Rooms: The Toymaker's Mansion is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from SHOULD I GO RIGHT, LEFT, UP, OR DOWN? This is a puzzle adventure about a Toymaker who has a secret, one he dare not share with anyone, a secret full of magic, and of course mystery. Nobody knows what happened to the Toymaker, or his Mansion for that matter, because they both vanished into thin air. Today is different however because a young girl named Anne has found the vanishing mansion, or perhaps the mansion found Anne, after all, the mansion has been waiting for Anne for a very long time... This is a mechanical type puzzle game, there are 4 different mansion themes, and the goal is to make it through each of the 20 rooms per mansion within the allotted number of moves to earn up to three gears or "stars" Each room has several sections that are in the wrong place, sections that are Black and White are in the wrong place, sections in color are correctly placed. Each section has four sides obviously, but each section has different available sides that can be accessed, for example, the left side may be open but the other three sides are closed, so you need to slide unblocked sections, left, right, up, or down until you are able to enter the next section as you try to make it to the section with the door. Some sections have ladders or stairs, some sections contain a key that opens the door to the next room. Most rooms have at least one Teleporting Phone (as you progress, more phones are available in specific color codes) this phone allows you to teleport to the section that contains the same colored phone, without having to move sections or slide sections. Thankfully, you can replay the levels as often as you want to solve the puzzle within the expert score or allotted number of moves. The graphics are really good, the tutorial is excellent and the levels progress in difficulty at a nice pace. There are 21 Achievements to earn, 12 Illustrations, and there are Basement Levels available for experienced or advanced players, that are very challenging. The Basement levels have cell phones to collect that allow you to teleport to any color of phone, however, if you teleport to another section and have no extra cellphones, you will be stuck and won't be able to progress, so you'll have to start over. Very entertaining game for puzzle geeks. Come join me at The Woods forum, you're gonna love it! thewoodforum.boards.net

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Return of an Old Friend After an absence of nearly 6 years this wonderful game is back with a new selection of brain stretching torment but I so love it. This game follows on from the unsolveable puzzle which in the end I did solve but it took such a long time . Others can explain in more detail than me but the general object is to get out of the mansion by sliding rooms and using telephones to transport yourself. Sounds easy ? It's not apart from the first few levels and then the fun starts. I am unable to play the original game so missed out on that one but the next one I have played many times and it is still a challenge. This one even more so . You can replay the levels as many times as you like so you can try to get the 3 gear segments for each level. You can get by with just one gear segment but while it is fresh in your mind it might be an idea to go for the 3 segments on each level. I just know it will get incredibly challenging and for even more challenge you can take on the basement. If you are a puzzle fanatic like me you will love this. It is not going to suit everyone though but for me it is right up my street, or should I say mansion. As always try the demo and see what you think

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A rose by any other name... THIS GAME WAS ALREADY RELEASED UNDER A DIFFERENT NAME. I thought Rooms: the Toymaker's Mansion would be a sequel to Rooms: The Unsolvable Puzzle. It's NOT. It seemed so familiar that I grabbed screenshots from a random level on both (level 10). There's some minor graphics tweaking and a caption on one, but it's exactly THE SAME PUZZLE as the one I bought from Big Fish in 2016. If you didn't buy it under the previous name, then by all means, get this game. It's an excellent puzzle game. But shame on Big Fish for pretending it's new.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loads of fun! So that´s a nice surprise... It´s a wonderful brainteaser that looks great and has fun effects and music. Apparently there is a story in there somewhere about a toymaker, but playing the demo it didn´t seem essential, just a nice extra on the side. In each level you need to get to the door by sliding around parts of the mansion. Usually you have ladders and teleporters to cross between the rooms. That starts easy enough, but already in level 6 I got stuck longer than I wanted to. I made it to level 15 or so before I bought it. You get between 1 and 3 gear pieces as a reward for each level - and if you only collect one, you also get a snarky remark from your helper the lamp - something like "Not bad, but you could´ve done better". Which you can because you can replay the levels. Those gear pieces add up to trophies and to open other mansions like in any other level based game. Now, this just might wear thin or become repetitive after a while, but until then it´s heaps of fun... just don´t start playing if you have some work to do... ;-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A beautiful and fun puzzle game Absolutely gorgeous graphics highlight this well designed puzzle game. Progression from level to level is is fair and well planned. The emphasis is on fun and thinking, not on overwhelming you with gimmicks and trickery. Highly recommended if you like a fun puzzle game that is relaxing ... but also also makes you learn and think.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 2016 REDO!!! :( I have the Rooms: Unsolvable puzzle..... done in 2016. A few new graphic tweeks, , but compare some levels and guess what!!! YUPPERS, same Level as old one... so if you didn't already buy that one than yes... buy this.... if you already have and did the 2016 one... save your cash! :) Bigfish allowing an old game that they didn't at least say it was a REDONE version. Like the one that just came out that is redone. Because of I guess Covid seems games are just pulling from the old archive and giving a brush up.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Shame on Big Fish for selling a remake as a new game This is a remake of the last game, Rooms: The Unsolved Puzzle. Not even a remake, really. The story and the levels are the exact same - the only difference is that the graphics are slightly cleaner. Shame on you, Big Fish, for hiding the fact that you already sold this same game to us 5 years ago. If I hadn't remembered the story so well, I may have thought it was a new game in the series, and paid again for the exact same game that I already own. This is a horrible way to treat your loyal customers. It's one thing to release a remake that you clearly state is a remake, and let us decide if it's worth the money to us. It's another thing to change the name of an existing game, superficially update it, and try to trick us into giving you money for nothing. The game itself is good, so I'm sorry to give it such a low rating, but I want to make sure people are aware of the underhanded behaviour by Big Fish Games here.
