (including completion of all puzzles & CE Bonus Chapter) Difficulty Range: Intermediate-Expert Welcome to The Little Shop of Horrors, you've come in Vain detective, this Bud is NOT for you! Mandrake has taken over the city of Oaksmor and killer plants are spreading their spores at a break-necked pace and spewing deadly poisonous pollen. Can the League spread their Light or will the Mandrake spread darkness and extinguish human life existence into oblivion? If you like challenging puzzles and unique, entire room/scene hidden object scenes, you will love this game. If you don't enjoy the challenges you'll hate it. There's no middle ground, and I predicted this scenario the second I started playing it. You have to compare apples to apples, this is no ordinary HOPA game, the developers went out on a limb to try something different, so kudos to them, they are the only developers to have the ba@#s to try something new, so at least give the game a try before determining you don't like it solely based on the naysayer's reviews :) I love that this developer took a risk with the format out of the norm, and yet slightly Retro. This is simply a Hidden Object Game with Mini-Games and a little bit of a story. You play a mini-game to unlock an area on the map (indicated by Green Gears) once the puzzle is solved, several Green arrows appear. Each Green Arrow is a whole scene Hidden Object Scene with 1-2 puzzles within. The Puzzles are fantastic, they are original, they are challenging, they are really, really fun! The HO's are creative, challenging and just as much fun as the puzzles, maybe more so! This is a long game because of the abundance of HO scenes, it has great replay value because of them too. Collectibles (CE version only) There are 32 Collectible Owls located in the main scenes as well as the original Hidden Object Scenes. Most of the Owls are well-blended and can be tricky to spot. This has always been my favorite collectible and one I look forward to, so don't ever abandon these wide-eyed critters :) In my opinion, the CE version was more enjoyable because of the collectible Owls, vs, this SE version which doesn't have them. Gadgets/Helpers: There is a Toxin Apparatus Gadget that is used 11 times with an associated mini-game (which I ?'d!) You complete Hidden Object Scenes to collect a specified number of Flowers in a Phial and place them in the apparatus which triggers a mini-game of connecting atoms of opposing color. The Toxin is then used to destroy the killer plant which is also collected for the final scenes. Hidden Object Scenes: There are a whopping 49 Hidden Object Scenes +20 in the CE Bonus Chapter. If you have read my reviews you will know that I am rarely challenged by the HOP's nowadays because they have become nothing more than junkpiles with un-hidden objects in plain sight. These are beautiful scenes, creative scenes, entertaining scenes, and above all, they have items that are at times, crazy-hard to spot! The HOP scenes aren't located in a dark zoom zone corner of the room, they are the room, the entire room! They are mostly Interactive List Finds, but every time I thought they couldn't surprise me with something new, BAM! something new was right around the corner, items to locate on conveyor belts all over the room going in different directions, an open-doored elevator with items in the background as the elevator moved, creative HOP's following orders and recipes (not the usual stuff) Pollen-filled rooms that you click to push away pollen for brief periods, only to ooze back, Massive amounts of the same objects, such as 40 tiny Fleur-de-lis, or 30 sticks of dynamite... I looked forward to the HOP's for the first time in several years folks! Every original HOP has 1-2 puzzles to solve. In the CE version, every original scene has a Hidden Owl (Heads-up: don't forget to look for the collectible Owl as well on the scene where you collect 12 Owls, but only in the CE version) Towards the end of the game, some scenes are repeated because of a reinfestation. Those repeated scenes don't have puzzles or CE Owls (unless you didn't find it the first time) Mini-Games: There are 32 Mini-Games +12 in the CE Bonus Chapter. These puzzles aren't for the faint of heart, they aren't impossible to solve, but most are tricky or require a little bit of thought (and sometimes several ? resets lol) Nearly all Hidden Object Scenes have at least one puzzle, some have two, with the exception of the repeated scenes. There is a repetitive game associated with the Toxin Apparatus which requires connecting several atoms. I actually loved this puzzle that increased with difficulty each time! I can honestly say that I really enjoyed all of the puzzles offered, but here's a list of some of my favorite puzzles: ?-Connect all Atoms with various openings (you can't connect identical colored atoms to each other) Used 11 times in the Main Game. ?-Rotate individual disks & groups of disks until all yellow & all green pie sections are connected to each other as well as the central disks. ?