Living Legends: The Crystal Tear Collector's Edition is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 31.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved It, Loved It, Loved It : ) I really enjoyed this fantastic game and I even liked some of the Mini-games (unusual for me ;) I liked the story line and the Hidden object scenes were all enjoyable and fun. I was finding the "collectibles" nearly impossible to find until I checked my display settings on my 'puter after remembering that I had it set for "night light" that changes the spectrum somewhat & un-clicked it and then found all was well and find-able :) Voice-overs were pretty good as was the music [I turned it down low] Graphics and the little thoughtful things like being able to check to see if I found all the collectibles are something these Developers are great at plus the maps were good and informative. When I play I usually have a lot of interruption and seldom remember if I even looked much less found them. I am giving this one a full 5 ***** out of a possible 5 ***** on my personal enjoy-ability scale :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5 STARS? NO... IT CAN'T BE... BUT IT CAN BE! You won't believe it, but I bought this game at a 70% discount (for 6$) in the first minutes of release, and did not regret it at all. 4 hours flew by as one instant, had to take breaks to relax. But the game dragged me very much. I rarely like “hidden objects” games enough to be completely satisfied, but this is one of them. I think that it's not in vain that this game has Big Fish Editor's Choice. The plot is interesting, albeit typical for games of this genre. As usual, we save the world from evil, and whoever is this evil - still try to guess. But here it is interestingly arranged, so I did not pay attention to it at all. The search for objects is not bad, the objects are clearly visible, I did not particularly slow down. But with mini-games it was more difficult because of achievements, basically. Even if you set "custom" difficulty, you still cannot complete the achievement “pass 14 mini-games before charging the pass without leaving them”. It's just incredible hardcore, I got all the other achievements quite easily, except for this one. Why do so... On some puzzles I have been stuck for a particularly long time. But they are very good and not very complex, if you think about it. I would also like to praise the main menu. I melted from an orchestra of mice before loading. They are just wonderful. I also really liked the clock that displays the time of my computer. And in general, everything looks very high quality and beautiful, the developers tried their best. Unless you look for mice on locations - you will break your eyes, but for this there is a built-in guide with all the instructions. Although even with guide it’s hard to find :) I don’t know why we collected morphing objects if they weren’t to be seen anywhere in the bonus menu. It is sad. Or is it a mini-game with mice just opening for all morphing objects? Interesting, very interesting ... But I am still 100% satisfied with this game. I really liked helping the animals and looking at them in a frozen version. It is too beautiful. Artists are just geniuses. The main part takes 3 hours 15 minutes. The bonus chapter takes almost an hour of playing time. As a result, you will spend 4 hours in the game. I do not complain at all about the duration, the game is as long as I need. Just wonderful. Each location we have 2 mice and 1 morphing object. There are 21 locations in the main game, and 8 in the bonus part. There are 29 locations in total. As it usually happens, some locations in bonus are repeated from the main part, but they are slightly changed. In the end, we must collect 58 mice and 29 morphing objects, if I did not mess up. When collecting all the mice, a mini-orchestra will open for you, which you can control. It is so cute that it broke me down. And you’ll get a bonus game “snake”, where you need to collect a round dance of mice. I passed only on an "easy" level of difficulty, because on a difficult one - this is not for me. And only later I realized that you can control mice by the arrows on the keyboard. Using the mouse is very difficult. And there is a slight delay in response, but there is nothing to worry about. On the contrary, it’s even more interesting. The game has a total of 12 Hidden Object Scenes, 13 mini-games, 34 cut scenes, 24 achievements, 8 desktop wallpapers, 12 concept art, 5 BGM (background music), 5 screensavers. List of mini-games (for those who are interested): 1. Find a pair (objects, mice, bats) 2. Match-3 3. Connect the path 4. Cut off the necessary tiles 5. Rearrange the icons in the right places 6. Relate the components of things 7. Keep your balance 8. Take a path through the points 9. Conquer more space 10. The number of multiple compounds 11. Cut the rope at the same time 12. Walk the path through all the cells without repeating 13. Rearrange the element so that it intersects correctly I don’t know how to give good descriptions to mini-games, but since this game deserves a solid “five” from me ... I have to paint everything to the maximum. Very rarely I rate games at "five", usually at "four". So 4Friends, you are great, I bow to you. If you look at the credits, you will see a huge number of people who worked on this game. I thank them all for such a hard work. The game came out incredibly beautiful and interesting. I will look forward to the next games! The game weighs 1.2 GB. This is for those who are calculating their free hard drive space.