1001 Jigsaw Earth Chronicles 9 is rated 2.0 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from 1001 Jigsaw Earth Chronicles 9 I enjoy playing games through this developer but I had a few issues with this game because the colours weren't right for example the rock was blue instead of brown and this was my only issue of the game I enjoyed playing the rest of the series

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Image choice MUCH better The previous iterations of this game were hampered by the atrocious selection of images. The puzzles have the ability to modify (change the number of pieces and change the shape of them), allows you to add "rotate pieces" to make solving more challenging, a tray to help with sorting, and allows you to work with the border pieces before tackling the inner puzzle. These features, along with ghost image, save, and show completed image, make the game itself potentially fun, unless the images are so unimaginative and boring, as was the case with previous versions. BUT I really liked the selection of pictures in THIS version, and that is why I FINALLY give it a great review.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from GIVING IT AN EXTRA STAR BECAUSE THERE ARE SOME BEAUTIFUL LANDSCAPES & FEWER STAGED PICTURES! I have to give credit when credit is due because for the first time they have ditched the staged pictures and added some beautiful landscape pictures. BUT...once again, the features remain the same, and these are basic features that only a casual puzzle player will enjoy. There are Achievement Trophies to earn and a Top Scores leaderboard but there is no option to access any of these features to know what achievements you are striving to achieve. You can save your puzzle progress but you can't save the completed puzzle image or download the image as a screensaver, which makes no sense? There is a box to store extra pieces, but there are no options to categorize, label, or sort these stored pieces, nor is there an option to fetch or retrieve certain pieces because you can't sort and label these stored pieces. The current sort option simply scrambles the pieces to the correct area, such as the top, bottom, right, or left side which practically feels like you're cheating. Wouldn't it be nice to have the ability to sort them by the correct rotation, color variations (zebra stripes, blue sky, green grass), or the shape of the puzzle piece? At least it gives you the option to choose the Border pieces separately, but again, there are no color sorting options there either...which really doesn't make sense? There is an option to post a Picture Image of the puzzle you are working on which does allow you to choose three different sizes x1, x2, or x3. You can also opt to Ghost the Image on the Background (the puzzle is assembled on top of the ghosted image) It doesn't, however, give you the option to choose the Opaqueness of the Ghosted Image to make the image more or less visible, depending on how difficult you want the puzzle assembly to be...that doesn't make sense either? There is an available Magnifying Glass to enlarge sections, as well as a Hint feature in case you get stumped. You can choose the Resolution, opt for a single Custom Cursor or change the color of the background to a pastel shade of Pink, Green, Blue, or Gray. These basic color options tend to be too dark with many of the puzzles they offer, so being able to adjust the intensity of the background colors at the very least, makes sense, doesn't it? Here's a fun fact: Most monitors can EASILYdisplay 16,777,216 256 different colors, yet we are only given an option of Four of those 16,777,216 256 colors to choose from as the background color...that totally makes no sense, does it? Any Puzzle offered can be modified with Size options, the Shape of the puzzle pieces, and whether or not you want the pieces to Rotate, but even then, it's not optimized to allow you to assemble a puzzle much bigger than 300 pieces. A 300 Piece Puzzle purchased off the shelf would be labeled for ages +8-12...that ridiculously makes no sense to me! Once you complete a Jigsaw Puzzle, you're done, the party's over. You get to see the finished image for a split second (I'm not exaggerating) and then the Stats Window pops up. The completed Jigsaws aren't displayed in a Gallery or any other section for that matter, to allow you to admire your work or the beauty of the image, so I suppose asking for an option to save the puzzle's image as a Screensaver or Wallpaper is too much to ask for...that makes sense, right? There's always something interesting going on at my new forum and we've just started a new group play game! If you miss chatting with fellow fishies from the Big Fish Forum days then grab a thermos full of coffee, throw on your favorite jeans & t-shirt, and lace up your hiking boots...ah who are we kidding...just keep your comfy fuzzy slippers on, and come chillax with us by the fire at thewoodsforum.boards.net

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What is this turning Blue thing? At first I thought there was a much better choice of pictures but about half the puzzles I tried turned blue and not the color shown, What is that all about? They really should check that their puzzles function correctly or is it meant to be like this? Add on to that all the other things that others have mentioned and it makes for a very bad game. Just when you thought it could not get any worse it does. Yet again it does not show what puzzles you have already played so you are left guessing if you have played it or not. It really is time to lock this game up and throw away the key.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from On A Positive Note, I'm Saving $$ Not as many people, not as much food this time but again the pictures are not interesting. The colors are dark, nothing bright and beautiful. I don't expect EVERYTHING to be spectacular but this is another 8Floor collection that doesn't inspire me to spend time or money on one of my favorite pastimes. I've taken far better photos myself. The scenery is boring, birds and animals are scarce, as are flowers. Even the sealife was pretty colorless, very basic. The synopsis describes puzzles I certainly didn't find in this collection. Where are the unique, high-quality images and incredible anything? And by the way, when will 8Floor deliver what they advertise? If you claim 1001 puzzles, I won't be thrilled with 500. It's a matter of honesty that just rubs me the wrong way every time I read the title. At least change the title! Even so, 500 is plenty to offer a broader and more interesting selection than this, which is the norm from 8Floor. These compare to puzzles I find in the $ store and I pass those up even at a dollar. Lots of complaining, I know! After all it's just a game. But I'm just so frustrated that nothing ever improves. Reviewers' requests and suggestions are forever ignored. It's not that there is a lack of fantastic jigsaw puzzles at BFG. It's about this dev being more ambitious and producing what they advertise if they want my $$. I want lots of beauty and relaxation with the puzzles I assemble. If not familiar with this series, check out the demo. The puzzles may be just what you love. They can be assembled in a variety of sizes, there are 5 "books" of themed images, you don't have to work them in sequence, there are just a few features/options but they always seem to work smoothly. I loved the first few releases in this series, they were awesome and not just 500 puzzles. I can't recall when that changed. Look them up and see the difference! I still enjoy them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Same old, Same old Nothing has changed with these. This started out my favorite jigsaw game. I love the pictures, but...... It is very annoying that when you work in the extra space if you combine pieces they fall out of the space. The whole point of having extra room is to be able to put pieces together off the main board. This is the second one of these puzzles that I have done where every picture is in blue tones when you go to put it together. They look normal on the menu screen. Also, the music hasn't changed from game to game.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor picture quality Didn't like that all puzzles are blue and not the true color of the picture.
