Challenging, fun, and with beautiful scenery and locations, it's been a blast, and I'm only halfway through! If you're looking for something relaxing, with cuter than cute critters, this is a game for you, offering hours of enjoyment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Spring Fun I think this game is bit of Fresh Air and perfect way to welcome Spring time. With all the Darkness that is in the world this brings in a beam of light as with the other I Love Finding games. It is also perfect for those who do like straight HOG the mini games are challenging and also can be skipped.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I never play or buy these games but this is pretty awesome I played the trial, then bought this. Lots of features: ...You can adjust the screen resolution. ...24 scenes 48 puzzles ...456 critters to find, 28 pets to unlock in a cute "Adopt a Critter" patio setting that adopt from playing and earning points. ...Can adjust volumes of music, sound and ambient sounds ...Each scene has: find morphing butterflies. Find squirrels and chipmunks and hedgehogs (the critters) ...(The # of butterfiles and critters is at left on a window and keeps count for you) Note: as you find hidden items, and don't make mis-clicks - you win multipliers (3x, 4x..) and earn more points. DONT click on "Critters" while playing or it'll wipe out the multiplier bonus you accumulated. Find them before you start looking for the listed hidden objects, when you have no multiplier, don't care or just before you find the last object. This is kind of awkward and the feature I don't like much. Once you find that last listed object the scene ends - unless you want to totally replay it. You can't keep going and find your critters. ... All scenes can be replayed and you can jump around to any one you want when you want to. ...Each scene has 2 pages - the main scene and a circle "door" to click on to get to another area of that room. You can toggle back and forth. When you do, the hidden object list fills in with more items. You get 6 at a time. ..... Magnifying glass feature available by clicking it at bottom right, scrolling mouse wheel or double clicking screen Using both makes double zoom. Zoom is VERY clear, big and sharp! ...Puzzles I did in trial were "find the differences" and a "turn the rings to get the picture to look right." They were fun! Not terribly easy but not very hard. I got stumped quite a few times in that way that, when you find the item, you feel really stupid because duh, it was *right* *there*. Hints are also available. They load at their own speed but doesn't take long. bonus chapters, pics of Dev's pets. wallpapers, music. Adopt a Pet menagerie to earn Side game: Release the butterflies into your B utterly Album and make photos. There was a CE section I didn't get to because the trial ran out but I think it's extra chapters. This is very fun, easy going, very beautiful, seamless graphics. Lots going on for such a "small" game but with all the CE's I've bought and wondered what the CE part was, this has a lot of work put into it and I appreciate that. Would be wonderful for kids or older folks with lousy eyes (raising hand...) It's something to "aww" and smile at, which we all need about now. The critters are so cute. Yeah, it's cheesy but ...awwww. All very relaxing. Gorgeous, sharp, photo-real scenes that that are put together terrifically. They don't look tacky or forced or have items sitting in stupid places. If you have to find a camera, it's on a table, not in a cloud 20x bigger than real life. I usually don't at all play these type of games as the graphics are too hard to see or stare at and I find them boring. I am surprized how much I like it. No pressure, clean and creative. At least look at the demo like I did and you'll get hooked, too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BoomZap Is On The Ball Thankfully these devs are delivering some quality games when we are in such a dry spell at BFG. Such a shortage of quality games. I love these HOGs with all the hidden animals and own 3 of them, enjoying every bit of the searching, the mini games and even the frustration of getting stuck sometimes. The features work great. Not boring! Just fun! The animals are well hidden in the bright, colorful scenes. The locations are very full of all sorts of things. You'll be delighted to know there are morphing butterflies in each scene, too. The items are usually small and not so obvious. That makes it more fun when the items don't stand out like a sore thumb as in many other HO games. I love the challenge and I am rewarded with many, many hours of entertainment. I always enjoy these quality HOGs as a refreshing change from all the dark-themed games and the save-the-princess and magic kingdoms stories. I've become so tired of them! This style of HOG suits me a great deal because there is a fun assortment of games, some back and forth between scenes to find the list items and the locations contain realistic objects instead of a bunch of cartoonish stuff. In addition, the challenge is very good, I don't lose interest. Also, being an avid animal lover, I really do enjoy them a lot, always. When considering the quality, the multitude of animals, the morphing butterflies, the puzzles, the extra cities to visit, this CE really is worth the price, for me. It has great replay value, making it even more of a bargain. Other devs should do such a fine job with their CEs instead of the skimpy games they've been churning out for so long. Try the demo, if you love animals you'll likely be very pleased. There's lots of hidden object fun waiting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another fun HO game I do love these games. Relaxing and not having to think so hard. The graphics are nice and clear. I don't like spiders at all but the rest is fun. The magnifying glass is nice to use sometimes. Please keep this type of game coming. Its a nice refreshing change!