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Really Enjoy Twisted Fairytales! Just finished the demo and I think this is a fine game. I just loved the cute little mice band at the opening. I always liked the Cinderella tale, but this version is much more interesting. It was fun and the demo went by so quickly. It did not have one single task that was frustrating or time consuming. How unusual to play with no keys to find, no endless back-and-forth! I liked that! The characters were very nicely rendered and the voices were very good. I loved the rich colors and thought the scenery was beautiful, excellent graphics. The story moved along at a nice pace, inventory filled up quickly but items didn't remain there for long. Everything that I saw in the demo was very beautiful, as it should be in a fairytale, and very nicely illustrated. The storyline piqued my interest and I am anxious to play the entire game and maybe the Bonus Chapter will tell more of this sad family situation. I liked the talking clock, it was an unusual gimmick and I thought it was pretty. This was a first time for me ever saying anything good about a gimmick. Have always hated them. There wasn't much HOG activity in the demo, there were several games. But they were all fun, not super challenging. I am not a puzzle fan, but here I liked helping change the mice into horses and the limited moves game to release 3 wolves from the board. There are collectibles and morphing mice (58), find 2 in each scene. The mice are transparent, making them a little harder to spot. And they are collected to help find 7 members of a mouse band. How cute is that? Pop-out side bars indicate how many collectibles in each scene and I appreciate that feature. I don't know if any morphs are in the HOGs. Just a couple of things bugged me in the demo: the game froze several times for minute or so and there was black screen stalling between several of the scenes. Hope these were just demo issues, because I have already purchased the game! I am looking forward to a long visit in fairytale land and find out what's really going on in Crystal Kingdom.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Fun & Lovely Hops I Love this game. Lovely hops. Relaxing puzzles, like matching roses, bats, mice. I wish the last puzzle in the main game and bonus game had a expanded version of the matching because I didn't like the numbered mini-games. I liked the similar match 3 type mini-game. The snail and the lion shield mini-games. I didn't like folding the map or the this + that, or the skeleton hops. Some hops were used more than once and I didn't mind. They are so lovely. No trunk or tool box stupid ones. The last hop in the bonus chapter is a repeated scene with different items to choose and it didn't make it into the replays and I don't know why. It has more info on the opening page which has Strategy guide, credits and our games. It's nice to open the guide after you finish the game without creating a new profile. Their games are Edge of Reality, Dark City, Bridge to Another World and Immortal Love. I liked the 2 mice to collect per scene and 1 morph per scene. I had to redo the bonus chapter because after they were done talking in the very last scene, I thought I could pick up my collectibles. I was wrong. I didn't have to repeat the main game to replay the bonus chapter. I had to pick up the mice in the ballroom twice. In the bonus section you have the word collections. It has immobile mice and after finding so many mice in the game a mouse will move. When I touch the mice they play a instrument or sing. You can make one or all play by touching them. After I found all the mice in the game it had a mice puzzle that I didn't care about. I would have liked a elaborate matching mini-game instead or a elaborate hops. The trial ends in part of chapter 3. The map has nice looking achievements, current tasks, review notes and events-can replay movies here while still playing the game. I don't know why chapter 3 is called Lucille because you don't meet her until chapter 4. But she does have a picture of herself in chapter 3. Some placement of items are particular. Have to put down cupcake before the paper, put note on nail by the pumpkin, etc. Some things look so real. The flowers in the bedroom. The marble cherubs. The magical clock Celeste that you put the crystal into. I don't often see a white peacock but I know they are real and I have a few pics of them and I liked the normal peacock. This game has 6 chapters + bonus. Collect 58 mice & 29 morphs. Replays on 18 hops, 19 mini-games, 34 movies and 5 music. 