Adventures of Megara: Demeter's Cat-astrophe Collector's Edition is rated 2.6 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good purchase I read the reviews and played quickly to level 9 to see what the fuss was about, Yes the wizard appears to activate every few seconds but actually he activates when your helpers leave their hut, once you get a pattern rolling and don't send a worker when Megara is busy, he is not a problem. Music, graphics excellent, game play smooth and extra challenges for the experienced players. Worth the money and hope to see more of this character in the future!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definitely one for experienced players....or ones who love a challenge! Let me say firstly, I am not one who leaves many reviews, but having seen all the negative reviews for this game, I felt I needed to leave my review. I have loved all the Hercules games and was excited to see another one in the franchise after I finished Alexis Almighty. One thing to say upfront..this is NOT an easy time management game. There is a lot, and I mean A LOT, of strategy involved. I regularly play all TMs on expert/difficult level as I usually find them quite easy (except for the odd level) to complete within the 3 stars/ gold time frame. I completed the first 10 levels on difficult (with quite a few re-runs) but after level 10 it became a completely different kettle of fish. I had to resort to playing on normal cos, no matter how hard I tried, even using the strategy guide I couldn't complete the levels within 3 stars. Though I had to go down to 'normal' play - I have enjoyed playing this immensely, in fact I have completed the game twice now and am going back for a third run this time on difficult! I have read all the reviews and I will say this...the wizard is not as bad as everyone is saying - the key to him is to click as soon as he starts waving his arms - this only happens once your worker has left the tent - I found by lining up a number of tasks and then 'sitting' my cursor on him and therefore being able to click on him I was able to prevent him casting the spell that caught my workers - yes it took some time on some of the later levels to get this rhythm happening, but it all added to the challenge of the game. He does only appear 4 times (at the end of each block of 10 levels). I like the fact that you aren't just 'gifted' the puzzle piece, you have to get the 3 stars to be able to unlock the puzzle piece and therefore the bonus levels. Thank you developers for creating a TM game that really makes you think and strategize about your next move. If you want a TM game that really makes you think and plan then this is the one for you. If you prefer your TMs to be the run of the mill click and collect and be done easily within 3 stars then this is not the game for you. I highly recommend this game to anyone who wants a real challenge!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Step Aside, Hercules! Megara Is Coming What a lovely game! I like everything about it! The graphics are high quality, colorful and pleasing to the eyes. The plot is funny, fascinating and purr-fectly sweet. The music is beautiful and calm, sounds are not annoying, and “Meow” every time the kitten goes to fight ghosts is adorable. The gameplay is very similar to Hercules games but looks more creative, fresh and original. We still need to remove the obstacles, build the bridges, farms and workshops to go further. But also we have a great number of unique objectives, enemies and obstacles. It’s not just “clear the road” for hundred times. To open the gate or catch Amalthea we need the workers to stand the platforms. To defeat the Treebull we need the red fabric. This is very funny as well as fighting roots, moles and plants, waking up hydra etc. Even the food can look not only like boring cheese but haunted pumpkins, sliced fish, grapes inside the shells. Thanks to all these things I felt I play a brand new game with its own features, not just a common copy of my favorite games. The very first levels of the game are quite easy. But after there appear new obstacles and difficulties such as dark levels there we need to light the firepits, seabed levels with cursed shells that have to be de-spelled by the kitten, and of course the levels with the wizard catching the workers. This wizard was mentioned in several previous reviews, and I might say that at first he was a problem for me, too. But just at first. And just because I didn’t expect these traps. Actually, there are only 3 or 4 levels with wizard, and these levels require the special strategies and attention. I think that’s fine for the strategy game. The Collector’s Edition includes extra chapter, wallpapers and guide (text-and-picture guide, not blue arrows like in last Hercules games). Worth to buy for playing more levels and having more fun. I hope that “Adventures of Megara” will become a series of games. For now, I like it even more than Hercules games (sorry, Herc). I always thought that Megara is really interesting and heroic character deserving attention. And I’m really glad she got it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Persevere with this The first 5 levels of this game are not a good indication of the rest of it ,As soon as you get into level 6 the game changes for the good and it becomes a much different game. Just my opinion so persevere through the easy levels. Without giving too much away it becomes very challenging and you need to put your thinking cap on to defeat wizards etc. There are some unique things with this game but once you work it out you will be fine. Now there are a few things I am not happy about hence only 4 stars. I do not think it is worth the CE price as once again it is very confusing as to what you do get extra. Strategy guide is ok but could have been better. There are 50 levels plus 6 bonus levels which you get by getting 3 stars on all levels. It mentions that there is a bonus chapter but not sure if that is included in the 50 so you would get 40 in the SE ? This is not clear at all Now here is the big but for me. If you play on easy you do not get any stars or puzzle pieces .You need to play on normal or difficult to be able to earn 3 stars. So basically if you are someone whom only plays on the relaxed or easy level then you will not be able to play the bonus levels.. I may be missing something here so try the demo and see for yourself. Please go further than the first 5 levels. I do like the concept of this game but feel the things I have mentioned let it down. I do wish developers would make it a lot clearer what you actually get extra with a CE

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Eye Catching I would really like to enjoy this game more but you have to have 20/10 vision to see the the tasks and resources. I know that everyone is cannot be the same but appealing to all gamers regardless of the age should be the goal at this level of gaming. IT IS A GREAT GAME AND THEY REALLY WORKED TO MAKE THIS ONE DIFFERENT AND APPEALING.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Challenging! You cannot rate this on the first couple levels. This game, if played on the difficult level, has some strategy involved. You have to plan, so often the goals aren't going to be accomplished in one try. My only complaint is that you are immediately thrown into the action as opposed to looking at the level before starting.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok game, but.... This game is very similar in to the Hercules series (which I like much better, if I'm honest). The game is ok. The wizard is a pain because you have to click on him every few seconds so your workers don't get trapped. What I really hate is that you have to play in timed mode AND get three stars in order to get the puzzle pieces for the bonus levels, even if you find the pieces. I find that to be VASTLY annoying. It also starts getting a little buggy after you've been playing for a while, like it needs a break. Luckily, I had accumulated extra game credits, otherwise I don't think I'd buy this game as it is.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Timed mode and 3 stars needed to earn puzzle pieces!! I was very disappointed to discover that the game must be played in timed mode and 3 stars earned to get a puzzle piece even if you find it during play. I do not like playing in timed mode and so this game is not a buy for me. I do think it is cute and would have been fun to play if all the collector's bonus parts were accessible to those of us who prefer playing without time constraints.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Major defect in the game I agree with several of the others. While I was frustrated with the impossible difficulty of this game while trying to get 3 stars, the most aggravating issue in on level 28. After coming to a dead stop on the 3rd goat and attempting this over and over again (thinking I was missing something), I uninstalled the game 3 times only to come up with the same issue. We should not be charged for a collectors edition with a major issue on this. I also attempted to search the forums to see if this issue was noted out there or to see if there was a workaround and there wasn't anything regarding the game at all. I really like the Hercules games but this one left me wondering if the future games will be like this.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from So many Glitches One of the workers were "stuck" on a item for two levels. A goat on one level was left jumping a fairy dust so I could not complete the level. I looked all in the provided help section and restarted the level at least 3 times. With the lack of fun I haven't even felt like finishing the game and that never happens to me. I wouldn't waste your money unless you are just too tired of the games that you have. I guess they did not Beta test this one long enough to find the glitches.
