Nevertales: Hearthbridge Cabinet Collector's Edition is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 29.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A fun escape I really enjoyed this game. I liked the storyline (the unsuspecting young hero called upon to save the Taleworld) and I felt that the graphics and ambient music and sounds were fantastic, too. I enjoyed the puzzles and hidden-object areas, and found them challenging but not brain-breaking--which is what I like. The bonus chapter is enjoyable, too. I didn't focus much on the morphs and collectibles, so any I found were purely by chance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Taleworld made out of Stories I enjoyed this game. The hops and mini-games are nice. The achievements are achieve-able. It's full of extras. It has hops that I like to play again to get achievement. I liked the last mini-game in the main game that was a unique stain glass jigsaw puzzle. You can replay a different stain glass jigsaw from the bonus material. I think the jigsaw from the game was prettier. It has 5 difficulty options. I choose the bloom so I could skip in one second. The extras are 28 collectible masks, 28 morphs, 17 morphs in the hops and 16 souvenirs. Has a good indicator. Four chapters + bonus. In the extras the collectible after all is found (you can go back and pick them up) turns into a Treasure Hunt after you finish that it turns into the Ultimate hops. You can replay the ultimate hops. I think they could have made this better. I didn't care for the cobwebbed, sun bleached silhouette hops. I would have liked a better picture with a list. Replay 17 hops, 10 music. Three concept art and 12 wallpapers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun game I was pleasant surprised by this one, I expected a total different one because nevertales is usually different, but I had a lot of fun playing this one. Graphics are amazing, and the gameplay was a bit different, all in all a very good one and I will definitely buy this one!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun Fairy Tale Type Game I was surprised how much I liked the game.. It is definitely a Mad Head quality game. Some people just do not like fairy tales I suppose.,just as I do not always like the dark and dismal. I do like that there were a lot of different puzzles and ways to seek and find. I would think it would be good for beginners and the intermediate. One does have the option to make it harder though if you wish.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another Good One! I really like the Nevertales series. I have the other six, so now I have all 7. The art work on this is beautiful, and good animation, too. In fact, there isn't anything that I don't like about it. I won't go into all the details since others that have commented already did so. I don't understand why it got so few stars. This is really an enjoyable game. In any case, it was a buy for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ONE OF THE BEST NEVERTALES GAMES IN YEARS Nevertales Hearthbridge Cabinet is the ninth game in the series and only the third one that I have purchased. I’ve not been a fan of the series in general but this one grabbed me, and I loved the game. There is really nothing new in the storyline with the ever present evil of some sort to be defeated but I found this game excellent with a young hero who is suddenly thrust into a world he never knew existed when his grandmother falls into a coma. What really captured me is the beautifully created Taleworld that is full of color and crystal clear graphics. Although the storyline is the premise of most of the Nevertales games, I found the way the story unfolded with the new Hearthbridge Guardian from the time he learns of his grandmother’s illness and stepping up to save Taleworld. This is simply a beautiful game that for me was a joy to play. The HOP scenes are terrific and a few are very creative but for the most part they are what we have seen before but hey, this is the premise of HOPA games so who cares. I simply enjoyed playing the scenes and finding the objects. As others have mentioned the puzzles are nothing new but I found them very entertaining and easy to solve. Some of my favorite types of puzzles are included in the mix and maybe one or two did seem new. I think I only skipped one puzzle because I hate dodging obstacles whether they are in the clouds or on a street. For many of us who have played hundreds of HOPA games at BFG, this game will seem like the same old thing, but I still enjoy the genre and always enjoy finding the hidden objects and gameplay in general. Even though I love this game, please try the demo to see if it is one you will enjoy. Happy gaming!