8 wallpaper, 12 concept art and 5 screensavers. I think this game is worth full price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOOKS LIKE MY FRIEND IS IN TROUBLE – FAIRY GODMOTHER TO THE RESCUE?? Living Legends the Crystal Tear is such a wonderful game with phenomenal graphics and a storyline, although told and retold many times is a still a favorite. In the Crystal Tear, the developer tells the tale with a twist that is interesting and held my attention throughout the game, well as much as I’ve been able to complete for now. I am not a fast gamer who can rush through a game and puzzles within a short period of time as I tend to look at and enjoy every detail, particularly when a game is as graphically rich as the Crystal Tear. I simply had to stop and enjoy every little detail that an amazing group of artists put into this game. The HOS are very good, and it was not always easy to find the bits and pieces that were on a list. The list style of HOS are my favorites and fortunately there are many of that type while at the same time there is a nice variety of others. Many of the HOS are puzzle like in design, so they kept me quite entertained as I played. The mini games are very good and not all of them are easy. A favorite puzzle looked quite easy at first glance, but it kept me busy for over thirty minutes as I tried to align the pieces to make a keyhole. There should have been a reset button for that puzzle since I started off on the wrong foot and it took a while to get everything into the right position. The puzzles were overall quite excellent and kept me busy and happy as I solved my way through the game. Living Legends the Crystal Tear was an instant purchase for me as soon as it was released. I didn’t need to play the demo to know that this would be a top-quality game that included all the elements that I enjoy when playing. I own every game that this developer has released, and I think there was maybe only one that didn’t hit the mark. IMHO, this is probably one of the best games ever from this developer and they have created several series over the years. If you are looking for some great games to play, do a search here on BFG and try some of the other games this developer has created. Even though the Crystal Tear was an instant buy for me, please try the demo to see if it is a game you will enjoy. Happy gaming!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An Intriguing Twist on the Cinderella Tale I love Living Legends games, and this one is no exception. There is something magical about the blending of their lovely artwork, their trademark music, their interesting plots and gameplay that makes for an enchanting experience… The collectibles were fun and challenging to find – the mice (2 per scene) are transparent and blend in well – each time you collect a certain amount (in the extras) one of the frozen band mice there returns to its original state and plays an instrument, which you can stop or start. The morphing objects (1 per scene) were small but not microscopic and provided a bit of a challenge to find – they stayed in each state 20 seconds and transitioned to the next quickly (1 second). Some mini-games were easy, some took a bit of work. Hidden object scenes were fun to play, some of them cute, and all of the above fit with theme of story. There is some critter action within scenes, (which I love) but no helper/gimmick, save for a magical clock that tells the backstory – cut scenes – each time you find and give it a crystal tear. It fit for plot and forwards gameplay in a realistic way (for this fantasy), so didn’t feel intrusive…fast-travel map shows collectibles & morphing objects needed to find, as well as a pull out tab to the left of screen. With the way the extras are set up, there doesn’t appear to be any link to go back and collect them post game. One possible drawback - for those who have young children and are considering playing this with them – the heroine says “d**n” at one point when she drops a needed ring out of reach. (Filter wouldn't let me write out the word here) Personally that didn’t bother me, but I know it might for some… I loved the demo, didn’t want to quit when I reached the end, and have purchased the CE, eagerly looking forward to when I have more time to play in full. So, get swept up in the fantasy to see another side of Cinderella, and give the free trial a whirl… You never know, it might be a perfect fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dorthy had magic slippers - now Cinderella does too! What a fun game... very much enjoying everything this game has to offer. I really like all games by 4 Friends. I was also very excited when this was released, because it seems there have been MANY new releases of time management games (which I do not play nor buy).
