First Time in Paris Collector's Edition is rated 2.9 out of 5 by 34.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Enjoyed this HO game very much. When I first saw the low star rating I was hesitant to even play this game let alone buy it. But, I'm so glad I did both. This was a very relaxing game. (Re: I ignored the timer :-) ) The mini games were fun and so were the different things to do in the scenes. I also appreciated how clear and bright the scenes were. So, if you like the classic HO games, then you will definitely enjoy this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A fun different game A hidden object game with lots of mini games. Its fun. The graphics are nice and clear. Find the objects, click on the question mark for fun facts. A magnifying glass in the lower right corner for those of us that are a little blind. AND a lot of reading but the game is still fun. It would be nice to have more of these games but change the music a LOT.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stress-Free Fun I love this game! Great artwork, food images are really good (makes me hungry - maybe I should take a star off for that! HA!), and I like the story - easy to follow, enjoyable, not too hard... something for when you just want a little entertainment without working too hard for it! Has no ghoulies or gore, nothing weird - just simple fun... Definitely recommend it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from gasp... it comes with a MAGNIFYING GLASS!! :D :D Okay, so Mom is ditzy and they only packed one outfit each :D Boomzap, one of my all-time favorite HOG producers, has really gone out of their way on this one. They mixed up the challenges, given us adorable animals in the scenes (the orange tabby kitten is way too cute), and even with the magnifying glass, some items are a pistol to locate. Various types of jigsaws, pairs to find, x number of 1 item to find, and of course - fun facts to collect. Bright, cheerful, no fuzzies or black-on-black, nothing hidden in the shadows, my kind of Hidden Object Game. Paris has changed quite a bit since I was a kid over there, so I am enjoying the discovery of all the new things as an added bonus!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best HO games in a while The developer has really stepped up their game and I am enjoying it immensely. The story line is long, involved and makes playing a hidden object game so much more enjoyable than just seeing a screen, finding the objects, then rinse and repeat. I realize that this game may not appeal to players that don't like reading the text (no voice-overs in this one) but for me, it keeps me invested in reaching the conclusion of not only the game but also the plots. The puzzles which are included between HO scenes are varied in their presentation. While not difficult, there is enough of a challenge to them to stave off any boredom. I have enjoyed playing all of this dev's Fairfield series and this tops all of them in terms of presentation. The artwork is top-notch (kudos to the artist that rendered the Notre Dame scene), the game play smooth and the entertainment value quite enjoyable. I eagerly look forward to more games like this in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First Time In Paris Collector's Edition I enjoy playing games through this developer because they do good games for me to play. It makes a change to play a game based on a city because I get to learn about the place. I enjoy playing large games because they have more detail than small games

Rated 4 out of 5 by from First Time in Paris CE (released here 3-10-22) Based on completed demo only (my rating 3.5*, so I gave 4*) This game is by Boomzap Entertainment, the same makers of the Faircroft’s Antiques series. I really wish this DEV would read the reviews to that series too because I think it would help this one get higher ratings. This game has the exact same problematic features as most reviewers didn't like in the FA series. I left a review under FA #3: The Heir of Glen Kinnoch CE and FA #1 Treasures of Treffenburg SE that totally fit this game too. I liked: ~ The graphics are sharp and clear. ~ The detailed HOP scenes were great and it felt like they were done with care. ~ loved the 1920 x 1080 resolution in options (finally a DEV has this) ~ A double R click will "zoom" the area you're searching ~ There is an "ambient volume" slider in the menu ~ I loved the HOP where you had to find the smaller pictures within the scene that match. Didn't like: ~ The same delivery of the story as Faircroft's Antiques. The other reviewers mentioned a problem with all the clicking through text in that series and it's why this one is getting low reviews too, imo. ~ The rotating puzzles have no thought. If you rapidly click the picture squares they will *stop*... 1, 2, 3 clicks & the square sticks when they are in the correct position; which requires no thought. ~ Same annoying pick-up sound *every* item you click (also the same sound in the mini-games.) ~ The ambient sounds weren't always working. I really disliked the music so when you turned it off, you weren't always hearing background noises with the game effect sounds. I prefer ambient sounds like it’s done in the HOG My Beautiful Earth. ~ Zoom zones still have sparkling stars even when there is no item in the ZZ. I prefer when the ZZ will open & close when items are currently in them. ~ I absolutely hated the "Match Pairs HOP". In order to even find the first item (to match with) you have to click every item in the scene first. I'm so sorry I'm nitpicking this game but (after reading all the other reviews too), I believe it has the ability to be highly rated with a few small changes. This game has so many areas it does shine that it could be outstanding.
