Travel To Brazil is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dorky Humans - Best Music - Great Fun This "Travel To..." series, despite the dorky humans, is consistently an enjoyable delight. AND has the BEST music. Okay, okay, I'm a fan of Latin music, but this one, as well as Travel to Spain, has terrific music, engaging artwork/graphics and surprisingly, challenging hidden object play.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from THE HUDSON'S SURE GET AROUND! (do the ever work?) Have you ever wondered about the characters in a game series? I've always wondered why the developers portrayed the parents to look so old, heck, until a few games ago I thought the mom and dad were the grandparents! I've also wondered if any of the Hudson family members actually work? If they do work they must get a ton of vacation days because they are constantly traveling across the globe. Judging by the house, they don't appear to be millionaires, Jennifer's boyfriend Mark could be a rich cowboy but he just recently joined the travel-lovin' Hudsons' so I don't think he's footing the jet-setting bill? While I'm on the subject, why don't they ever fly solo? You'd think Jennifer and Mark would like to vacation without mom & dad tagging along, at least once in a while...surely, Mark would like to ditch Jenny's parents by now, it's not like he has to make a good first impression at this point. Doesn't Mark have parents, or are his parent's homebodies that don't share his passion for travel? BTW: does Mark ever plan on popping the question? Maybe they should book a flight to Vegas for an Elvis Wedding! Travel to Brazil doesn't have any new features, but they did add a couple of new HO variants a few games back, such as Mirror Reflections where the words are mirrored as well as the screen (as it would be reading the word "ambulance" in a rearview mirror), and Spot the Difference. I've always enjoyed "spot the differences" but I hate it when the only "differences" are added or missing objects versus subtle changes to the scenery, which isn't the case here. When all you have to do is "spot" huge objects that have been added to one of the side-by-side scenes, there's absolutely no challenge making this variant nothing more than a time-waster. One of the biggest reasons I don't feel the need to purchase new games in this series lately is because the items never change position when you replay the levels. Replaying levels is a requirement in this game in order to earn the necessary stars which unlock the next level in order to progress, therefore, it becomes monotonous and boring pretty quickly. Sometimes they throw in a few new objects to the mix of the repeated scenes, but all of the objects remain exactly where they were located in the previous scene, in the same exact position! You can choose from 3 different difficulty modes, a Relaxed Untimed Mode, a 10-Minute Timed Mode, or a 3-Minute Timed Mode. You will earn a single star on each HO location and the next location requires 1-3 stars to unlock it which means you'll have to replay the scene in a different HO mode. The Hidden Object Modes change each time you replay a scene, between Listed Item, Silhouetted Shapes, Scrambled Letter Modes, and the two newer variants, Mirror Reflection and Spot the Differences. Because the objects themselves never move, you can basically guess at the objects by the time you roll around to the silhouetted shapes, and scrambled letters and get 99% of them right! Each scene has a Lazy Turtle to discover (once you find him he won't appear in the other HO modes) to earn 500 extra points, but there's nothing to purchase with these extra points so what's the point? There are trivia facts before visiting each location as well, but I STILL think the developers need to use their Lazy Turtle Logo versus the cheap plastic turtle because this developer's Lazy Turtle Logo is one of the coolest logos I've ever seen. He's an adorable "lazy" turtle wearing a sombrero and leaning up against a palm tree. If they used a semi-transparent image of this logo and hid it in each scene it would be much more challenging to spot and much more fun. The Hudson Family's trip locations include: ~Santa Teresa, Rio de Janeiro ~Corcovado Mountain, Rio de Janeiro ~The Sugarloaf Cable Car, Rio de Janeiro ~The Carnival, Rio de Janeiro ~Copacabana Beach, Rio de Janeiro ~Lapa District, Rio de Janeiro ~Mangus, The Amazonas Theatre ~Brasilia ~Campos do Jordao ~Iquazu Falls, Parana ~Salvador, Bahia ~Thesao Paulo Metropolitan Cathedral ~Amazon Cruise ~Botanical Garden of Curitiba Parana ~Recife, Pernambuco Mini-Games Available: ~Jigsaw ~SoccerSolitaire ~Travel Cards (Matching Card Pairs) ~Amazon Animals (Restore picture puzzle) ~Cities of Brazil (Word Search) It would be nice if the objects moved around when you revisited the scenes in a different Hidden Object Mode and it would be way more fun if the objects were blended into the scenery and were downsized a bit so they weren't so big/obvious. Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lack of Clues? How is one supposed to find items they don't tell you to find? Consistently, it says you have two more items to find but don't tell you what they are. If any of you can help, thank you.