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not The Usual Mystery This game is very well presented and a whole lot of fun. One can always count on Mad Head to produce the best. I haven't finished it as yet, but have been laughing and enjoying the many puzzles it offers as well as hidden objects. I felt I had to let all know, even though I haven't finished playing, how great this game is for everyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A GAME WHICH PROVIDES A ‘TALEQUAKE’ OF EXCITEMENT REVIEW BASED UPON THE ENTIRE GAME 4 Chapters Plus a Bonus Chapter – Strategy Guide: 37 pages (My time: 6Hours) OPINION: Fly off into the clouds on another adventure to Taleworld, a kingdom created by dreams and stories and fueled by imagination. When your grandmother, the Heathbridge guardian, falls into a coma, you are summoned to take her place in battling an evildoer, the Tall Man. Your grandmother, along with Eliah, the Soulstone Guardian, keep the portal closed between the two worlds. The Tall Man has entered this world to collect the Alltale Heart. You must stop him before his dastardly plans cause this world to collapse. What a wonderful family game for the spring holiday season! The beauty of this fairy tale land should lift the hearts of those playing it during a bleak period for the world. The beautiful rainbow array of colors and flowers provides a cheerful, bright background for this game. This game is truly a work of art and a storybook come-to-life. I found the pace excellent with plenty of activities. There are some creatively designed puzzles and HOP scenes. The collectibles are masks and morphing objects. A jigsaw puzzle can be played at the end of the game upon collecting all the collectibles. Also, upon completion, return to the scenes and locate souvenirs within the scenes. There are seventeen (17) HOP scenes and all can be replayed. There are also numerous mini-HOP scenes scattered throughout. There is a variety of different styles of scenes including lists of items, silhouette, pattern, and matching. All scenes have a morphing object. The time and accuracy of the searches is given for each scene. There are two scenes which I found exceptional. Both are within the bonus chapter. In one a stone square must be rotated to locate symbols carved on all four sides. There is another in which three circles must be rotated to assemble the items to be removed. There are twenty-nine (29) puzzles. There are some which have multiple steps. The puzzles are superb; however, I am disappointed that none can be replayed. I am one who never replays HOP scenes; however, there are some puzzles from this game I would like to replay but the option is not available. The puzzles range from easy to middle difficulty. However, I found none which were challenging. Most of the puzzles are thematic as well. MECHANICS: • 5 levels of play including a customized version. • 11 achievements - some with 3 parts. • Collect 28 masks and 45 morphing objects • Collect 28 souvenirs within the scenes at the end of the game. • 9 wallpapers along with concept art, music and video sequences • Collect all collectibles to play a jigsaw puzzle at the end of the game • Replay 17 HOP scenes BONUS CHAPTER: It is a sequel. Play a character from the main game. At the bequest of Taleworld, you as Milton Harris, return to discover if there is another attempt by some evildoer to steal the Alltale Heart. This chapter will provide some surprises as to the culprit. It is a nice addition to the game. There are six (6) puzzles and five (5) HOP scenes. I found the HOP scenes very creatively designed. For me, this chapter is worthy of the collector’s edition designation. SPOILERS: Here are some of the puzzles after the demo: A. Hit the gremlin. Click on a sliding ball until it is centered to clobber a gremlin. 3X Ball increases in speed B. Assembly puzzle Click on 2 symbols which, when combined, create one of 4 symbols along the sides of a circular grid. 3x C. Rope puzzle. Untangle lines so none intersect with each other D. Escape puzzle. Use left and right arrows to maneuver an airship to a mountain avoiding the evildoer’s minions (gremlins). E. Maze puzzle. (1) Rotate tiles on a grid to create a path for a stone to travel from one end to its destination at the other end. (2) Slide tiles to create a path to lead the same stone from one end to the other. F. Slider puzzle.) Use sliders to maneuver a silhouette of an item over the actual item to remove it. Most developers employ this as a HOP scene. G. Switch puzzle. Switch gems on the top and bottom rows so that the combination of the 2 colors equals the color in the central row. H. On a grid locate 6 hidden flags within 11 moves. BONUS CHAPTER: I. Assembly puzzle. Create designs by placing dots into the proper position within a grid to create the design. 3X J. Assembly puzzle. Place pieces with heart and hat cutouts on a grid so that each piece is used and every square has a cutout on it. K. Spot the difference. Select the differences between two circles with symbols within them. 3X

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful game and worth playing I really liked the other Nevertales games and I enjoyed the beautiful graphics and details in this game again. I agree, the storyline is somewhat thinner than the Nevertale games before this, less time is taken to build up the story. The collectibles (masks) were not too hard to find, as were the morphing objects (just sometimes they were hard to miss). Puzzles had the right difficulty level too, most of the time. Looking forward to the next Nevertales.
