Customer Reviews
Spellarium 7 is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from These are always superior games Like some other reviewers I have become somewhat dismayed by the lack or quality and diversity of games offered on BF over the past couple of years. But, just when you think the boat is about to sink for the final time, up pops Spellarium. This and the similar games are among the best offered by BF. They never disappoint. How this developer manages to keep some of the familiar and always add new elements and challenges is definitely amazing. Every time I ask myself "What can they possibly add this time to keep it fun and interesting? But, somehow they always do - without fail. The mini-games are fun, too - even the mahjong and I don't normally like mahjong. I noticed one reviewer disparaging the fire that you have to spread over the board. The fires used to drive me nuts, too, in the earlier games in this series. But, I finally discovered how to do that and still enjoy the game. To me, the secret of spreading the fire is to do it by using explosions to spread it. Sometimes it still frustrates me that there are "lanes" that the fire will not pass over, but I love these games so much that I just hunker down and try harder. The thing that would drive me a bit batty has been the horseshoes. Those have been my frustration generators. But I would just keep going until I got rid of them on the board. I'd rather have a bit of frustration than a game that is so easy that it's boring and hum-drum. I want to exercise my brain cells, not put them to sleep. Others have gone into much detail, so I won't repeat that here. As I've said before about this type of game, my only problem is that I find it nearly impossible to stop playing them. I get hungry, but I won't stop long enough to eat sometimes - I need to lose 10 pounds anyway. I stay up too late into the night because I want to play "just one more level." I think there is a learning curve to these games, but the helpful guide is just that - helpful. Read it and read the reviews that explain some things. So thankful for a high quality game just in time for the weekend!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another Great One There is nothing disappointing with this game. I like the challenge and yes...I did have to do a replay on some stages but eventually I would get it the second or third time through. I like the changes. Keep bringing out this series. I have bought each and every one of them. Very enjoyable!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Do we want more? Of course we do I have a lot of admiration for this developer for one main reason, but there are others. They Listen. Reviews can help folks deciding if a game is worth a look but they are also a great way for Dev's to look and see if they can improve a game. Of course some you can advise till the cows come home and they will not listen but this Dev cares and it shows. Same music as Laruaville but I can live with that, In this game there are a few subtle changes, nothing drastic but all the levels as per usual are different and the further in you get the challenge increases. This time we have color tiles added which need to be removed to complete the game and to allow keys and other objects to pass. I was a bit confused at first as to why they did not always clear until I realised you need to use tiles of the same color to clear them. This for me adds a new dimension to the game. Another addition is the Colb which is filled with tiles and you match via the hole in the colb.Once emptied it vanishes. I also noticed that the rockets now drop when you clear underneath which is another good feature. I have a suggestion for the Devs as I find this annoying but that is just me and others will be ok with it. With this type of game I feel it is important to get as much out of the demo as you can as because this is a well known series its good to get in as far as possible. I do like playing the mini games but I have to skip the early ones in order to get as far in to the match 3 in the demo, It is a shame I have to skip them, ok for those who are not that in to the mini games or indeed those who are happy to just buy. I wonder if there is some way to return to those mini games or bring on the mini games after the hour demo. These games do take up a lot of valuable demo time. This is such a great game many will be content to just buy anyway but I have come unstuck before so always demo to the end. Another thing which may be just me . Usually I have to disarm the hints as they are always coming up. I noticed that the hints are not popping up even when you have it selected ? Never had this on previous games. I have tried it with or with out and there seems no difference at all. As I say maybe just my set up ? Overall this is an amazing game and you really need to think the further in you get. Take care all and happy gaming.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Blast of a Game Loving it! Things I like: The tubes, you can break rocks and red blocks with matches, rockets move down with matches. Things I don't like You can't blow up colored tiles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All I can say is...YES! What more can I say than it's Spellarium! Immediate buy...immediate play. I've got them all so far so this was a no-brainer. You cannot...I repeat CANNOT...go wrong with this game. Hours, days, weeks, months of play. If you've never played this series before, may I suggest you start with original Spellarium and work your way up...there are 6 before this one!! Happy gaming!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still makes me smile while I play This game gets 5 stars because it passes the smile test, and just the right amount of heart pumping without being stressful to play. There is not much here we haven't seen before other than new tiles (and many familiar)..there are colour pillows that you must get the tile of that colour matched over them to remove, there are bonus rockets and dynamite for large matches, but the one thing that I was not used to is being able to remove the large rocks and blockages without having to use an explosive match. Simply matching beside them slowly removes them. But don't think the large match devices are not used...in fact sometimes they are the only way to collect other special tiles that you cannot match together, and of course they are the way to remove those darn lady bugs! The levels all take some thinking about..and sometimes I did actually get stumped until I realised that I may have to go back and repeat some areas I thought I had already dealt with. So there's fire spread, with gaps you cannot jump across from, there are levels requiring a certain amount of a tile to remove a blockage, cannons and all the bells and whistles this series comes with. What I particularly like is the level of challenge.. A bit of a 'goldilocks' in this family of games. Not too hard, not too easy...just right. But there is a relax and a limited moves option too if you don't like timed. The mini games I usually skip...but they are loved by many I know..there is solitaire, mahjong, spot the difference and hidden object. So nothing new..but it does feel like it is with new layouts...and simply a really good quality, fun M3. Enjoy

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We Can Always Rely On Spellarium For Quality And Fun 5 well-deserved stars every time. I love this series. Graphics are great. The boards are unique and contain colorful tiles, fire and other obstacles, and ladybugs that keep the game interesting. The layouts and music are similar to Laruaville but the game is still different and the story always changes. I love the various challenges and a game requiring strategy is all the more fun. This one is a great relief from the usual Match 3 fare that bores us to death. I play just the Spot the Difference and Hidden Object mini-games as they aren't so quick and easy. The story is always an important mission that Eric needs to accomplish and I always enjoy the building project that is included. This is a wonderful Match 3 game as far as I'm concerned. It is colorful, has fun features, several difficulty options, a story that adds extra interest, hints to rescue you from a tough spot, easy to understand instructions and I've never run into any tech issues. I own all the Spellarium games and appreciate the quality we get from this developer, it never falters. Another thing I love is that Spellarium changes up a little with each new game and we aren't bombarded with them all the time. I really am excited when I see a new one has finally arrived!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another great Spellarium!! I have everyone of these and must admit I like them all; some are probably better than others but I don't care. I have been waiting for something to keep me happy and amused and this does it; I am also a fan of the Laruaville series and Jewel match games. Bring them on!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another winner from this developer If you're a regular player of the Spellarium games, don't even bother with the trial period. I did, but it didn't take long to see that the developer had found even more ways to test your mettle at solving puzzles. What a FUN and exciting new Spellarium.
