Barbarous: Tavern of Emyr is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 36.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally the game that has it all Yes, it is almost a replica of the first Delicious Emily games, so what?; this is what I was looking for - the old type of Emily's style games and not the new Emily's games that are ruined, boring and annoying. This is like Emily with Orcs. Story was funny and I had fun playing the game. I hope they will make the series of this game, and the developer does not follow Emily's suit and ruin it with stupid mini games. Yes, the game has its flows, it is not too hard, and could do more with decorating tavern or choices what to buy for Gwen's room but I hope the developer does not start changing the game and making it too modern; sometimes the game doesn't need any of this, sometimes people want to play the same way and this is almost like going back quite few years when I fell in love with Emily and her family. Now it's Emyr and his family. Yes, the story line and it's humour is not for the children. Good. I am an adult and I want to play games that are designed for adults not for children.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Didn't Want it to End! I check almost daily for another Delicious Emily or Primrose Lake and, while waiting for one/both of those to come out with something new, I usually play the trial of new TM's. This one hooked me! I usually hit the skip button to get thru the dialogue, but not with Barbarous: Tavern of Emry. I didn't hit skip once. The story was funny, cute (a couple of times more for adult ear/eyes), yet engaging and even had me lol'ing a couple of times. I did not want it to end. I hope there are sequels and, I hope, they keep it along the same lines as this one. I will be checking with fingers crossed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Addition to TMG Genre Absolutely LOVED this game and hope they develop it into a series! Game play is almost identical to the Delicious: Emily series (serve food/products, achieve certain goals, and find rats), but the fantasy story line - which I normally skip - is much more interesting, IMO. It also has an adult feel and there are a few curse words, but it was actually very comical. Music was excellent and fit the game theme perfectly. Visual quality is good - nothing spectacular, but I don't expect it to be on these types of games. Awards were all achievable throughout normal game play length, without glitches. It's also a plus that this was a standard edition! The only negative thing I can say is that the level load times were a little longer than I typically like, but completely tolerable and worth the wait.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Enjoying It Although I've only played the demo, I am enjoying this. As others have stated, it is more like the older Delicious games, which I love. Great graphics, good replay, unique storyline. Controls are responsive. No annoying mini-games requiring clicking yourself to death. Thank you!! I know some enjoy these, but my hands get really tired with too much of that. Each level does have a special goal. Don't see a place where you can upgrade skills though? Unless it comes with earning the trophies. You can decorate the "house" with diamonds, which is fun. Good for every level of player from beginner to advanced. It also has three levels of play to choose from. This is a purchase for me. Hope they make another one after it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it! There is adult humor. I really enjoyed the cute storyline, and I liked how the game got harder with progressing levels.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Delicious Little Twist I thoroughly enjoyed this game. Back to basics, clean, original, good 'ol fashion fun. Just the game level, the mouse, and the daily challenge. Hoping there are more like this coming soon!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big Fish We Want More of These! Does it steal a bit from other time management franchises? Yes. But is the storyline great? Yes! Is it just challenging enough? Yes! Is it not a Collectors Edition so I can actually use a game credit? Yes! Did it give me two solid days of play? Yes! One note is that I would caution parents not to let their young kids play due to some adult themes, but this was a joy to play. It kept me chuckling and like my title says: We want more games like this!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Entertaining time management game. I really enjoyed this game. Yes, it is like the Delicious games but I love most of those games and this one sucked me in to pass the time. It does have two cusswords in the script and has adult themes so I would not consider it for younger children. I played on the normal setting and it was pretty easy for me so assuming I play this game in the future, I will try for hard. You serve both food items and magical items. Instead of a mouse, you'll be looking for a red eyed rat. The mystical themes and the storyline, I found very interesting and even chuckled a couple of times at the humor. It was a purchase for me after playing for 30 minutes and I hope Big Fish has more TMG like this in the future. I do get easily bored but I was completely entertained with this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun and adorable I really liked this game. Yes the mechanics are just like the Delicious series, but I actually liked that. Usually I don't pay too much attention to the storyline I just hit the skip button, but this time I read the whole thing, and thoroughly enjoyed it. It has a really fun story and cute characters. Players of WOW or other role playing games will laugh at some of the dialog especially the part about having to kill thousands of kobolds.
