Hermes: Tricks of Thanatos Collector's Edition is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Much To Do I love these games. As far as I know there are 3 of these games before this one and I own them all. I also replay them. In fact I had started replaying one of them last night They are, to me, that good. 1-Rescue Mission 2-War of the Gods 3-Sibyls' Prophecy I always play the demo first because you never know but the demo convinced me to buy. There are three modes of play - Relaxed (untimed) Mode, Novice, or Expert Mode. Novice is a normal mode of play. There is always a lot to do and you need a strategy especially when deciding what buildings to upgrade, sometimes all of them but in what order will do you the most good. This one has a new twist as we are trying to round up lost souls that have escaped from Hades by Charon’s boat but where is the boat? We must find it to keep any more souls from coming over. Meanwhile the souls that crossed are causing, as usual, havoc. There are bonuses that you can pick up along the way, run faster and work harder. They refill over time. There are also barrels which hold extra supplies if you can find them and click on them. To me each level is different and it is hard to stop playing. I do not think you will be disappointed in purchasing this game. I bought it as soon as I finished the demo.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A challenge that just gets more challenging I always look forward to the Hermes games and for me , this one does not disappoint. This is very similar but there are enough differences added to keep me amused and the challenge is there. Added things include souls that keep morphing which you need to get to finish the level so keep an eye out for these plus Orpheus will play his harp and distract workers until you release them. For me this is a delightful game which at the moment I am in relaxed but will up the challenge later, Unfortunately you can't change the modes during the same game so you have to start afresh for each mode. For the upgrades you need to visit the Elysium which is the same as the previous Acropolis. The upgrades now load very quickly so the upgrades take effect almost straight away wheras before they took forever. All in this is a wonderful game and although only 15 extra levels instead of 20 this time I feel it is well worth the CE price. Try the demo and see what you think but for me it is ideal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Classic TM fun...a few new features This is a fabulous series! And this one continues it's good reputation. It is a very classic gather, banish, upgrade, demolish type TM...but very user friendly, moves smoothly, and mixes the tasks up continually. It has three modes, novice, expert and relax and it has a both numbered and written strategy guide. You get some bonuses to improve and speed things up from earning points as you play the levels that build a city of the gods and give you these. (you dont need to stay there while they build, you can go back to the game..but they are a bit quicker in this one anyway) One new introduction however on the onscreen bar bonus was some of the new characters. 'Lost souls' who can keep it powered up. These are also sometimes part of the level goal. (I had to repeat an early level not from game play, but because I could not see one of them!) They appear briefly, then disappear ..and you must click on them when you see them or you will be waiting for the to reappear for a bit. They are fairly hidden and blend into the scenery. I also received deliveries from Olympus via a chariot that dropped well needed resources on some levels too. And I must not forget the 'devourer' who sat on my olive grove eating my stock until I got the store up and bought what was needed to banish the blighter! lol. There are a lot of familiar features from other episodes...building alters, asking the gods for help with a general task list. But it's a really feel good game. Starts of so easy...then ramps up quickly. Is it worth the CE? There are 50 regular levels and 15 bonus levels, collectables, the strategy guide, wallpapers and soundtrack. So yes, I think it passes the test. But as a TM tragic I find this one of my favourite to play and would never pass it over. Bright graphics..good storyline (you can skip if you want)..and just a totally enjoyable mix of strategy and fun. Enjoy!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from yellow tutorial font! Again a funny story and good execution, not TOO challenging IMO (which I like, but also played on relaxed), but! the yellow font for the tutorial on a light green background is a HORROR! (do the devs have 120% eyesight?!) yes, can be turned off, but I am always curious. Alas, almost unreadable; had to move the screen closer and got so annoyed that I left the demo - Note: a hidden object to be found starting from lvl 2, and cannot be found separately, i.e. without playing the level completely.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Where Did The Challenge Go? This feels like it was cobbled together and rushed out to market, without including the things that made the previous versions so fun. The levels are super simplistic, really short, and don't get better or more interesting as you go along. It's just way too easy. Kids may like it. But I wish I had skipped this one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Think this game is perfect for children The game, with the graphics and what needs to be done, is more for children. Story is simple, graphics are simple. I love Roads of Rome, I almost all of the 12 labours of Hercules, Incredible Dracula, all the Moai series, New Yankee series, My kingdom for a princess and more. I truly miss coming on here and having fun games like those. Not just running around picking stuff up in the road and using it to finish the game. But having to find the right way to do things, having buildings that you build to put out resources. Seems like a lot of these more adult type games are just not being created anymore. And I don't have a child in the house, so I have no need for games made to appeal to children.