-Drag colored chains to free up spaces that allow the gold chain to be placed in its matching slot. ?-Select chips and then a directional arrow to navigate to various exits that will close after a chip exits. (use other chips as bumpers) ?-Place colored chips by trial & error, yellow means the chip is the correct color but in the wrong placement, green means the chip is the correct color & placement. ?-Drag light beams across every star to light them up. ?-Jump Scarabs on a pyramid to remove all but 1 scarab. ?-Arrange statuettes by solving riddles for correct placement. ?-Make specified numbers of connections for all numbered squares. ?-Super Puzzle: solve a series of mechanical type puzzles. Bonus Chapter (CE Version Only) Soon after ridding Oaksmor of Mandrake and her spore minions, Edward Nevell, the Scientist, receives a letter from Agent Jonas Thorn, asking for help his help when the invasion returns, but can he be trusted? There are 20 Hidden Object Scenes and 12 Mini-Games to keep you busy. There are no Collectible Owls in the Bonus Chapter. Collector's Edition version Extra's: 24 beautiful Wallpapers, 36 Concept Art Pictures, 8 Music Videos, 6 Movie Video Cutscenes, 8 Achievements (6 with 3 categories) 1 Fresco Puzzle (FYI: can be completed at ANY time, even before playing the game, an achievement for completion) 32 Collectible Owls~1 in every scene including the HOP's (You can return to any scene to pick up missed Owls by clicking on the empty Owl slot in the collectibles Tab) 3 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a Built-In Strategy Guide. Rated 4 out of 5 by from An amusing little HO offering. This may not be the most creative of the League of Light episodes, and I have them all, but it is an amusing, if rather simple, game. As another reviewer commented, there are many hidden object sequences. This is, after all, an HO game, so how can that be a complaint! The plot is not new, then again, neither are the plots of the vast majority of games offered. There are just so many twists that can be invented, even by the most creative, the most talented writers. The color palette used for Play League of Light - Growing Threat is a little garish for my taste, but not excessively so. The background music is, for the most part, appropriate for the action, and is not intrusive. While this will not be a contender for game of the year, it is a pleasant way to spend a little leisure time.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not good unless you are a big fan of HO games I rarely really dislike a game but this is an exception. Fortunately I used a coupon for it. The game started out ok and then seemed to degenerate into a constant series of HO scenes with the goal of getting these huge flowers, taking them back to main screen and making more serum. In order to get the serum you have to keep playing the same game of fitting sort of molecules together. You did keep going to some new locations but also revisited the same sites. Many of the scenes were dark and the objects hard to see even after hitting the hint button and many were barely visible around the edges of the screen. If you are a huge fan of HO games then this might be great for you. As you may have guessed I am not.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hidden Object Scene Crazy! If your the type person who likes constant Hidden Object Scenes this game is for you, its cram packed with HO Scenes. Main game has about 50+ HO Scenes. So if your one of types who used to like the constant HO scene loves you will love this game!! But no not for me! I like SOME HO scenes but not one right after another like this game! This game is HO Scene crazy!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Just no I had a free game voucher going spare so I thought I'd give this one a whirl. I'd read the reviews but I thought "Surely it can't be that bad?" It is. It is so very, very bad. To develop your potion after every few scenes you have to play this "fit it together" puzzle which gets more than tedious after a couple of goes. Then it's back to HOS after HOS with intermittent puzzles. Never have I pressed the hint and skip buttons so often and so soon just to get through this wretched game. Save your vouchers for something else.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO THIS SERIES? Within half an hour I was wishing I had'nt wasted my money! Why did you change the tried and tested format? It is so repetitive and boring! We just do the same thing over and over with absolutely no variance at all! I stuck with it for an hour and a half but it is so blah! Let's go collect flowers and make a toxin every single time.NOT!!!!!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from terrible game The League of Light games used to be perfectly done and one had great expectations with this one. But it only consists of a serie of Hidden-Object-Sceneries. It is not even a game, just a collection of HO-scenes... deeply disappointing.
