A Tale for Anna is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unordinary HO Fun and one looks continuously for items in the environment rather than HO scenes. Also look for optional puzzle pieces to solve small jigsaws and learn more about the story. Contains many various puzzles with a couple I label as difficult.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Liked It! At first I thought this was a children's game. But as I got into it I found it to be quite difficult at times. Many of the hidden items were extremely difficult to find, and some of the mini games took quite a while to solve. I even skipped a couple because I became so frustrated. A good game! Very long too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Wonderful Game I was drawn into this game from the very beginning. I loved the storyline but thought at first "this is for children" but it wasn't. Quite a difficult game but just had to keep going. I was completely enthralled with it and just had to keep playing. Like the games of a while ago really enjoyable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from And Now For Something Completely Different The heading says it all....this game is somewhat along the same lines as My Brother Rabbit...so enjoy, because it really is different!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb! I love playing this game. The graphics are excellent quality, colorful and whimsical. I used many hints while I progressed through the game. Once I got the hang of how to find the blue feathers which are accumulated as you go about the various scenes, I was easily and rather quickly able to gather the required '5' at a time, in order to receive a hint. Gaining this knowledge made the game flow along much more smoothly and enjoyably. It is heartening to learn that the developer dedicated the game to his daughter. Very sweet. Overall, I found the game play to be challenging but also fun, and original. I loved the characters, especially Anna and her beloved feline companion. Well done developers. Thank you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Anna was great Good HO game. Lots of different angles for finding objects instead of a jumbled graphic you search. Excellent story and challenges to boot. Played it a couple times.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun for Old & Young Loved this game. Similar to Brother Rabbit. Nice change of pace. Great fun for me and different from the usual games. Good fun for kids too, not overly difficult and hints easy to accumulate. Would recommend to anyone wanting a pleasant diversion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun Hidden Object Adventure [Based on Demo] Explore the scenes to find a problem (which triggers the items you need to collect to solve the issue and progress). For example, you can't collect the fish food until you click on the fishbowl to discover you have to feed the fish to get him to come out. Some items are obvious; others take a little "eye spy". I like that if you click on an item in the inventory a small picture displays to remind you where that item (once all the pieces are collected) will be used. There are also "bonus" puzzle pieces to find which activate jigsaw puzzles that fill in the back story. Of course, you can't start collecting the puzzle pieces until you get a little ways into the game to find the book they go in. Collect blue leaves to "recharge" the hint. The hint only drains if you used it in the scene where there is something to do (if it just directs you to move to another scene, it does not drain/ need to be recharged). I only had to use it once when I had a little trouble locating one of the rings. I also like that the programmers were thoughtful enough that the blue hint leaves are only available to find if you need them (i.e. when your hint is full, there are no more blue hint leaves to find). The graphics are clear and the navigation is easy. The music is simple, but appropriate. The cut scene/ text is just enough to explain the story, but not so much that I felt like I was clicking through trying to get back to the game play. There are puzzles are sprinkled through the game which I found fun (medium difficulty, but can be skipped after a bit if desired). I came across 4 puzzles in the demo. They were twists on familar favorites with themes that matched the scene/ storyline. I personally like adventure games where you explore and figure out what you need to progress so this one is right up my alley. :) If you're looking for something off the beaten path, I recommend trying this one. Happy Gaming!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Delightful Adventure Game A lovely game about Anna and her devoted cat named Tail. The queen is determined to steal Anna's magic to create a world of darkness. Anna and Tail will not let that happen! The good vs evil storyline takes them into a realm of enchantment on their quest to defeat the queen before she can destroy the beauty and peace of the world around her. It's an adventure filled with love and hope and humor. The characters and locations are very colorful and each scene is full of things to examine while looking for the items you need. The objects are very small and well hidden so the challenge is definitely there. There were also numerous puzzle pieces scattered about, they were not obvious. I don't know if they will be included in the SE. The graphics are so beautiful and the colors are wonderfully suited to this storybook tale. It was fun just looking at everything along the way. The game is pretty basic with no hand-holding to quickly come to the rescue. The Hint feature is a 5-petal flower, when used the petals scatter and have to be found in order to recharge the Hint. They end up in several of the locations so you will be dealing with lots of back and forth which many of us don't like. But it really didn't seem tedious in this game. I had no trouble finding the petals, they sparkle a little, making them easy to spot. The game was slow for me, only because the items were small and I was pretty much on my own with minimal assistance. Hovering your mouse over an item can provide clues other than the Hint. I just had to learn the ins and outs as I progressed but it wasn't difficult to catch on. I really love that this game is one that an adult can enjoy. I felt that a child might struggle without help from a parent. It's a very cute story with lots of cute visuals, but more suited for adults, especially with the challenge and minimal help. I absolutely loved it. I purchased the CE knowing I should have waited for the SE. There's no strategy guide and collectibles are the puzzle pieces. So that means that the SE will be perfectly fine, all the fun still in tact. Adventure games are sometimes hard to navigate, at least for me. But this one isn't complex. Posed no problems, no frustration, no boredom. Just a sweet story made for Anna with lots of love. It's a little different than most and may not appeal to all who love adventure games. A good idea to check out the demo for this one. Hope you enjoy!
