Athena, goddess of warfare and wisdom, was one of the most beloved and revered goddesses of the ancient Greeks. They prayed to her, brought gifts, and built temples. Even the capital of Greece bears her name.

To attract tourists, the island's authorities have enlisted you to restore the temple and its surrounding area just as the ancient builders would have. Rated 5 out of 5 by from I LOVE A GOOD CHALLENGE REVIEW OF COMPLETED GAME I really loved this game. The challenge is great, the tiles are gorgeous and you can still carry on playing while the tiles fall. There are Timed, Limited Moves and Relaxed modes of play. I played on Timed this time round and will play Limited Moves next time I play this game. There are 120 levels. I finished building the Temple at Level 107, so the rest of the game is all about finishing the levels. There is plenty to keep you busy throughout the game. The boards are massive, so you have to be fast. I found the timer a bit stingy but you can accumulate extra time, bombs, etc by matching 5 or more tiles. Believe me, these come in handy. The last few levels are pretty intense. I managed to do all of them within the time specified, but when I came to Level 120 it was just too hard. I must have played that level a dozen times but just couldn't complete it without running out of time. So I had to change to Relaxed to finish it. This was due to the spider webs covering the tiles and, because the board was very tight, it was hard to match tiles to get rid of them. However, don't let that put you off - it really is a terrific game. So thank you devs for a terrific game. I'm now off to buy Ancient Jewels: Babylon, which I haven't played before. Definitely comes recommended. Happy playing fishies.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not the same as previous game Ancient Jewels: Babylon I almost didn't try this game because a couple of people said it was identical to Ancient Jewels Babylon - which I loved - but I figured it was worth a 15-minute trial to see if it is really the same. It is very similar in concept but the visuals and the sound are a bit better and there are some additional obstacles, like getting a key to open up the board and releasing the gold bars (the spiders are back, though!). So, they kept the great things, like the very smooth and fast action, the fact that you can make a move while the tiles are still falling, and the different bonuses you get for different combinations of tiles, plus they added some improvements - thus, NOT identical. If you loved the first one you will love this one even more. And if you didn't play the first one but you like M3 games, give this a try.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SOMETIMES SAME OL' SAME OL' IS PERFECT :D I read the reviews that point out that there is no difference between this episode and the previous one. However, unlike nothing-new Hidden Object Adventure games (HOPA's), I truly enjoy "building" Match3's that are repeats with a different theme. The jewels are sparkly and very pretty, the little glass chime sounds are delightful, the colors are bright and chirpy, and the background for the tiles that have to be cleared is a good contrast - even if the sun is shining on your screen. The challenges are just right to require your focus in a fun and relaxing way, even on the levels where they throw all sorts of requirements at you. (Love gathering the tiny diamonds) As another reviewer pointed out, you don't have to wait through the display of an annoying bunch of bells and whistles and record of accumulated purchase power or point scores before moving to the next level - just click on the display to instantly move on. This is one you can pull off the shelf and play again and again, so give it a test drive and enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great game I was surprised to see this game offered. I made my day! I love just about everything about this game. It's colourful, it offers moves, time or relaxed. And it's challenging. It gives you just enough moves that you really have to think about your next move. One of my favourite match 3's. If you have not tried it, do so. I think you will like it if you are a fan of Match 3's.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great Little Time Waster Okay, so it's basically the same-old-same-old as most Match-3/Build a City game. BUT this one did one thing better than any of the other I've played: The time between levels! Usually there is fanfare and you have to wait for a screen telling you how much you earned, etc. I always hated that waiting. This one doesn't! You can click to advance right away. Between that and being able to play in Relax Mode, this one is a winner in my book! Give it a try!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Challenging Match 3 I enjoyed Ancient Jewels: Babylon so thought I'd give The Temple of Athena a try. I really liked it and jewel games always attract my attention, I love the tinkling sounds and the bright colors. The music in today's game is pleasant with pieces from 4 different tunes that don't distract your concentration. Graphics are crystal clear and beautiful with basic art style. The very colorful gems brighten up the boards and are of good size. Some Match 3 games have small, dull colored tiles that don't give me that nice visual I always seek. Considering 120 levels and the challenges that arise, it should be a nice long game. The demo was a good example of what you'll find along the way. There are simple instructions, a tutorial that explains the function of the power-ups as they are earned and a score board after each level that shows your achievements. The tutorial can be turned off but I found it quite useful in the beginning. There are Relaxed. Timed and Limited Moves modes. I used Relaxed for most of the demo but always prefer Moves. You cannot change the modes while playing and must return to the Main Menu when you want to switch, but I think that's the case in all Match 3 games anyway. As the game progresses and the challenges increase I found that Limited Moves became more difficult than expected. That was good though, as I had to rely more on my strategy skills to win the level. Love strategy! The game definitely isn't as easy as it first appears, requiring some replays and frustration. Each level has different tasks, the goal is to find a required number of blocks or other items under the tiles. There are lots of obstacles to remove and lots of fun power-ups to get the job done. As the game progresses the number of items to remove increases and, of course, more time is involved. Therefore, the Relaxed Mode, for me, was more doable than the Limited Moves as I got deeper into the game. The demo ended at level 10. I really had fun and got to do some restoring, too. The purchases for restoring the temple and grounds are pricey, but earning the required $$ wasn't a slow process as in other rebuilding games I have played. I love picking what I want to purchase and watching the project come together. As usual, I'm always wishing for more of it in the game. Not just one building and not restoring only the immediate area. Had a good time with this game and will add it to my Match 3 collection. We don't get many quality ones these days. I am currently playing my Jewel Match 3s to death which contain all the things that satisfy my entertainment needs in this genre. As much as I love JM, it is always nice to find something else to mix it up a little. Sometimes even the best isn't good enough and variety is the missing ingredient that keeps the fun and interest flowing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nothing New Just Okay Game is just so, so. Nothing new here. After the demo I had had enough. When you play the timed mode they never give enough time so you play the same level over and over and it is just plain matching. I know it is a match 3 game but as someone else mentioned they could be more inventive like the Jewel Match series or an older game Imperial Island 3 (4 is okay and 5 started going down hill). So my recommendation is to spend your money on a match 3 game by Jewel Match Royal 2 or 5 year old game called Imperial Island 3. Both are a lot more fun and offer more entertainment for the money.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Play Board IDENTICAL to EARLIER BABYLON What is the difference, if any, between this and their earlier Babylon? If anyone knows, please enter in a review. The game boards and play that I quick checked so far are IDENTICAL. I stopped playing that at Level 39, as each level getting more and more blocking tiles making it extremely hard to make any matches. And, single hammer powerup on Babylon one took forever to charge, cursor very slow to react.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A virtual clone to the previous game If you have never played the first game then this is a good buy however the boards are virtualy identical to the previous game which I have already bought and really do not want the same game twice. It could have been made so much better with a few differences . I never did complete the first game as it became so frustrating and very difficult to progress towards the end I just found it no longer attractive but that is just me. Try the demo and see what you think but bear in mind it is very alike the first game.