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from NOAH’S ARK IS NEEDED FOR THIS COLLECTION OF CRITTERS REVIEW BASED UPON THE ENTIRE GAME You are off on another fantastic world-wide adventure, searching for critters from cities around the world. This game is jam-packed with animals of all species! Visit eighteen (18) cities switching between two scenes searching for a list of items while locating twelve (12) critters and three (3) morphing butterflies. Then play a Spot-the-Differences puzzle which contains three (3) more critters. The format is the same as in the other three games, “Cats,” “More Cats,” and “Pups.” Unlike other HOP games, which I find extremely boring, I find this series more to my liking. The game is fast paced, which can be partially attributed to searching between two scenes for the items. Not all the items to be located are displayed in the beginning. The player must bounce back-and-forth between the two scenes to get more items added to the list. I liked that. Also, the critters and items are not easy to locate which made the game more puzzle-like. Another factor which kept my interest are the puzzles. There are more puzzles in this game which breaks up the constant stream of searches found in other straight HOP games. After finding the items and collectibles, each city will have a Spot–the-Differences puzzle. Search for 12 differences between the scenes. I found some of those differences difficult to locate. After that puzzle, there are matching puzzles or one of a variety of jigsaw puzzles to solve. Some of these are somewhat difficult with round pieces and a background which makes it difficult to create the scene BONUS LEVEL: There are six bonus cities. The format is the same as within the main game. I felt this was worth the price of a collector’s edition. The six extra cities provided a nice amount of extra gameplay for this game. MECHANICS: • Collect 12 critters per location – for a total of 456 critters. • Critters are different within each city visited. Search for adorable hedgehogs, manic monkeys, quacking ducks, clucking hens, sneaky snakes, wide-eyed otters, peeping chicks, fiendish ferrets, lurking lizards, nutty squirrels, timid turtles, pompous parakeets, and freaky frogs to name a few. • There 3 more critters to be found in the Spot-the-Differences scenes. • Collect 72 morphing butterflies within the scenes - 3 per scene. I found two butterflies within the main scenes and one within the secondary scene. • Upon completion of the game release the butterflies (each butterfly provides 3 circular puzzle pieces) to provide 12 picture puzzles of butterflies. • 27 Wallpapers • Developer Animal Collection. A section within the bonus content which provides some entertaining information about the developer’s animals. WHERE ARE THE MISSING UNICORNS? I LOVE FINDING FAIRY FOLK! No unicorns? Unfortunately, those critters missed the voyage on Noah’s Ark. However, they are still living in the fairy tale kingdom. It would be wonderful to play a HOP game with travels to the cities of the fairy tale kingdom in search of those missing unicorns, along with fairies, elves, ogres, witches, gremlins, leprechauns, dwarfs, mermaids, flying monkeys, wizards, and other fairy tale denizens which hide within the trees or under mushrooms within the forests.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Surprisingly Fun ... and Challenging I haven't reviewed a game in forever. For-EVER! I just had to review this one. I've played the demos for finding the cats, more cats and dogs and, quite frankly, expected the next in the series to be even MORE cats or more dogs. Imagine my surprise when we've moved on to 'critters'. The game is relatively simple .... find the hidden objects .... and 'critters' and morphing butterflies in each scene/level. There's a magnifying glass which came in very handy for this woman of a certain age with old eyes and who probably needs glasses. There's also a quickly regenerating hint button indicated by a pigeon. There you go, the basics. I read the reviews talking about the CE extras like the awful, non-believable dev pets .... this IS about critters and the pets leaned towards those. I did LOVE the wallpapers and almost decided before even playing the demo to get the dang CE just for those! Btw, I've NEVER used a game's wallpaper feature and I own hundreds of games. There are minigames between each scene and not just one. Puzzles of all varieties and spot the difference. LOVE THIS FEATURE! It breaks up the monotony for my poor old eyes lol. What I found off-putting about this game is that my interpretation of the word 'critter' varies from the developers'. I think spiders (well, maybe more a creepy-crawly), iguana, etc. to be critters. I noticed in one scene they were more squirrels, hedgehogs and mice. Yet, in the last scene I played the 'critters' were birds of every variety and type! So, here I go again, as I did in the first scene, clicking of every animal, creepy-crawly, etc. I saw! It was off-putting but didn't change my mind about this game. I'm buying it. It is challenging ... taking into consideration you really don't have a clue what critters you're looking for ... fun and has those cute animal wallpapers to use. Honestly, I was much more focused on finding the critters in each scene than the actual hidden objects and it took T-I-M-E. lol Didn't buy the cats, more cats or dogs (sorry puppers) but this critters version is definitely going into my game stockpile! Happy Gaming!
