PictoQuest is rated 2.2 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from What actual Japanese RPG nonograms would be like This appears to be originally Japanese in nature, with the non-language speech but English subtitles allowing for easy universal translation. This is nonograms RPG style (nongrams originate from the 1980's Japan so very fitting) with anime characters and styling. The puzzles (at least from what small amount I have played so far) are small and easy, but there are twists as you progress. You are battling monsters and opening chests. Each completed row/column counts as a strike to the monster. You have a health meter. Miss, and the monster attacks you. There are sidequests with twists such as time limits, and shops to trade your wears such as health potions and upgrades. The puzzles, while easy, become challenging as you are rushed to find the answer before being attacked or solve a row/column to receive an item you can use or sell in the store. Instead of simple "here's your next puzzle", you have a path to follow. Although linear, this path has warp towers and side characters with quests. This is an excellent marriage of anime RPG and nonograms.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from kind of liked it I basically like the premise of this game. Solving each puzzle to advance to the next area. The kiddish characters are silly but didn't bother me. What I didn't care for was the monster action while working the puzzle or the very short time limit to resolve a puzzle to beat a monster. What really turned me off, tho, was the 'shop'. I couldn't figure out what to do get the freebie or to purchase anything. The mechanics didn't make any sense to me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Another Disaster This is yet another disaster. A grid with graphics that seem to be from another planet. Impossible to make out what the pictures are supposed to be. I'm beginning to ask myself, in which archive, loft or basement BFG is finding the games that they have been offering over the last couple of years. Very disappointing and my disappointment is increasing on a daily rate.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pathetic Little Game! Everything about it is juvenile, the little cartoony characters are goofy looking to the point of being irritating. The two heroes are straight out of a pre-school book. There is not one iota of anything that I feel an adult can enjoy in this game. The pictures are extremely small, the basic nonogram style, and good luck at trying to guess what they are without the label to identify them. The demo was utterly boring and non-challenging. Why is BFG so fond of scraping the bottom of the barrel? Quality games, once the norm on this site, have sadly become a rarity!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Boring I found this game boring. Maybe good for young kids.
